Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 305: Chapter 304: Do you want to taste it?

”You’ve got quite the nerve!” An Hao eyed him sidelong. ”Not content with cheating me out of my share of the profits, now you even want to take away the person!”

The shopkeeper chuckled, ”Since ancient times, a fair lady is a gentleman’s good match!”

”Enough, step back!” An Hao warned with a stern face. ”If you go on like this, we can’t continue doing business. Don’t waste your time thinking about me; I’m already engaged.”

”Ah? You’re not kidding me, are you? Won’t you consider me? I’m a fine young man, self-reliant, entrepreneurial, hardworking, smart, and capable. I’m bound to make a big success one day. If you don’t choose me, you’ll really regret it.”

An Hao rolled her eyes at him. ”You sure have a slick tongue! If the clothing store goes under, you could go to Tianqiao and make a living telling cross-talk.”

”Come on, don’t curse me and our business like that!”

”Then why aren’t you backing off? If you don’t, I’ll really have to be rude!” An Hao warned verbally, then raised her leg and patted her knee. ”Want to taste it?”

Seeing this, the shopkeeper’s enthusiasm cooled off immediately. ”I think... I still prefer gentle and quiet girls. You’re too spicy and violent... better leave you to your fiancé.”

An Hao got on the vehicle and went with the shopkeeper to a clothing factory in the town, where they transported all the remaining fabric to make jeans.

An Hao felt that compared to women, young men had better purchasing power.

She suggested that the shopkeeper not only focus on women’s clothing but also sell men’s jeans, which would improve business. Plus, a white shirt with jeans was a classic combination, so she recommended ordering a bunch of shirts as well.

The shopkeeper thought her advice made a lot of sense, so he followed An Hao’s suggestion.

With this contract signed, all three parties were very satisfied.

Deep down, the shopkeeper felt that partnering with An Hao had been the right choice. Before, he always followed market trends and stocked up from wholesalers based on hearsay.

But now that he had met An Hao, who found a clothing factory for him, he saved a lot on the overhead costs, which drastically reduced expenses and significantly increased profit margins.

Therefore, he was very willing to give An Hao her share of the money.

After the contract was signed, he wanted to drive An Hao back to town, but she refused.

There were too many gossips in the village; who knows what they would think if they saw her.

So, less is more. She preferred to walk back on her own.

An Hao, with five hundred yuan in her pocket, returned to the village and bought a lot of food at the credit union before heading back.

The An Family was well-known for being poor in the village, usually wearing the worst clothes and eating the simplest food. Abruptly, An Hao, dressed in the fashionable jeans and white shirt, carrying an array of fruits, eggs, pork, and even the expensive cake, caught the attention of the entire village as she walked home.

There were always those with thin skins and a penchant for meddling who, upon seeing this, would make snide remarks: ”Wow, An Hao, looks like you’re rolling in cash now? Dressed better, eating high-class foods too! You really turned from a wild fowl to a phoenix!”

”Indeed, she latched on to the future battalion commander. Besides the dowry of over two thousand yuan, the battalion commander’s monthly salary is over a hundred. It’s true what they say – being young and pretty is an advantage, and having a good figure beats anything else!”

An Hao glanced at these people. It was always the same few who made sarcastic comments. She didn’t hold back either and retorted sharply, ”That’s right! Even if I’m a wild fowl, at least I can become a phoenix. Unlike some people, who are ugly and have bad figures, in my opinion, they can only ever be wild fowls, destined to spend their lives in a chicken coop!”
