Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 348: Chapter 348: Stand Up for Her

After he finished speaking, everyone lined up to get their backpacks.

When it was An Hao’s turn, she casually picked one up to put it on her back, but Tian Niu stopped her, ”Change to a different one.”

An Hao was somewhat baffled, but she still did as he said.

When it came to Guan Kexin’s turn, he took out that backpack and handed it to Guan Kexin.

Guan Kexin felt the backpack was a bit heavy, she turned her head and asked Tian Niu, ”Is this really just twenty kilograms?”

”What do you think? Stop wasting time and get moving!”

Thus, in the rain and wind, Tian Niu led the team off.

The large truck took the students to the outskirts of the city, where there were few cars and the roads were uneven, perfect for cross-country running.

An Hao, carrying the backpack, was very skeptical. Was this really a twenty-kilogram backpack?

It felt so much lighter than the one she had initially picked up!

An Hao was pondering this when she turned her head and saw Guan Kexin, who looked as exhausted as can be carrying that backpack, and in an instant, she seemed to understand something.

Guan Kexin felt as though the backpack on her back weighed a ton, pressing her down so much she couldn’t straighten her back.

The rain grew heavier, and she stumbled, falling over with a splash, a sharp pain shooting through her knee. She got up, rolled up her trouser leg, and saw that a layer of skin had been scraped off the knee, exposing the raw, red flesh underneath.

She had never gone through such hardship before. Seeing her leg was injured, she stopped there to wait for Tian Niu.

When he caught up to her, she pointed at the wound on her knee and said to Tian Niu with a pitiable look, ”Instructor Tian, my leg is scraped! Can I still run?”

”You can!” Tian Niu was surprisingly quick to agree.

Guan Kexin hadn’t had the chance to be happy when she heard the next sentence, and her spirits fell.

”You don’t have to run, but we won’t be returning by this road. You figure it out.”

”Ah? Does that mean I’ll just be waiting here for nothing?”

”That’s right.”

”Then I might as well keep running!” Guan Kexin pouted her lips and continued to follow. Having been pampered since childhood, how could she endure such torment?

Carrying a backpack that was ten kilograms heavier than everyone else’s, she stumbled along the way.

If she fell, she would get up and run a few steps before falling again, repeating this over and over.

Before even reaching the destination, she was beaten into a muddy mess, with numerous injuries on her legs.

An Hao, witnessing this scene, finally understood what Tian Niu meant by taking revenge for her, so that was it.

Even though Tian Niu’s actions were a bit underhanded, An Hao didn’t feel a bit of sympathy for Guan Kexin.

She got what she deserved!

Nevertheless, Guan Kexin struggled to continue running with the team. The injury on her knee was painful, yet she clenched her teeth and persevered.

”One two one, one two one,” the rhythmic shouting of numbers came from nearby.

An Hao turned her head and noticed another group keeping pace with them.

Upon closer inspection, she saw a cross-country vehicle following behind the group.

The car window was rolled down, and the person sitting inside was Qin Jian.

She gestured towards Qin Jian with her hand.

Qin Jian seemed to have seen her too, his lips curling into a smile for her.

An Hao was preoccupied with Qin Jian’s smile and didn’t notice the puddle under her feet. She stepped into it, and her body swayed and fell to the ground.

The knee that was already injured hit the ground first, striking a rock and causing such severe pain that An Hao broke out in a cold sweat along her spine and nearly passed out.

Qin Jian thought An Hao had merely taken a tumble.

As the vehicle slowly passed by, he noticed she was clutching her knee and hadn’t gotten up for quite some time.

At that moment, Tian Niu, who was leading the group, bolted over. Seeing An Hao’s pale cheeks, he knew something was definitely wrong with her injured leg. He scooped her up from the ground in an instant.
