Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1672: Chapter 1673: Reunion Dinner

”Thank you, Big Brother Qin. If I ever need anything, I’ll definitely speak up.” But it will definitely not be now.

”Good!”

Qin Jian took Mu Mian to the unit.

The scene at home was exceptionally lively.

Madam Xiao loved children, looking at the two kids in the baby carriage, she smiled so widely that her mouth wouldn’t close.

Her main task today was to take care of these two children with Ning Yibin.

All the other women in the house were busy in the kitchen.

An Hao was skilled at chores and cooked delicious meals, naturally playing the leading role.

The others were also helping out in the kitchen.

This small room of less than ten square meters was tightly filled with the four women standing in it.

Lin Qiushu’s mother was good at business but not at housework, wherever she was, she always made a mess of things.

Qiushu couldn’t stand it anymore and sent her mother out of the kitchen.

The three women in the kitchen coordinated very well together.

Soon it was noon and the steaming hot meals were ready.

The big round table was placed in the center of the living room, chairs were arranged around it, and it was time for the family reunion meal.

”Let’s sit down, everyone. First, let’s all have a drink together to celebrate our family’s reunion,” Ning Yibin called everyone to sit down.

”Let’s wait for Qin Jian. Since it’s a reunion meal, how could we start without him?” Madam Xiao said with a beaming smile.

”No need to wait for him,” An Hao guessed he wouldn’t be back anytime soon, ”Today he has to help that young lady arrange accommodation. And, since the young lady did him a favor, he will definitely want to express his gratitude. He’s probably going to treat them to a meal at noon, right?”

”You’re right, let’s not wait,” Zhang Yun decisively got everything prepared.

A big happy family sat down at the table, ready for the reunion meal.

”Here’s to the first drink,” Ning Yibin picked up his cup, speaking emotionally, ”It’s really not easy. After more than half a century, it’s so rare for relatives to meet again. Now our Ning Family has another relative to visit, which is indeed a cause for celebration!”

”Yes! Who would have thought? This happiness came quite unexpectedly,” Madam Xiao’s mood was extremely good, and she was all smiles.

”How unexpected? Mom, you’ve been waiting for this for more than half a century,” Qiushu’s mother laughed and said.

”Exactly. We found our relative after so much hardship. Let’s toast!” At Qiushu’s words, everyone’s cups clinked together making a clear sound.

After three rounds of drinks, the old lady took something out of her bag and handed it to Zhang Yun.

”This belonged to my sister. Now I’m giving it to you. Take good care of it,” she said.

Zhang Yun took it and, upon opening the box, saw it was the bracelet that An Hao had sold.

”This... now that it’s back in your hands, Auntie, you should keep it! After all, it’s a keepsake.”

”I’m someone about to be buried, what use do I have for it? You should keep it!” Madam Xiao refused to take the bracelet back.

”Well, if that’s the case, I’ll take it back!” Zhang Yun placed the bracelet back in the box, turned around, and handed it to An Hao, ”Here, take it! In the Qin Family, this bracelet was passed from mother-in-law to daughter-in-law. Now in our Ning Family, I pass it on to you to keep safely.”

An Hao smiled mischievously, took the brocade box with both hands: ”Since that’s the case, I won’t be polite. Thank you, Mom! Thank you, Great-Aunt!”

The item had gone full circle and ended up back in her hands.
