Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 311: Chapter 309: Yan Family Siblings

”Sure. Then go grab a couple for me to try on,” the girl said cheerfully.

”Alright! Just a moment!” the store owner said, and after taking two pairs of pants off the shelves, handed them to the girl.

After trying them on in the back and finding she liked them quite a bit, she said to the owner, ”Let’s go with three pairs.”

”Three pairs? You got it!” Selling three pairs of pants in one go made the owner very happy, so much so that he practically bounced as he walked.

”Tell me Yan Huan, can you really wear three pairs of the exact same pants?” asked the man who had been accompanying the girl as she shopped for clothes.

His voice was clear and very pleasant to the ear, like pearls dropping onto a jade plate, somewhat resembling Qin Jian’s voice, yet lacking the presence and special magnetism in Qin Jian’s.

Upon suddenly hearing such a voice, An Hao, who had been engrossed in her ledger behind the counter, looked up towards the man.

She saw that he was handsome with distinct features, and his eyes were bright and alert, resembling the girl’s to some extent.

The moment An Hao lifted her head, the man caught sight of her as well.

His gaze lingered on An Hao’s face for a moment and then shifted away.

”What’s the matter, comrade Yan Ye? Are you hesitant to spend money from your pockets? Today you agreed that whether it’s to watch a movie, eat out, or buy clothes, you’re the one footing the bill. You’re not going to back out now, are you?”

The man called Yan Ye slightly curved the corners of his mouth, ”I won’t go back on my word. I just think you won’t have many chances to wear them in the future!”

”You needn’t worry about that. What if I just buy them and let them sit at the foot of my bed to look at, huh?” Yan Huan said with a smile to him, then turned to the shopkeeper pointing at the three pairs of pants, ”Could you please pack these up for me. As for the payment, get it from him!”

”Sure, I won’t worry,” the man said, taking out his wallet and pulling out a hundred RMB note to give to the store owner.

The store owner, reluctant to let go of the handsome bill, said, ”Why don’t you try on a couple of pairs of jeans as well? We don’t just have women’s clothing here, we’ve got men’s too!”

Yan Ye pursed his lips, silent, with a displeased expression in his eyes as they rested on the store owner’s face.

He didn’t like engaging in small talk with people who talked too much.

Except with his own sister—Yan Huan.

The store owner was perceptive, and realizing Yan Ye’s mood, quickly understood what the customer was thinking.

”Alright, forget I said anything. Here’s your change,” he said.

As Yan Ye stretched out his hand to take the money, An Hao noticed his hands were fair and slender, quite beautiful.

At that moment, a term suddenly flashed through An Hao’s mind: scalpel.

As An Hao was pondering his profession, she suddenly heard a commotion at the door; before she had the chance to stand up and see what was happening, a group of people dressed in denim jackets and sporting curly hair, carrying wooden sticks, barged in.

As soon as they entered, the man with the little mustache shouted, ”Who’s the store owner? Step forward!”

The store owner, suddenly surrounded by so many people, was a bit dumbfounded.

What was this situation?

”You the store owner?” the little mustache man pointed at him and demanded, ”Do you know what we’re here for today?”

How could the store owner know?

Faced with the menacing crowd, he started to feel fear as well, ”Hold on, what are you up to, big brother? I don’t know you, have you got the wrong place, the wrong person?”

The little mustache man glared fiercely, ”Not the wrong person, it’s you I’m looking for! I’m here today to discuss some business with you!”
