Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1718: Chapter 1717: Urgent Situation

”Yeah! Who says it’s not?” Yan Ye also didn’t like this kind of interview. They were just doctors, after all, wanting only to quietly and earnestly pursue knowledge in their own field, rather than to be in the limelight like celebrities.

”We’ve done the interview with the Military Newspaper, and the one with Nancheng Morning News as well, that should be enough, right? I don’t want to take part in any more interviews! Please, Professor Yan, if there are any interviews in the future, help me turn them down, thank you!” An Hao said with a smile.

”You think I want to? Isn’t this also a way to promote our hospital’s technology? It’s something that brings honor to the troops!” Yan Ye said.

”Alright! But, it should be much less in the future. I guess we’re about to get through this.”

An Hao nodded in agreement.

Just as the two had stepped out of the newspaper office, they heard someone calling their names in a hurry behind them: ”Professor Yan, Dr. An, please wait!”

Hearing the call, Yan Ye stopped in his tracks.

The director of the newspaper hurriedly came out and said to Yan Ye: ”Professor Yan, the hospital just called, there’s an emergency, they need you to rush over immediately.”

”What happened?” Yan Ye asked.

”Don’t know! They didn’t say, only that it’s extremely urgent!” the director of the newspaper said.

”Alright. I got it!”

Yan Ye hurried to the roadside and hailed a car. He and An Hao got in and sped toward the affiliated hospital.

Upon getting out of the car, Yan Ye headed straight for the dean’s office.

Seeing Yan Ye walk in, the dean did not even let him catch his breath and said, ”We just received an order from above, you need to take your assistants and leave immediately. There’s a very important surgery waiting for you to perform!”

”What important surgery?” Yan Ye asked.

”Last night, an accident occurred in the military exercise area. A battalion commander surnamed Qin was shot in the chest, his life hanging by a thread! The bullet is lodged in a tricky position, the hospital there is at their wits’ end! That’s why they need you to do it!” the dean said rapidly.

”Battalion commander? Surnamed Qin?” Yan Ye felt a buzz in his head.

A battalion commander surnamed Qin, isn’t that Qin Jian?

”Yes!”

”What’s the specific situation?” Yan Ye urgently asked.

”Don’t know. They were very urgent on the phone. Many details were not given! Hurry up and get ready, and if you have any requirements, just say so!” the dean said.

”Can I take a few assistants?” Yan Ye asked.

”Of course! You can choose any of the doctors in the hospital. Whoever you pick is fine! Remember, you must save this battalion commander, that’s a strict order from the higher-ups!” the dean said adamantly.

”Alright! I’ll do my best!” Yan Ye agreed.

After the dean had finished with the instructions, he looked at his watch and said, ”You have ten minutes to prepare. In ten minutes, a helicopter will land on the rooftop helipad of our hospital! You will leave by helicopter.”

”Alright. I’ll go prepare immediately.”

After leaving the dean’s office, Yan Ye’s mood was extremely heavy. The dean had said the bullet had entered the heart, and the local military hospital had already tried to save him, but they could not remove the bullet, and his life was in imminent danger!

Yan Ye was unclear about the specific circumstances and didn’t know how desperately Qin Jian was struggling on the brink of life and death.

He sighed deeply and quickened his steps.

After returning to the operating room, Yan Ye quickly packed up his things and notified Dr. Lu from the research team, telling him that they needed to go on a mission together.
