Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1641: Chapter 1641: Let’s Make a Deal

”Wang Jiu! We meet again.” Qin Jian’s restrained gaze bore down between Wang Jiu’s brows, his thin lips slightly parted to gently utter a sentence.

A flicker of astonishment crossed Wang Jiu’s eyes, followed by a moment of panic, which he quickly concealed: ”Commander Qin! Who would have thought you would take matters into your own hands? It seems this woman in my grasp is quite important to you.”

”Yes. You’re right,” Qin Jian did not deny.

This response genuinely surprised Wang Jiu.

To dare so openly acknowledge, how much confidence must he have in himself?

Confident enough to believe he could take the hostage away unharmed from his clutches.

”It seems you are truly overconfident. She’s in my hands, my gun barrel is aimed right at her temple, if I pull the trigger at this moment, she wouldn’t last even twenty seconds before dying,” Wang Jiu said.

”Yes, I am indeed very confident.” Qin Jian also drew out his gun, loaded it in front of Wang Jiu, and aimed at Wang Jiu’s head, ”Want to see whose hand is faster, yours or mine?”

”Hahahaha! You must be joking, don’t underestimate me! However, I’m not going to kill her.” Wang Jiu’s mouth twisted into a wry smile, ”If I kill the hostage now, I know I won’t be leaving this place.”

”Hmph.” Qin Jian scoffed, ”Do you think by not killing the hostage, you can escape legal punishment? Do I need to list all your crimes for you?”

”No need.” Wang Jiu shouted irritably, he was well aware of his own crimes, enough to be executed several times over.

”Then all I can tell you is, it would be a wise choice to let me take the person away obediently. If you choose to confront me, I regret to say you shouldn’t have come back,” Qin Jian said.

Wang Jiu didn’t intend to return either, but he had no choice since their group was surrounded by the police—it was like trapping turtles in a jar. He had also tried to escape in all directions, only to be caught or shot dead nonetheless.

Just when good days seemed within reach, how could his life end so easily here?

”No! I won’t let go! If I let go, it’s a dead-end for me, holding a hostage might still leave a path alive! Unless I’m an idiot! Otherwise, I’d rather die than let go,” Wang Jiu exclaimed vehemently.

”Wang Jiu! Let go of me, I can plead on your behalf, ask Commander Qin to let you go! He only wants to take me away, you want money, don’t you? I don’t need the car, you can sell it anytime. Consider it a gift from me...” Lin Qiushu, still unclear about the current situation, tried to sway him with her words.

”You don’t need to waste your breath on him. He’s not holding you for money now, but to save his own life! Even if I don’t kill him, he would still die by someone else’s gun,” Qin Jian stated coldly and clearly.

Having said that, the color drained from Wang Jiu’s face.

Having managed in the underworld for so long, Wang Jiu had always had an easy time, but twice he had fallen into the hands of this commander in front of him.

After getting out of prison, he had inquired about this commander. Wang Jiu knew how formidable he was.

If not necessary, he truly didn’t want to clash with him.

But now that they had clashed, he had to consider carefully how to survive.

”Let’s make a deal?” Wang Jiu tried to negotiate with Qin Jian.
