Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1694: Chapter 1694: Stay Away from Him

”Mhm. I’m analyzing surgical cases. I haven’t been to the hospital for work in a long time, and I’m afraid my hands have gotten out of practice,” An Hao said without lifting her head.

”If you really want to, then you should go to the hospital,” he said. After all, that was her dream, and Qin Jian also felt it was a waste for her to stay at home.

”After the graduation ceremony, I’ll probably have to return to the hospital. I’ve already delayed for too long, and even if I wanted to continue postponing, the hospital wouldn’t allow it,” An Hao had received a call from Yan Ye after coming back.

He brought her the latest news from the hospital.

So An Hao had no choice but to go to the hospital even if she didn’t want to.

”Alright then. Since you have to go to the hospital, don’t overexert yourself.”

Qin Jian hugged An Hao from behind and continued to take off his clothes.

An Hao turned around and saw that he was left in only a pair of military shorts, his muscles on full display in front of her.

”You’ve lost weight. It must have been tough during this time, no? I wonder how you’re holding up?” An Hao looked at Qin Jian with concern. After all, he was in his thirties, training out in the patrol field with the warriors every day.

It really wasn’t easy.

Qin Jian hugged An Hao tightly and said with his head lowered, ”I won’t lose weight. My muscles will only grow stronger, and my physique will only get more robust. Don’t worry about me.”

”When is the military exercise scheduled?” An Hao asked.

”At the end of September, or the beginning of October. Why?”

”No reason, just asking. I don’t want to be apart from you, and I can’t help but worry!”

An Hao buried her head in his chest and said in a muffled voice.

”It’s just a military exercise, nothing unexpected will happen. You don’t need to worry about me, and I’ll be staying in the command center. It’s you who needs to stay away from that Mr. Hou! I’ve always known he’s up to no good,” Qin Jian stroked An Hao’s hair as he spoke.

”I haven’t noticed any particular intentions from him.” An Hao looked up at Qin Jian after speaking, ”Why do you dislike him so much?”

”As the saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished! It’s clear to see, Mr. Hou is a typical businessman; look at his eyes, always shining with cunning. He may act all proper on the surface, but who knows what kind of person he is behind the scenes!”

Qin Jian’s words were not unfounded speculation or subjective conjecture based on intuition alone.

”You dislike him that much?” An Hao asked.

”Yes. His desires are too strong. You can tell from his eyes—he’s good at disguising himself! What would you feel about someone who has to disguise themselves so well yet approaches you quietly and without a sound?”

”Alright then. I’ll keep my distance from him. But besides our previous interaction, we won’t have any more in the future,” An Hao said.

”That would be best.”

In mid-July, An Hao graduated from school as scheduled.

She had already completed her credits ahead of time and had started her internship as early as the second half of her sophomore year.

Therefore, she wasn’t lacking in either credits or internship experience.

Gu Shuangshuang also received her diploma from the school, and considering her pregnancy, the school made special arrangements for her.

Furthermore, Shuangshuang’s stepfather Li Youjun and her biological father Gu Yishan had both made special efforts on her behalf, so she also stayed in a decent department.

Her work wasn’t in clinical medicine but rather in management.

This was also what Gu Shuangshuang had in mind.

The end of September came in a flash.

Qin Jian was about to participate in the military exercise, but since An Hao needed to report to the hospital, the two hurriedly bid each other farewell in the morning and went their separate ways.
