Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1714: Chapter 1713: I Admit Defeat

”Commander, can you believe these special forces bastards actually damaged the caterpillar tracks of Commander Wu’s tank. Once they stopped, everyone nearby must have rushed to rescue. And as a result, everyone got ambushed. Talk about rotten luck... I have no idea how they manage such accurate shooting in the pitch darkness of the night.”

”Sound,” Qin Jian said.

”Sound? You can tell from that?” Zhao Dong asked.

”The gunshots just now came from three different directions. It proves there was none from our position. The other three directions were active. The sparse gunshots and the ability to hit targets accurately suggest that the enemies were not very far from the tank’s position. They were hidden in the dark, while the tank and our men were exposed.”

”Impressive!” Zhao Dong said admiringly, giving a thumbs-up, ”Commander, what do we do next?”

”Split into three groups and sneak over there! Then shoot to kill!” Qin Jian cautioned them again to be extremely careful.

”Yes, sir!”

As soon as Qin Jian finished speaking, Zhao Dong led his men into action.

Gunshots came from the three directions, making Qin Jian’s heart tighten, uncertain who had killed whom.

While Qin Jian was worrying, all sounds suddenly ceased.

Then, a voice rang out: ”Commander Wu, are we all done for? If we’re done for, what are we waiting for? Let’s get out of here!”

”Am I the commander or are you the commander!” Commander Wu roared discontentedly, slowly standing up out of the tank. He unbuckled his belt and whipped the buttocks of the warrior who had just spoken, ”If I hear you say ’let’s retreat’ again, I’ll whip you to death!”

”Yes, Commander!”

While they were talking, a person emerged from the dark dense forest, holding a gun, ”I say, everybody come out? These guys are all done for.”

But the response was total silence.

At this moment, the rain had stopped, the clouds had scattered, and the small puddles on the ground started to shine.

”What’s wrong? Everyone’s so cautious? Haha, once they come out from their tanks, they’re nothing!” the brazen young man said.

”What are you so smug about?” As soon as Commander Wu heard this, he got furious, ”Why don’t you try driving a tank?”

”A loss is a loss...” just as he finished speaking, he heard a bang and got shot himself. He shouted incredulously, ”Who? Who shot me?”

Now it was Commander Wu’s turn to gloat, ”Haha! That’s what you get for being cocky...”

At that point, several other special forces warriors emerged from the woods, ruefully saying, ”We’ve been tricked! Got taken out with a single shot!”

”Six people ambushed me! I dodged five shots and took one!”

”We’re finished too. Time to wash up and sleep!”

”No, I can’t accept this! They call me Eagle! May I know who took me out?” Eagle shouted angrily. He was sure of victory after eliminating many enemies.

But out of nowhere, Cheng Yaojin shot him.

Someone came out of the woods, foot kicking a rifle. Although it was too dark to see the person’s face, the overwhelming aura was unmistakably felt by everyone there.

”It was me! Qin Jian!” Qin Jian stepped forward and said.

Upon hearing that it was Qin Jian, Eagle was thoroughly convinced in his defeat: ”I’ve long respected your name! Commander Qin, I’m convinced by my loss to you! I hope for another chance to compete in the future!”
