Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1652: Chapter 1652: Love Not Aimed at Marriage...

”Yes. How much longer does my grandma have if she doesn’t have surgery?” Qiushu asked.

”A year or half a year won’t be a problem. If she can live longer than that, it would truly be a miracle,” Yan Ye gave his prognosis.

”Okay. I got it. Then let’s delay for half a year. I’ll come personally to persuade Grandma to undergo the surgery after half a year?”

”Why must it be half a year?” Yan Ye didn’t understand, ”In fact, she already shows signs for needing surgery. In such cases, it’s best to operate as soon as possible, the sooner, the better the outcome after surgery!”

”Although I don’t really understand the professional medical details, I do understand that it’s best to treat illnesses early. But for Grandma, she still hasn’t fulfilled her own wish! I hope she can fulfill it!”

”Is a wish more important than life?” Yan Ye could not comprehend.

Qiushu raised her head, looked at Yan Ye, and said slowly: ”What if this wish has been sustaining her for half a century?”

”What wish are you referring to?”

”To find her long-lost relatives. To be frank, that’s what has been supporting my grandma to keep living all this time,” Qiushu explained simply to Yan Ye.

”How’s the search going?” Yan Ye inquired.

”We’ve made progress. It’s almost certain now that An Hao’s grandma is the daughter of my grandma’s long-lost sister,” Qiushu felt it was quite a mouthful to say.

Who would have thought, Yan Ye immediately caught on, ”So, that means you and Qin Jian are cousins?”

”Mhm. It seems so.”

Yan Ye slapped his forehead: ”Am I wrong? Could it be that in the future, when I see that guy Qin Jian, I have to call him cousin?”

Qiushu’s face turned red: ”Who agreed to marry you? You’re thinking too far ahead.”

”So, you’re dating me, but you have no plans to marry me? Isn’t that playing hooligan?” Yan Ye looked at her seriously and said word by word.

”Pfft!” Qiushu spit out her drink, ”Are you mistaken? You’re the hooligan! How many times have you even seen her? Without a proper date, and you want to marry her?”

”Are you complaining about me? Well then, I’ll formally invite you: this weekend, I want to take you out. Do you accept?” Yan Ye asked with a smile on his lips.

”Sure! Since you’re so proactive, it wouldn’t be proper for me not to give you face. I accept, where’s the date location?” Qiushu asked casually.

”That... is to be decided.” Yan Ye was so busy day and night, if he really was going for a date, he would have to do some homework.

”Alright then. I’m looking forward to our first date.” Qiushu was full of anticipation.

But when the date day actually arrived, and she saw the location, Qiushu truly didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

The two were in the midst of an engaging conversation when there came a knock at the door.

”Come in,” Yan Ye called out.

The door opened, and Ji Chuan walked in, pointing at his watch, smiled at Yan Ye, and said: ”Director Ji, I have less than half an hour before my next surgery. I have something important to discuss with you. If you’ve had enough intimacy, could you spare some time for me?”

”Sorry. I’ve finished dealing with my matter. I’m leaving now! Director Ji, please come in to discuss work!” After saying that, Qiushu left with a smile on her face.
