Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1745: Chapter 1744: Here, Weapons!

The expression on Rat’s face gradually darkened. Just as he was about to lose his temper, Dr. Lu spoke up, ”Let me handle this! I know how to treat this kind of injury!”

Rat hesitated.

After all, if a man is let loose, he’s not as easily controlled as a woman.

”Hurry up! It hurts like hell! Rat, do you want me to call my dad?” Mu Mian kept urging. Seeing that Rat didn’t respond, she shouted at the top of her lungs, ”Dad!”

The sound echoed far into the mountains, but there was no response from Mu Qiankun.

”Uncle Mu must still be behind us! We can’t just leave him! How about we take this chance to treat Mianmian’s foot while we wait?” Lin Sheng suggested.

”Fine.” Rat, always cautious, worried that An Hao and Yan Ye might try to run. He tied them both to a tree before untying Dr. Lu.

Once the ropes came loose, Dr. Lu lowered his head and walked straight to Mu Mian. Squatting down, he gently massaged her ankle. ”It might hurt a bit, but bear with it. It’ll be over soon.”

”Alright,” Mu Mian bit down hard on her lower lip.

”By the way, did you bring any gauze or similar supplies when you came? After setting this ankle, it needs to be stabilized to prevent another dislocation,” Dr. Lu said.

”Yes, in my backpack,” Lin Sheng said as he let go of Mu Mian’s hand and found a flat spot to squat and rummage for the bandage.

With his back to everyone, he quietly slipped a dagger into his sleeve.

”Stop dawdling! Are you done yet?” Rat pointed his gun at Dr. Lu’s head and turned to snap at Lin Sheng.

”Almost done!” Lin Sheng quickly pulled out the bandage and returned to Mu Mian’s side.

”Alright, I’m going to start now.” After testing a few times, Dr. Lu grabbed Mu Mian’s foot with both hands and swiftly twisted it. There was a loud crack, and Mu Mian let out a piercing scream.

”Oh my god!” Big Guy and Rat raised a hand to cover their ears simultaneously. At the same time, Lin Sheng suddenly lunged at Big Guy, who had been standing beside him and aiming a gun at An Hao and Yan Ye.

”Shit!” Rat realized something was wrong. Hesitating between shooting Lin Sheng or Mu Mian, he didn’t act immediately. At that moment, Dr. Lu unexpectedly struck, sweeping Rat’s legs out from under him with a well-placed kick.

Rat, stunned, tried to roll over and get up, but Dr. Lu launched himself at him.

Rat aimed his gun at Dr. Lu and was about to pull the trigger, but Dr. Lu’s hand shot out and clamped down tightly on the gun.

The confrontation on both sides was intense and closely matched, tightening An Hao and Yan Ye’s chests with anxiety.

Big Guy turned his gun to shoot Lin Sheng but had it smacked away. As he reached for the gun at his lower back, Big Guy tightly grabbed his arm.

When he tried to fire, he realized there was no bullet in the chamber.

”Damn it! Playing me like this? Gave me a gun without bullets?” Lin Sheng was furious. Gritting his teeth, he threw his entire weight onto Big Guy, pinning him underneath. Extending a hand, he passed the dagger hidden in his sleeve to Yan Ye. ”Cut the ropes! Run!”

Yan Ye quickly cut away the ropes binding him and handed the knife to An Hao.

As An Hao was cutting his ropes, a gunshot rang out loud and clear. Everyone froze and looked toward Rat and Dr. Lu.

Dr. Lu’s white coat was soaked in blood near his collarbone.

At the same time, Lin Sheng was overpowered by Big Guy, who flipped him onto his back. A heavy punch landed on Lin Sheng’s face, causing blood to gush from his nose as if a sauce jar had been overturned.

”Lin Sheng—!” Mu Mian screamed. Ignoring her injured foot, she limped forward desperately.

An Hao quickly cut through his ropes and handed the dagger to Yan Ye. ”Take the weapon!”
