Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 333: Chapter 331: Brother Yan

Gu Shuangshuang was unconvinced, ”Yinuo, how can you be such a scaredy-cat! Guan Kexin is just a student. I can’t believe she would dare ask her grandpa to demote my dad just over something I said. To be honest, I don’t think her grandpa would do such a thing. After all, he’s a provincial leader. If he knew she was making a fuss like this, he’d probably reprimand her before anything else, let alone protect her! If her grandpa really behaved that way one day, then I would really have no respect for our provincial leader.”

”Shuangshuang, why are you always so sharp-tongued? When you speak, you should at least show some tact! And you really need to stop being so nosy. Guan Kexin and An Hao have a feud, why are you sticking your nose into it? Just thinking about Guan Kexin’s temper as the young lady she is, it’s frightening. If you offend her, you’re definitely not going to have a good time,” Xu Yinuo reasoned.

”So we just keep quiet? Watch her bully An Hao? What did An Hao ever do to her?” Gu Shuangshuang was really angry. She had known Xu Yinuo since childhood, and while she was mostly a good person, this aspect of her personality was exactly what Gu Shuangshuang hated the most.

”Haven’t you noticed Zhang Juan and Lei Linxuan are also not saying anything? You shouldn’t be taking up for others so strongly!” Xu Yinuo advised Gu Shuangshuang.

”They are them, I am me! Yinuo, isn’t that how you got to know me in the first place?”

”Gu Shuangshuang! I really do want the best for you!”

”Xu Yinuo! If you’re my friend, stop being so timid.”

The voices inside the house became almost loud enough to start an argument, making An Hao feel it wasn’t appropriate to enter at the time—this would only escalate the conflict and cause Xu Yinuo to lose face.

The best thing to do was to leave them alone for a while.

Still incensed, Guan Kexin stormed to the faculty building behind the school and hammered on the door of room 502. It took a long time before Yan Ye, wearing slippers, came to answer the door. As soon as he saw Guan Kexin standing there, he slammed the door shut with a bang.

”Yan Ye! Yan Ye! Open the door!” Guan Kexin yelled and screamed in the hallway, attracting the other residents to open their doors and look at her.

Some even criticized her directly, ”You must be one of the new university students, right? Do you know what time it is? Standing in front of a professor’s door, calling their name out and knocking impolitely!”

Since the building was occupied by faculty members, Guan Kexin, no matter how audacious she was, dared not talk back to the teachers, especially given their advanced age.

”I’m sorry, teacher.” Guan Kexin sheepishly admitted her mistake and then started to knock softly, knowing Yan Ye was deliberately not letting her in.

Seeing that this approach wasn’t working, she started sobbing dramatically at the door, ”Brother Yan, my grandpa asked you to look after me at school. But now that I’ve been bullied, you turn a blind eye! If you don’t care about me, I’ll take the bus to find my grandpa tonight!”

Yan Ye, annoyed by the noise, opened the door and pulled Guan Kexin inside, ”Guan Kexin, can you act a bit more maturely? You’re eighteen this year, not eight. From now on, call me Uncle Yan, never ’Brother Yan’ again. I’m of the same generation as your little uncle, got it?”

Guan Kexin pouted with an aggrieved expression, ”I got it, Brother Yan!”

Yan Ye: ”...”

”Brother Yan, can you come with me to the dorm for a bit? I’m a germaphobe, and it feels dirty with people sitting on my lower bunk, but that hateful girl just stands on the upper bunk and refuses to swap with me,” Guan Kexin complained.

”That’s an issue between you students, solve it yourselves! I’m a teacher at this school; how can I get involved in this matter?” Yan Ye refused once again.
