Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1688: Chapter 1688: Offering Unsolicited Help.

”Thank you for your compliment,” An Hao smiled gracefully, ”Mr. Hou, you are also among the best of men! No need for further flattery, right?”

Mr. Hou naturally understood what An Hao meant.

”Our last cooperation was very enjoyable. But I was also dearly tricked by you. I really thought you were Mr. Lin’s bodyguard...” Hou Zicheng said with a smile.

”That’s all in the past,” An Hao implied that it should not be brought up again, ”Let’s go up first, Mr. Hou, please make yourself comfortable.”

”Wait,” Hou Zicheng’s gaze fell on Qin Jian, ”Colonel, my name is Hou Zicheng. I feel a sort of kinship upon meeting you, Colonel. May I have the honor to invite you to sit and have a drink with me?”

Qin Jian looked at Mr. Hou expressionlessly and slowly said, ”I’m sorry, I don’t have the time.”

”What about later?”

”We’ll see next time.”

After finishing speaking, Qin Jian took An Hao and headed upstairs.

While walking, he said to An Hao: ”Stay away from this person in the future.”

”What’s wrong? Did you notice something?” An Hao asked.

”This person offers unsolicited favors, either a crook or a thief.” Moreover, he disliked those eyes full of intentions and desires.

It feels greasy and it’s very disgusting!

”He is indeed very enthusiastic about you. He once said that he really likes military persons, admires the military! He even wanted to be a soldier for a while! He has a special complex towards military personnel!”

”That’s pure nonsense!” Qin Jian did not believe his lies at all.

This man does not look like he has any bravery.

He does not believe that such a man would want to be a soldier!

”Alright.” An Hao didn’t like Mr. Hou either.

If it wasn’t for the business with An Ping’s company, he and she would never have met.

Hou Zicheng watched as the silhouettes of Qin Jian and An Hao disappeared, his eyes revealing a trace of regret.

”What? Mr. Hou, are you falling for my cousin or my cousin-in-law?” Lin Qiushu said with a teasing smile.

”Look at what you’re saying. I’m a man, how could I possibly like another man? Your cousin-in-law is already married, her husband is even a battalion commander, do you think I dare covet her? If I mess with your cousin-in-law, I bet your cousin would drive a tank over to flatten me.”

”Then what are you still looking at?”

Lin Qiushu frowned.

”Just taking a casual look. It’s great to be young, if I had the chance, I would also enlist,” Hou Zicheng sighed and turned to look for Guan Qing and Hen Zhiyuan.

In the corner.

Guan Qing looked down at the menu, which had dishes identical to those from before.

Today, Nanguofeng was opening, he hesitated for a long time, summoning courage to step into the store once again.

With no other purpose, he just wanted to taste the cuisine here once more.

Hou Zicheng sat down across from Guan Qing and Hen Zhiyuan, rubbed his hands excitedly and said, ”Have you decided? Order whatever you want, it’s my treat.”

Guan Qing casually ordered a few dishes, handed the menu to Hen Zhiyuan, then looked up and asked Hou Zicheng, ”I just saw Mr. Hou chatting quite warmly with Colonel Qin.”

”That wasn’t the case,” Mr. Hou said sullenly, ”I might admire them, but they don’t care about me. They’re military folks, I’m a businessman. Our social statuses are worlds apart.”

”That’s not entirely true,” Guan Qing said with a bitter smile, ”But Colonel Qin indeed has the pride to back it up, he’s about to encounter another highlight in his life soon.”
