Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 344: Chapter 342: Take Her Back

Qin Jian smiled. ”Then go find one quickly!”

”Can’t find any!” Tian Niu lamented with a sorrowful face, ”Do you think a girl would fancy someone looking like me? Ah, the more we talk, the more tears I get! Master Liu, stop the car at the junction ahead, I’ll get off there!”

After Tian Niu got off, the car continued on its way.

Qin Jian sensed his chest becoming heavier and hotter; he looked down at An Hao and found that she had fallen asleep.

”This period must have exhausted you,” he said with a smile, reaching out to caress An Hao’s cheek, only to find that her temperature was somewhat hot to the touch.

How could she suddenly have a fever, Qin Jian quickly asked Liu Jun to drive faster and took An Hao to the Provincial People’s Hospital.

After examining An Hao, the doctor said to Qin Jian, ”Let’s treat the wound on the leg first. This wound isn’t fresh, is it? It looks like it’s from a day or two ago, wasn’t properly treated, and has gotten a bit inflamed. This time it’s a re-injury. The bone’s alright, but the wound is quite deep. It needs to be properly treated and stitched up with a couple of stitches!”

”And her fever, what’s causing that?” Qin Jian asked anxiously.

”Inflammation combined with catching a cold from the rain, just need to take some medicine and she’ll be fine. Let me treat her wound first.”

”Okay.”

The doctor began to stitch An Hao’s wound with needle and thread, and seeing her eyes fixedly watching, the doctor smiled, thinking she was nervous, ”If you’re scared, just close your eyes and don’t watch.”

”I’m not afraid. I’m a medical student, and I’m studying clinical medicine. I will have to pick up a scalpel to perform surgery on patients in the future!” An Hao said.

”Well done!” The doctor had treated countless patients’ wounds; especially young girls tend to be scared of blood and stitches, but it was rare to see a girl like An Hao.

With such a cooperative patient, the doctor felt more relaxed, got the needle threaded and ready to stitch her wound, but as soon as the needle went in, An Hao let out a sharp scream, ”Ah!!”

The doctor jumped, nearly dropping the forceps, ”Weren’t you not afraid?”

An Hao’s eyes brimmed with tears, ”I’m not afraid of stitches, but I’m afraid of pain!” especially since she already had a wound, and it had to be stitched up on top of that – it would be strange if it didn’t hurt!

”If it hurts, then pinch me,” Qin Jian offered, extending his arm.

”Mhm,” An Hao nodded, biting down hard on her teeth, watching the doctor stitch away, breaking out in a sweat.

”Done, all finished. Take care these next few days to not get the wound wet with water or sweat to avoid infection,” after giving instructions, the doctor prescribed some medicine for An Hao.

Under everyone’s watchful eyes, Qin Jian carried her back to the car.

”Qin, where are we headed?” Liu Jun inquired.

”Take me back to school,” An Hao said weakly.

”Let’s go to my unit’s guesthouse. You’re running a fever, I can’t rest easy letting you go back alone,” Qin Jian suggested.

Liu Jun booked a room at the guesthouse.

Qin Jian lifted An Hao from the car, carrying her as he was about to head upstairs when he happened upon Jian Ying who had just come out from the guesthouse.

Jian Ying had been away giving a touring report for two months.

”Jian Ying, when did you get back? You were gone quite a while for your report,” Qin Jian remarked.

”You sure have the nerve to complain about how troublesome it is to give a report instead of going yourself, leaving me to run all over the place. After doing reports for two months, I nearly vomited from it. I was dreaming about giving reports!” Jian Ying vented his grievances; he received plenty of applause and flowers, but it was truly tedious and monotonous.
