Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1730: Chapter 1729: From Hell to Heaven

When she saw clearly that it was Qin Jian’s face, she excitedly hugged him tightly and passionately kissed him back.

The two of them rolled on the bed, kissing each other until they were breathless and finally stopped.

”Why is it you? This is really unexpected! Is the military exercise over?” An Hao held Qin Jian’s arm tightly, her eyes scanning him up and down. ”You’re not hurt, that’s great! Truly, that’s so great!”

”The commander told me everything about your situation. You thought I was on the verge of death and ended up crying all the way?” Qin Jian reached out to gently pinch her delicate chin, lifting it up and looking her over. ”Hmm, your eyes look much better now! I heard from the commander that you cried so much you looked like a squashed walnut!”

”Nonsense! Just think about it—someone working peacefully at the hospital suddenly gets a call saying that a commander with the surname Qin participating in the military exercises got shot in the chest and is critically injured. What would you feel after hearing that? Wouldn’t you be scared? I immediately thought it must be you! So I cried all the way here, only to be told there’s another commander with the surname Qin!” An Hao leaned her head against his chest. ”Do you know what it felt like? It was like going from hell to heaven!”

”What a mix-up!” Qin Jian exclaimed. ”But it’s precisely because of this mix-up that I got the chance to see you!”

”Hmm. Anyway, unless something unexpected happens, we should leave the day after tomorrow. I don’t know when your military exercise ends?” After asking, An Hao suddenly remembered. ”Wait—has your military exercise ended already? Otherwise, how are you here?”

”Something unexpected has indeed happened! The exercise is over, but we can’t leave yet! When it’s time to go back, you should leave first. If you stay too long, your family will worry about you.” Qin Jian stroked her long hair as he spoke.

”Hmm, alright then. But honestly, I don’t understand... why do military exercises use live ammunition?” An Hao had been pondering this question ever since performing surgeries.

”I can’t tell you for now; it’s classified information!” Qin Jian said.

”Hmph! Even if you don’t tell me, I can still guess most of it correctly! Did someone infiltrate the exercise area?” An Hao asked.

”My wife is so clever—she hit the nail on the head! But come on, guess who it might be?” Qin Jian looked down at An Hao’s beautiful face.

”Drug traffickers!” An Hao blurted out instantly.

Back in her previous life, at the time of her death, drug trafficking was already rampant.

These substances were smuggled from abroad by traffickers and circulated domestically. During those years, television news and newspapers were flooded with reports about this.

There would often be intense gunfights at the border.

The county where they were located happened to be at the border.

A little further ahead, there were deep mountains and dense forests. Cross over those mountains, then wade through a river, and the traffickers would reach another country.

So, An Hao strongly believed it must be drug traffickers.

”Your guess aligns perfectly with mine. Captain Wu was likely injured by those drug traffickers, though it might’ve been accidental!”

”Definitely accidental! Drug traffickers aren’t stupid—they wouldn’t openly provoke knowing there’s a military exercise here. Unless they have a death wish!”

Qin Jian, seeing An Hao’s well-thought-out analysis, praised her repeatedly: ”My An Hao truly is exceptional!”

An Hao chuckled lightly: ”Are you praising yourself or me here?”
