Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1678: Chapter 1679: Destroy Him

“Shut up!” Mu Qiankun roared.

“No, this is the very thing I’ve avoided all along. Even with the help of kind-hearted people, I’ve been hiding it. I can’t say it, can’t tell others that my father is a drug dealer!”

“Mianmian, enough!”

“Not enough! I have to speak out today, I must! The words that have been pent up for so many years, I need to vent them all today! I feel ashamed for you and even more guilty about my own concealment. My conscience is being tormented every day! Why?

Because you are my father, because I know you used to love me so much! I just want to find back that simple and kind-hearted father who used to work his land with his back towards the sky!

Not the father who’s like a demon now! Look at yourself, who’s still left around you? How many people are suffering and enduring pain because of you?

That mute man, his wonderful family was ruined by you, and he turned into what he is now.

Why should I help him? I’ve said it, more than once, I’m doing it to atone for your sins!”

As soon as the above words were spoken, Mu Qiankun lifted his hand and slapped him hard across the face.

“You shut your mouth!” Mu Qiankun roared, “No matter how I am with others, I’ve always loved you! I’ve only done all this to give you a better life!”

“I don’t need it! I can’t persuade you to turn back, but I don’t want you to die either. Now, all I want is to take Lin Sheng away, at the very least he and I should take a bright path.” Mu Mian spoke with tears in her eyes, covering her slapped face.

“Well then, go ahead and leave!” Unexpectedly, Mu Qiankun agreed.

“If we’re leaving, then we will leave!” Mu Mian said and reached for Lin Sheng’s hand.

But suddenly, she realized Lin Sheng seemed a bit off from usual.

His gaze was dull, he looked extremely lethargic, even yawning incessantly, with snot and tears streaming down his face.

“What have you done to him?” Mu Mian’s eyes widened in shock at the sight.

“We just had him inhale something different. Also, injected him with something to sedate him, to keep him from being overly agitated,” Mu Qiankun said with a smile.

“Mu Qiankun, you’re utterly despicable!” Mu Mian screamed hysterically, “How could you do such a thing! Lin Sheng has always treated you like family! How could you bear to do this to him! You lured him out of the army under false pretenses and ruined him like this!!!”

“No choice. If you won’t come back with us, we can only resort to this method,” the tall man said with an innocent expression.

They all knew that Lin Sheng liked Mu Mian, so saying that there was trouble at home, Lin Sheng would certainly come rushing back no matter what.

“You come back and ignore Father’s gunshot wound, but you’re instead so concerned about your Lin Sheng,” Mu Qiankun yelled furiously.

“He deserves it!!” Mu Mian gave him two words. He knew about that sensational case in Nancheng City, where one person wasn’t caught.

It was his father, Mu Qiankun.

From an honest and simple farmer, he had turned into an unabashed drug dealer.

He had even committed an unforgivable sin.

“You…” Mu Qiankun was almost choked with rage.

Mu Mian fiercely gritted her teeth and slapped her own face twice: “I hate myself! Why don’t I have the courage to do what is right and eliminate the evil!”

“Lock them up! Don’t let them take a single step outside!”

…………

It’s already been a full ten days since Mu Mian left, with no news from Lin Sheng.

Qin Jian was getting restless.
