Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1659: Chapter 1659: Extra Reward

”So, you must closely watch this warrior’s movements,” Qin Jian patted Zhao Dong’s shoulder heavily, ”consider it a request from me. You know how important Lin Sheng is to me! He and Mu Mian are my lifesavers! I can’t repay them enough for what they did for me in the past!”

The only thing he could do was to train Lin Sheng to become a fine and upright soldier!

Let Lin Sheng go farther and last longer in his military career!

”Commander, I understand! Rest assured, I will definitely complete the task you’ve given me diligently!” Zhao Dong assured Qin Jian.

”Good! Then go!” Qin Jian said.

Zhao Dong left, and Qin Jian sat alone on a chair, lost in thought.

In his mind, a plan about Lin Sheng was gradually forming, but he quickly shook his head and dismissed the idea.

Impossible, right?

Mere direct guesses and deductions aren’t enough.

What he needed was a series of evidence to support his conjectures.

But, given the current circumstances, it seemed impossible to find any evidence, so he would just have to take things one step at a time!

Zhao Dong went back.

But this piece of news was not announced until after all the warriors had finished their meal, and then he announced the nightmarish news.

All the warriors wailed non-stop.

This was simply a nightmare falling from the sky! No, it was not just a nightmare, it was a nightmare!

”Who among you can copy books quickly?” Zhao Dong asked.

As soon as the words were spoken, no one raised their hands!

”There’s a reward!”

At that, a bunch of people eagerly raised their hands!

Lin Sheng was among them, hearing that there was a reward for quick copying, he desperately raised his hand high, ”Platoon leader! Me, and me too!”

Lin Sheng laughed heartily, pointed at Lin Sheng, and said, ”You’re one of them!”

Afterward, he randomly picked a few more warriors.

That settled the lineup.

”I order each of you to finish your assigned copies within four days. Then, the reward will follow four days later,” Lin Dong said, then swaggered out of the unit’s small auditorium.

”Platoon leader! Please wait!” Lin Sheng pushed through the crowd and came running, asking in a negotiating tone, ”Platoon leader! Can I skip the reward?”

”No!” Zhao Dong glared.

Joking! How could he expect not to take a reward?

He had a thousand copies of things still to be copied! That was the reward!

”Platoon leader, I really don’t want the reward, I just have a small request,” Lin Sheng said.

Zhao Dong initially wanted to refuse without hesitation, but remembering the task Qin Jian had given him, he stopped and asked, ”Hmm, let’s hear your request.”

”I... could I exchange my reward for a day out?” Lin Sheng tentatively asked.

”What? You want to go out?” Zhao Dong decisively refused his request, ”No way! These are the regulations of the military! Fresh recruits are not allowed to leave the military area at will.”

”Platoon leader, just this once! I need to go out for something!” Lin Dong pleaded again.

”No!” Zhao Dong’s eyes widened as he stared at Lin Sheng, ”Lin Sheng, don’t think I’m easy to talk to and try to find a loophole with me! A rule is a rule! Do you know why I’m emphasizing the military regulations? It’s because you left the unit without permission this morning! You sneaked off to see the commander, causing the whole platoon to have to copy with you!”

”Platoon leader, I...”

”Lin Sheng! Can you tell me what exactly are you thinking? Why do you need to go out?” Zhao Dong questioned him.
