Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1647: Chapter 1647: I’ve Taken a Liking to This Young Man

“Alright. You two chat. I’m going to do my rounds!” Qin Jian got up, slung his stethoscope around his neck, and left.

Only the grandmother and granddaughter were left in the patient room.

“Qiushu, let me tell you, this Director Yan Ye is really not bad. Look at how handsome he is, like a fine gentleman! Heard he was even brought back from overseas as a specialist! His surgeries are beautifully done, and he’s a genuinely good person.” The elderly woman liked Yan Ye more and more as she looked at him.

Lin Qiushu pursed her lips and smiled, “Grandma, didn’t you used to tell me all the time that when looking for a man, it should be a good match? If the families are mismatched, living in different environments, there won’t be much common language.”

“Did I say that?” The old woman chuckled, “But this young man does look quite good. So what if it’s not a good match?”

“Grandma, are you belittling the suitor?” Lin Qiushu giggled along too.

“Qiushu, grandma has lived a long life and I’m pretty accurate at judging people! I think this young man is really nice, a rare find! Grandma has taken a fancy to him, so I command you: you have six months to win him over for me,” the old woman said seriously.

“Pfft!” Lin Qiushu couldn’t help but burst into laughter, “To win him over? Do you think your granddaughter has that ability?”

“Of course. I believe in you!”

“Alright! I will strive to win him over within six months.” Lin Qiushu agreed, then leaned in close to the old woman and whispered, “Grandma, you can look forward to it…”

“Really?” The old woman’s eyes lit up, “Is there a story between you two?”

Lin Qiushu nodded and said shyly with a smile, “It’s not settled yet. I’ve just agreed to try dating him for now.”

“Oh my, such good news and you didn’t tell me sooner, making grandma worry unnecessarily.” The lines on the old woman’s face seemed to smooth out, “I always knew my Qiushu is the most considerate! Of all my children, you’re the one who comforts grandma’s heart the most.”

“So, since that’s the case, remember our agreement, Grandma. You’ll have to obediently undergo surgery, and then you’ll watch the relationship between me and Yan Ye blossom… you can’t… leave me first…” Lin Qiushu said, her voice choking up.

“Don’t worry! Grandma’s going to live to a hundred years old. I still need to take care of my little Qiushu’s kids.”

“Grandma…” Qiushu’s nose felt sour and her eyes reddened. She rested her head on the old woman’s body and said, “We have a deal. No one is allowed to break their promise!”

“Okay!” The old woman gently stroked Qiushu’s face and murmured, “You’ve lost weight! My Qiushu has gotten thinner these past few days!”

“No, I haven’t. How could I lose weight?” Lin Qiushu straightened up and wiped away her tears, “It’s just been a few days since we last saw each other, maybe you’re just missing me too much?”

“No, you really have lost weight! Tell grandma, what exactly happened in these few days? You’re really okay, right?” The old woman knew this child well; despite Qiushu appearing to be fragile and delicate, she was much stronger than anyone on the inside.

“It’s really nothing. You can relax, Grandma. I actually owe it all to Captain Qin this time. To be honest, I was kidnapped by the son of Wang the cripple…”

“You see. I kept telling you not to go alone. You wouldn’t listen to grandma, and now look what happened. Have you learned your lesson now?” the old woman said, unable to hold back.

“Grandma, at the time of the incident, Wang Jiu had no idea why I was there. He kidnapped me simply because I had ruined his money-making scheme…”
