Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1654: Chapter 1664: Something’s Not Right

”I suppose so. The hospital residency quota is about to be released, right? Besides regular internship performance, there are also assessments! The General Surgery assessment is going to be set soon. She hasn’t held the lead surgeon’s scalpel for so long, I’m somewhat worried. But at least she should be able to pass the written test, right?” Ji Chuan hopes to keep An Hao in General Surgery.

”Those exams are pretty basic nowadays. You don’t need to worry, An Hao should not have any problems.” She is the student he personally taught.

An Hao is very stable and precise when she operates, and she’s also very decisive.

So Yan Ye isn’t too worried about her.

”I guess this is just me being cautious ahead of time,” Ji Chuan said as he stood up, ”Please pass the message on for me.”

”Okay. I’ll thank you on her behalf.”

”No need for thanks. I’m glad to keep her in General Surgery; please go easy on her when the time comes.”

”That will depend on her,” Yan Ye said with a smile.

”I knew it would end like this,” Ji Chuan rolled his eyes at him and left.

.................

Qin Jian had just finished the morning meeting.

After the meeting, Zhang Jianguo called him to visit the headquarters.

He got into the car, ready to leave, when he heard someone running and calling after him.

”Commander! Commander!”

From the rearview mirror, Qin Jian saw the recruit Lin Sheng chasing his car.

”Stop a moment,” Qin Jian said to the driver before he got out of the car. Seeing Lin Sheng sweating profusely and panting, he casually took a handkerchief from his pocket and handed it to him, ”Wipe your sweat, take it slow, what happened?”

”Commander, I heard the platoon leader say that we went on a drug trafficker raid yesterday?” Lin Sheng asked, wiping his sweat.

Qin Jian frowned: ”Don’t listen to that guy blabbering, he can’t keep his mouth shut.”

”I believe the platoon leader, he wouldn’t talk nonsense,” Lin Sheng said earnestly.

This Zhao Dong! Blockhead!

Qin Jian cursed inwardly! If that guy were here, he would definitely kick him hard!

Doesn’t he understand the purpose of keeping it a secret?

Qin Jian’s mind was spinning with thoughts, but his facial expression remained calm: ”That’s not true!”

”Commander, don’t lie to me, I was wandering outside the camp last night and ran into the platoon leader!”

”What? You were wandering outside the camp? What were you doing out late at night? What does the new recruit discipline say? Didn’t the patrol team notice you?” Qin Jian’s face darkened as he spoke in a low voice, ”There are commands in a military camp! As a recruit, how dare you disobey the military’s discipline?”

”I...” Lin Sheng was at a loss for words.

”What you? Get back to your training!” Qin Jian glanced at his watch, ”It’s 9 AM. The recruit platoon is training, what are you doing here? How could you run over here?”

”I heard about the situation, was worried, and came to see if you were alright...” Lin Sheng stammered out.

Qin Jian felt there was something off about Lin Sheng, so he asked, ”Do you care about me that much?”

”Mmhmm!” Lin Sheng nodded eagerly.

”Alright! I’m telling you, I didn’t go! I don’t even know what you’re talking about! Go back to your training now, later I need to talk to your platoon leader! Blowing hot air all day!” Qin Jian threw a few words at Lin Sheng before turning around and getting back into the car.

”Ah! Commander!” Lin Sheng hurried forward to chase after him.
