Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1638: Chapter 1638: How Can One Stand Idly By

“Alright. Since you said so, I will tell you. How could a soldier’s wife not have a strong heart?” Qin Jian chose to tell An Hao the truth, “Tonight, at midnight, I will participate in a rescue operation.”

“Rescuing Qiushu?” An Hao guessed immediately.

“Yes.” Qin Jian nodded in acknowledgment.

“Isn’t this a police operation? Why do you have to go? Besides, you are really bold, even bringing out guns!” An Hao was stunned by Qin Jian’s actions.

In his impression, this man was almost always adhering to strict discipline, rarely acting so impulsively.

Qin Jian grinned: “I am the commander after all! Isn’t drawing a gun an easy task for me? Moreover, we are just eliminating violence for peace!”

“Yes. Go ahead! I support you, but you must be even more careful. Make sure no danger comes your way, my heart can’t take any more shocks!” An Hao said firmly, holding his hand.

“Don’t worry! I promise I will come back unscathed.” Qin Jian assured her.

“Yes!” Although An Hao nodded, she was still worried. Although Qin Jian didn’t tell her much, An Hao was very clear in her heart, since he had drawn a firearm, it indicated that the situation was quite serious.

Could it be that they were about to encounter a gunfight?

Seeing An Hao’s anxiety, Qin Jian knew that unless he explained clearly, she would be too worried to sleep.

So Qin Jian said: “My marksmanship is the best in the army! I can take down an enemy with a single shot, and my shooting speed broke the army’s record. I am agile, the champion of the military district’s decathlon. The criminals we are facing are just a few minor drug dealers, rest assured! I guarantee there won’t be any problems.”

An Hao was still worried about Qin Jian, but Lin Qiushu is a friend, a friend who has helped them multiple times, no matter what they could not just sit back and do nothing.

Otherwise, she would feel guilty.

As a person, you can’t be too selfish! Relatives and friends, though they might bring troubles, also provide the firmest support when you are in your most painful moments.

Therefore, despite her worries, she would not stop Qin Jian.

In other words, if Lin Qiushu could confirm that this photo was indeed her missing aunt’s, then the relationship between Qin Jian and Qiushu would become even closer, as they are his relatives!

How could he not rescue a family member in distress?

She wasn’t sure if others could do this, but An Hao and Qin Jian certainly couldn’t just stand by.

“Do you feel confident about this operation?” An Hao asked.

“Yes. One hundred percent success!” Qin Jian declared definitively.

“Good. I’ll be waiting at home for your good news.”

“When I return safely, you have to reward me properly. Cook your best dishes and have a few drinks with me!”

“I promise you.”

At eleven o’clock in the night, Qin Jian changed his clothes, ready to leave.

An Hao rose and hugged him from behind, besides saying ‘Be careful’, she had no other words.

Qin Jian lowered his head and kissed his wife’s forehead, then turned and left.

An Hao stood on the upper floor, watching Qin Jian, watching his majestic figure gradually disappear into the night.

………

Fujia Village, around the abandoned old house, the chief of the criminal police team and the ambush team were ready, just waiting for everyone to be in position to rush in and rescue.
