Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1662: Chapter 1662: Acknowledging Relatives

But if you look closely, what is written are actually two characters: Yaya.

”My nickname is Erya. So, the name on it must be Yaya. My sister is Daya...”

Before the elderly could finish speaking, Zhang Yun’s eyes were already moist.

The engraving on my mother’s jewelry was very clear. Indeed, it bore that name: ”I never understood what it meant. In our hardest of times, my mother refused to sell this pair of gold earrings. Now, I finally understand her intentions. However, I don’t understand why she never disclosed a word of this to me back then?”

”You’ve never experienced it. Naturally, you wouldn’t know of this tragic past; it’s heart-wrenching just to think of. After leaving home, your mother must have also undergone hardships and then, for some reasons, married your father!” The elder could imagine it.

My sister was kind and ambitious - to give herself in marriage to a man worlds apart could only be out of great adversity or immense gratitude for being rescued.

What happened back then is now unfathomable.

What’s important is she has found her kin now!

”Zhang Yun, logically, you should change the way you address me now. Call me...”

”Auntie!”

”Niece!”

As both finished speaking, they embraced each other, and the old person’s tears cascaded freely down her cheeks.

These were tears of happiness!

After half a century of searching, the elder had finally succeeded.

But what was truly regrettable was that two children from the Xiao Family had disappeared back then, one was my sister, and the other was a baby brother, still in swaddling clothes.

To clarify the whereabouts of her brother, Lin Qiushu made a special trip to see Wang the Cripple.

A dying man’s words are kind.

Wang the Cripple confessed his life’s regrets and ultimately informed Lin Qiushu that the child had died of an infection.

Just a few days after taking the child away from the Xiao Family, he fell ill.

Then, he heedlessly buried the child.

He didn’t make a penny from this child.

When Lin Qiushu brought back this news, the old lady nearly died of anger, angrily grasping her cane and insisting on settling the score with Wang the Cripple.

Nobody in the family could hold her back!

Finally, the family agreed to let the old lady act.

This heartache had been gnawing at her for half a century, and now that the opportunity had come, they let her have a look.

Whether it was to hit or to scold, it was all about letting the old person vent this pent-up rage.

To their surprise, when the old one went there, Wang the Cripple even opened the door for her.

And so, the elder harbored this grudge. She cursed outside the door for an entire day before leaving.

A week later, the Nancheng Morning News reported a story that caused a huge stir in society.

Wang the Cripple starved to death at home. By the time the neighbors discovered and reported it, his body had already decomposed, crawling with maggots.

That could be seen as divine justice, letting him endure a miserable old age.

In the end, he didn’t die a good death.

This affair had finally concluded.

As for Wang Jiu, after his death, the death notice was sent to his father, Wang the Cripple.

Wang the Cripple decisively abandoned his son’s corpse.

Later, through the efforts of the relevant departments, the body was donated to medical research and is now preserved in the cadaver pool of the Military Medical University for students to use in anatomy classes.
