Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1603: Chapter 1603: Whispers in the Ear

”Boss, why not use it to offset the debts? Your Nanguofeng has nothing left now! It’s going to be seized by the court and auctioned off. By then, it won’t be yours anymore. Maybe you should offset the debts to Mr. Hou, and perhaps he will remember the past kindness and you might be able to buy it back later with money,” Secretary Zhang said.

”Even now he refuses to help me, how can I expect any help in the future? Do you think I have a chance for a comeback?” Guan Qing laughed loudly, tears streaming down her cheeks.

”Boss, think about it! We are doing this not for Mr. Hou, but for your future. I believe you can make a comeback! You are always the sharpest and most daring boss in my eyes.”

”Really?”

”Of course. I know a bit about Mr. Hou’s situation; he’s indeed facing some difficulties. But, that’s human nature, you can’t expect him to ruin his own business to help you, right? Think about it?” Secretary Zhang had been gently persuading, always considering Guan Qing’s interest in his words, knowing exactly what he himself was scheming.

”Alright. Then help me contact Mr. Hou,” Guan Qing said weakly, propping up her head.

”Don’t be disheartened,” Secretary Zhang smiled, ”Boss, have you forgotten? You haven’t reclaimed that vegetable company yet.”

”Right!” A spark finally appeared in Guan Qing’s eyes, ”I can mortgage that vegetable company first, and then mortgage my Nanguofeng! Go, Secretary Zhang, get the vegetable company registered under Guan Ping now.”

Contrary to Guan Qing’s expectations, she thought An Ping would stubbornly refuse to give up the company. But she was wrong.

An Ping signed the mortgage document very quickly.

Everything has come to a critical juncture, and Guan Qing no longer had time to think too much. Nanguofeng was already collapsing, and it seemed she no longer had the chance to turn things around.

Just hurry up and sort out this mess, the sooner it’s done, the sooner it’s over.

Guan Qing felt that she had never been so mentally exhausted in her life as in these two days.

After acquiring An Ping’s company, she took her secretary directly to meet Mr. Hou. They agreed to meet in a cafe.

”Ms. Guan, I’m so glad you finally came. I’ve been waiting for your rescue, my company... Ah, it’s really hard to put it into words...” Hou Zicheng covered his face and sobbed twice, ”Luckily, you came, I was really worried you wouldn’t pay me!”

Guan Qing looked at Hou Zicheng with some gratitude: ”Over the years, I’ve made a few good friends in the business world, but after this incident, everyone avoided me. Only you were willing to talk to me. Mr. Hou, let’s not talk nonsense, shall we just talk about the money?”

”Is there even a need to discuss? You just give me as much as you owe me. I won’t take the interest anymore, just consider it a favor between friends,” Hou Zicheng spoke nicely.

”But, I can’t pay you now...” Guan Qing explained her plight to Hou Zicheng, ”Look, I’ve borrowed a lot of money from you, but I can’t return cash now. How about this... I just acquired the vegetable company, I’ll mortgage it to you.”

”This...” Hou Zicheng seemed embarrassed, ”That vegetable company is smashed up so bad, and besides, I’m not planning to run a vegetable wholesale... Frankly, that company isn’t worth much...”
