Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1609: Chapter 1609: A Woman Adorns Herself for the Man Who Pleases Her

The couple went out and bought a pile of groceries, not missing chicken, duck, fish, or meat.

After returning, Qin Jian told Zhang Yun about the invitation to the Qin Family for a meal.

Zhang Yun cheerfully agreed: ”Sure, no problem. It’s just two more pairs of chopsticks, right?”

”You’re wrong. It’s four more pairs of chopsticks,” An Hao laughed.

”That’s still okay. More people means more fun! You should clean up the place this morning to clear a big space, so we can all have a great time.”

It had been a very long time since the house had seen such lively activity.

This time, there had been a fair amount of troubles at home, and many people had lent a helping hand; they hadn’t properly thanked each of them one by one.

The Yan Family had particularly helped a lot just for the affairs concerning Qin Jian.

It was a good opportunity to also thank Old Yan and his family.

After breakfast, the whole family started getting busy.

It happened to be Sunday, and neither Ning Yibin nor Qin Jian had to go to the army.

The two grown men were left to watch the kids.

An Hao and her mother-in-law Zhang Yun were busy preparing the sumptuous lunch.

For a time, the atmosphere at home was filled with joy and merriment.

.........................

Lin Qiushu got up early and spent some time dressing up at the vanity.

She changed clothes one after another in her wardrobe.

Finally, she was holding two pieces of clothing, hesitating which to choose.

Just then, her grandmother walked in, saw the clothes scattered all over the bed, and couldn’t help laughing.

”Getting all dressed up, where are you planning to go? Got your eye on some dashing young fellow?”

Lin Qiushu’s face turned red at her grandmother’s tease, but she refused to admit it: ”What are you talking about? I’m just going to visit An Hao’s home.”

”Really?” the old lady’s sharp eyes showed disbelief, ”Who are you fooling? Just to visit An Hao’s place, since when do you spend so much time getting dressed in front of a mirror?”

”Yes, so what? It’s only proper not to dress poorly when visiting someone’s home, isn’t it?”

After saying that, Lin Qiushu quickly added, ”Besides, I have to make a trip to Wang Lame’s place this morning. So, I need to choose clothes that are not only pretty but also convenient to move in.”

”What? You’re going to Wang Lame’s place this morning? Since you’ve agreed to visit today, just focus on that. There’s no hurry to go to Wang Lame’s, I’ll go with you another time,” said the old lady.

”There’s no need for that, Grandma. Just wait for my news at home,” Lin Qiushu said.

”No way!” the old lady firmly refused Lin Qiushu’s plans, ”You’re not allowed to go to Wang Lame’s today. That man is capable of all evils, how can I be at ease with you going there alone?”

”Grandma, he’s already old. I’ve also taken some time to ask around about the area. He’s now old and sick, and there’s no one to take care of him. To put it bluntly, he’s just waiting to die. What can a dying man do to me?”

Could she possibly not be able to handle a man on his deathbed?

Besides, she was going just to gather information.

This incident had already been half a century ago. There was no reason for Wang Lame, for something that happened so long ago, to still cause trouble for her now.

”He may be old, but that doesn’t rule out the possibility of him having descendants,” the old lady viewed Wang Lame with wariness, ”What kind of good sons could a person who’s rotten from head to toe raise?”

”Grandma, you’re really overthinking it. His own children don’t even take care of him,” Lin Qiushu had already investigated thoroughly.

She had been helping both An Hao and An Ping lately, but she had not neglected her own affairs.

She had obtained the address and did not rashly seek out Wang Lame.
