Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1716: Chapter 1715: Boss, Be Careful!

”I’ll go with you, Captain!” Zhao Dong hurriedly followed.

”You wait here. The other party has live ammunition, and we still don’t know who they are! This situation is too dangerous!” Qin Jian finished speaking and turned to continue walking.

”Captain! If it’s such a dangerous situation, I can’t let you go alone! It’s better for the two of us to go, we can look after each other.” Zhao Dong hurriedly ran a few steps and caught up again.

”This is an order, you must obey the order and go back!” Qin Jian said in a stern voice.

”Captain! Please let me go with you!” Zhao Dong pleaded repeatedly.

”Enough said. If you refuse to execute the order, I’ll punish you!”

”Even if you sanction me to death, I must go!”

Regimental Commander Wu laughed at the conversation between the two: ”Alright, stop arguing! Zhao Dong, you go back, I’ll go with your Captain to check it out!”

”How could you do it, Captain?” The tank regiment’s warriors weren’t having it, ”Captain Qin, he’s a former scout! He won the champion during the military district’s competition, and his marksmanship is very accurate...”

”Hey, you bunch of little rascals! Are you saying I’m not up for it? Is this how you talk about your Captain?” My Captain finished speaking, clicked his gear in place, then said to Qin Jian, ”Although I may be a bit inferior to you! But I’m more than enough compared to Zhao Dong, right?”

”Alright, alright! You both come with me!” Qin Jian expressed his helplessness, ”It’s not something good we’re rushing toward, why are you even joining in!”

”Of course! This just shows our revolutionary awareness is high, right?” Regimental Commander Wu said half-jokingly.

”Exactly! I agree with that!” Zhao Dong laughed hehehe.

”The situation on the other side is unclear right now, we must be extremely careful.” Qin Jian reiterated the warning, ”As we advance, pay attention to finding places to hide. Don’t engage unless absolutely necessary. Remember, our guns are loaded with blanks, they can’t kill.”

”Understood!” Zhao Dong replied.

Regimental Commander Wu also nodded, expressing his confusion, ”Who could possibly sneak in here? You know, this is a military exercise area!”

”Problems can arise even in closed areas.” Qin Jian glanced at the pitch-black forest around them, ”Although it’s sealed off, we cannot rule out people with ulterior motives. For such a large area, isn’t it easy for a person to get in? If the other party intentionally came in, then it would be even easier.”

”That’s true.” Regimental Commander Wu agreed.

”Moreover, there’s one more issue we can’t overlook!” Qin Jian stopped walking and looked at the two people beside him, ”This is the borderline! Anyone passing here with a gun must be harboring ill intentions.”

”Now that you put it that way, I’m really breaking into a cold sweat.” Zhao Dong felt a chill down his spine.

”No worries! The other party knows we’re conducting exercises; they won’t make any big moves! But we should still be extra cautious. We shouldn’t have too many problems!”

”Regimental Commander Wu is right! Let’s continue moving forward!”

.........

The dense forest was in the midst of a noisy scuffle.

Suddenly, the sound of a dry branch cracking underfoot startled everyone.

”Shh!” Old Four furrowed his brows and quickly signaled everyone to quiet down, ”There’s someone coming.”

Everyone held their breath, only to hear the rustling sound, and then it started to rain from above.

”Fourth Brother, you scared us to death!” Sixth Brother let out a sigh of relief.

”Stop fighting no matter what!” Old Four’s eyes bulged round, although Sixth Brother couldn’t see it.

”If he apologizes to me, I’ll stop.” Sixth Brother stiffened his neck and spoke. Just after he finished, the sound of distant voices could be heard.

”Captain, watch your step...”

”There really are people!” Old Four gritted his teeth and whispered, ”Load your bullets, get ready, if there are few of them, take them out directly!”
