Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Capítulo 1963: 1956 Do not sit and wait for death

Jiang Guixiang didn’t believe Qin Jian would dare kill someone: “You’re a soldier, and you dare to kill? Don’t lie to me!”

“It’s true I’m a soldier! But I’m also a father, don’t forget that!” Qin Jian said, his hands clenching tighter.

An Baoguo immediately felt a bout of breathlessness, opening his mouth and starting to cough desperately.

Seeing this, Jiang Guixiang not only didn’t relent but instead dangled the child’s whole body out the window: “Let’s see which is faster: you squeezing a person to death, or me throwing the child down!”

Ning Chenyang cried so hard as if his heart was being torn apart, and An Hao’s heart shattered into pieces along with him; she dared not risk her son’s life.

Tears welling in her eyes, she said to Qin Jian: “Let him go! Hurry!”

Seeing that Jiang Guixiang had completely lost her mind, Qin Jian dared not take any further risks, so he slowly released his hand.

“Back out, close the door, and wait outside,” Jiang Guixiang yelled harshly.

“I’ll give you the money, and I’ll listen to your instructions, but please don’t harm her. The child is innocent!” An Hao’s tears flowed like an unstoppable river as she cautiously pleaded with the furious woman before her, only hoping she wouldn’t harm the child’s life.

The door closed again.

An Hao crouched outside the door, sobbing uncontrollably.

Qin Jian clenched his fist and punched the wall hard: “I’m useless, I can’t even save my own son!”

Blood trickled down from Qin Jian’s fingers, and An Hao, seeing this, held his arm tightly: “Stop hitting! We can’t just sit here and do nothing, we have to think of a way to rescue the child!”

She mumbled incessantly, pacing anxiously in the hallway.

The sound of high heels clacked crisply in the hallway, and the footsteps sounded slow and elegant.

The footsteps stopped on the floor where An Hao and Qin Jian were, and a gentle female voice wafted over: “What are you all doing here?”

Hearing the voice, An Hao and Qin Jian turned around almost simultaneously to see a woman dressed elegantly and decently standing in front of them.

She had long, shiny black hair, bright, lively eyes embedded in her fair face, and her thin lips curved slightly upwards with a spring-breeze-like amiable smile.

An Hao was immersed in her pain at this moment, and upon seeing this stranger, she had no mind to pay attention to her.

Qin Jian also gave her a brief glance and withdrew his gaze.

He had no interest or intention to deal with unrelated people, especially a woman.

Seeing An Hao and Qin Jian each giving her a glance but remaining silent, the woman couldn’t help but laugh: “Uh… could I trouble you to move a bit? You seem to be blocking my doorway!”

“Your doorway?” An Hao wiped the tears seeping from her eyes and asked in surprise, “This is your house?”

The woman nodded with a smile: “This is my parents’ house! But they both passed away last year. I’ve been working out of town these two years, so I had a friend rent the place out for me. Are you tenants here?”

“No,” Qin Jian said succinctly, then asked her, “What are you planning to do now? There’s still someone renting in this room!”

“I’ve found a new job in this city! There are some old things my parents left behind in the house, and I’m planning to pack them up and take them away,” the woman said.

Qin Jian and An Hao exchanged glances, and for a moment, they both saw a flash of light in each other’s eyes.
