Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 799: Huangfu Shouʼs Death

Helian Yueyi held the hongxi dagger with trembling hands, pointing it at Huangfu Shou, who was standing in front of her with a flat gaze. ”Husband, I—”

”I wonʼt blame you, so you can kill me and save our children, wife.” Huangfu Shou calmly spoke.

”But—”

”Do it!” Huangfu Shou shouted at his wife.

”I—”

”Kill me!”

”Sorry... Iʼm... sorry...” Helian Yueyi said it with tears in her eyes, and she immediately thrust the dagger toward her husband.

Clang

Before the dagger pierced Huangfu Shouʼs chest, Zhang Fei [5] slapped Helian Yueyiʼs hand first, causing it to slip out of her hand and fall to the floor.

Helian Yueyi looked at Zhang Fei [5] with a puzzled look, but he turned to Shang Yumei, who immediately knocked her unconscious and supported her. ”I thought you would really let her kill her husband.”

”Do you two think I was too cruel to her?” Zhang Fei [5] asked as he pulled the Hongxi dagger back into his hand.

”Yes!” Both women answered simultaneously.

Hong Xinxin then spoke to him. ”You were too cruel to her, especially since you forced her to choose between her husbandʼs life and the lives of her children. In my opinion, you should kill them directly instead of doing something like this to her, and she wouldnʼt have to suffer like this.”

”You still owe Yaolin an explanation, remember?” Zhang Fei [5] raised his eyebrows in response to Shang Yumei. ”My sister did help Shang Huaqiang back then, but you know yourself that he had no choice but to follow his orders, just like my father and the others. Moreover, her feelings for you have already grown so deep after the two of you spent so much time together, and her feelings will be completely broken if she finds out that you were just toying with her. I know her character by heart, and she will commit suicide once she finds out about everything.”

”Will you blame me if Shang Yaolin dies?” Zhang Fei [5] posed the question with a serious gaze.

Shang Yumei shook her head. ”Yaolin is indeed my sister, but her life is in her hands. If she dies, then so be it.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei [5] chuckled. ”Youʼre truly a heartless sister, you know? Honestly, Iʼve thought about some things about Shang Yaolin, but I would rather not focus on her for now, especially since sheʼs still in the Sun Tower.”

”What about Sister Qianying? When are you going to tell her the truth?” Hong Xinxin asked.

”Soon.” Zhang Fei [5] then took Helian Yueyi from Shang Yumei before placing her on the bed. He then used his memory manipulation on her.

[Master, why are you acting too softly toward this woman? You even erased those bad memories from her memory.]

ʼDonʼt you already know whatʼs on my mind?ʼ Mei did not say anything to reply to Zhang Fei [5]. ʼI would have killed them if she didnʼt dare to kill Huangfu Shou, but I changed my mind because of her actions just now. Since she is willing to sacrifice her husband and herself for the safety of their children, I will give her a chance. However, her husband must still die, but I will not do it with my hands.ʼ

Zhang Fei [5] did not alter Helian Yueyiʼs original memories or add new memories, and he only erased those bad memories from her memory. Thereafter, he asked the two women to lay Huangfu Xiaomei and Huangfu Xiaoying by their motherʼs side before releasing their subconscious.

”Now that Iʼve completed my business in this realm, Iʼll begin my next plan.” Zhang Fei [5] turned to Hong Xinxin and Shang Yumei. ”I want you two to accompany me to the Shrouded Sky Realm because itʼs time to take revenge against the Alchemy Union, and I will take over that organization for our sake. However, we need someone who understands the situation there, so we will pick up Luo Xuejia in the Zhou kingdom before leaving.”

Both women nodded in agreement. ”Letʼs go now.”

When they arrived at the balcony, Hong Xinxin immediately took out her flying artifact, and they went to pick up Luo Xuejia before leaving the Nine Stars Realm.

Not long after they left, Li Tiannan entered Helian Yueyiʼs room and woke up the three women. He then walked behind Huangfu Shou, sealed his cultivation, and waited for them to open their eyes.

A few moments later, Helian Yueyiʼs eyelashes trembled, and she opened her eyes slowly, but she felt something was different about her. She then turned to her two daughters. ”Eh? Why are Xiaomei and Xiaoying in my room?”

”Finally awake?”

Helian Yueyi immediately turned to Li Tiannan before jumping down from her bed in shock, especially since he pressed his dagger against Huangfu Shouʼs neck. ”What do you mean by this, Senior Tiannan?”

”Superior orders.” Li Tiannan directly slit Huangfu Shouʼs throat, causing blood to spurt from the wound, and his body convulsed repeatedly on the floor.

”No!” Helian Yueyi dashed toward Li Tiannan to attack him, but his pressure knocked her down. ”Bastard! Why? Why did you kill my husband? We have always trusted you, but you killed him!”

”Hahaha.” Li Tiannan walked over to Helian Yueyi before squatting down beside her and sealing her cultivation. ”To tell you the truth, your husband and this kingdom are tools for the Huangfu Clan, and they no longer need you all, so they asked me to kill him. As for you and your two daughters, the three of you will be prisoners, and I will control this kingdom through your foolish first son.”

”You—Mmhm!”

After he gagged Helian Yueyiʼs mouth, Li Tiannan immediately took her and her two sleeping daughters to the dungeon under the palace, and he imprisoned the three of them there.

After everything was settled, Li Tiannan went to see Huangfu Lian and ordered him to arrange Huangfu Shouʼs funeral before going elsewhere to help Gu Jinling create the Gu Heart that Zhang Fei wanted.

In prison, Helian Yueyi couldnʼt stop crying because of her husbandʼs death, and her first son still didnʼt know anything about it. Li Tiannan had already sealed her cultivation, preventing her from telling Huangfu Lian about him.

Unfortunately, Helian Yueyi still didnʼt know that Huangfu Lian and the others were Zhang Feiʼs slaves, so it would still be useless if she told her son.

ʼHusband, Iʼm sorry; I canʼt avenge your death.ʼ Helian Yueyi muttered as she continued to sob.

”Mhmm.” Huangfu Xiaoying and Huangfu Xiaomei finally opened their eyes, but their minds were too muddled, especially since they had been unconscious for five whole months.

After a few minutes, Huangfu Xiaoying and Huangfu Xiaomei had fully regained consciousness, but they were shocked to find themselves in prison. They immediately sat on the bed before turning to their mother, and they hurried to remove the gag in Helian Yueyiʼs mouth. ”What happened to us, Mother? Why are we in prison? Did our father put us in prison?”

”No! Your father didnʼt do this to us.” Helian Yueyi wiped her tears and hugged her two daughters. ”Iʼm glad you two finally woke up, Xiaoying and Xiaomei. You two have been sleeping for the past five months, and Iʼve always been worried that youʼll never wake up again.”

”Eh?” Huangfu Xiaoying and Huangfu Xiaomei were stunned to hear that. They still remember the incident in the maze challenge when they were exposed to the black liquid, but they didnʼt expect that five months had passed since then. Moreover, they had a beautiful dream while they were still sleeping, and they thought it was real. ”Did we two really sleep that long, Mother?”

”Yeah.” Helian Yueyi released them from her embrace and rubbed their cheeks. ”Xiaoying and Xiaomei, I donʼt want to talk about this since you two just woke up, but your father was just killed by the person we trusted so much, and he locked the three of us here.”

Huangfu Xiaoying and Huangfu Xiaomei were stunned to hear that, but they did not feel any sorrow over Huangfu Shouʼs death, and they felt relieved to hear him die instead. ”Who killed him, Mother? Why did that person kill our father?”

”His name is Li Tiannan, and he was sent by our ancestor.” Helian Yueyi then explained to them about the Huangfu Clan in the Grand Royal Realm, which shocked them. ”We couldnʼt tell you two or your brothers because he forbade us from telling you about them, and he has helped us so much to develop our kingdom, so it never crossed our minds that he would betray us and kill your father. Moreover, your big brother doesnʼt know about this matter yet, but I think he already has him under control.”

”What should we do now, Mother? How can we escape from this prison if our cultivation is sealed like this?” Huangfu Xiaomei asked.

Huangfu Xiaoying hugged her knees. ”I donʼt want to stay here too long, Mother.”

Helian Yueyi shook her head and pulled her two daughters into her arms. ”We canʼt do anything for now, but Iʼm sure Sister Yanxi and the others will notice that we are missing, and they will think of something to save us, so we can only wait for now.”

”Um.” Both women nodded and snuggled into Helian Yueyiʼs arms.

In contrast to the situation in the Huangfu Kingdom, the situation in the Bai Kingdom was much more peaceful and lively. The Bai royal family held a grand banquet for all the residents of their capital, especially after the coronation of Bai Congxi as their new emperor.

With all of Huangfu Shouʼs spies gone, the kingdom became much safer. Although the majority of the kingdomʼs population was still disappointed with Bai Yaowei and Linghu Yinchengʼs decision to abdicate, they still decided to support their new emperor.

.

.

.

In the Xian Kingdom, Xian Feng had already discussed plans for him and Shi Qingzhuang to abdicate. Their decision shocked the entire kingdomʼs population, but they knew that Xian Qifeng was a smart young man, and he also came from the main line of the Xian royal family, so they decided to support it.

Xian Feng ordered Old Feng and Old Wen to prepare for Xian Qifengʼs coronation ceremony, and he wanted his nephew to ascend the throne in two weeks. This way, he and Shi Qingzhuang could focus on their isolation, especially since they were keen to join Zhang Fei to challenge the Star Tower once again.

.

.

.

In Yun Kingdom, Yun Shang and Guo Xuehua had also started preparing for Yun Aoxianʼs coronation ceremony. Since he was their crown prince and a direct descendant of the royal family, none of the nobles, clan leaders, or citizens of the kingdom opposed their emperorʼs decisions.

As for the generals of the Yun Kingdom, Yun Aoxian was already used to being involved with them, so they fully supported him to ascend the throne to become their next emperor.

Like Xian Feng, Yun Shang ordered her aides to prepare Yun Aoxianʼs coronation ceremony as soon as possible, and he wanted his eldest son to ascend the throne within two weeks. He also informed them that he and Guo Xuehua would enter seclusion after their eldest son ascended the throne, and they would only come out when Zhang Fei was ready to challenge the Star Tower.

After his condition improved enough, Zhang Fei sent his three clones to the Nine Hells Darkland to complete the three daily quests. He also sent the female demons to that realm, especially since all of them had reached their limits in training to use the gravity feature.

Zhang Feiʼs fifth clone, who was on his way to the Shrouded Sky Realm along with Hong Xinxin and Shang Yumei, also helped them complete one of them.

Since he couldnʼt cultivate for now, and all his women were busy with their training, Zhang Fei decided to relax in the training space by chatting with his family, the families of his wives, and friends.

Zhang Fei informed them that he might take them away to the upper realms much sooner than originally planned, which surprised all of them.

”Have you decided on our next destination, Feiʼer?” Zhang Chen asked.

Zhang Fei took out the teleportation device. ”If I activate this device, we can go directly to the Phoenix Realm from this realm. However, I havenʼt discussed this matter with Feng Yao, so I havenʼt activated it yet. She might be able to decide, but I think it would be wiser if I wait for her parents to return to their realms, especially since they are their current leaders.”

”I think that is the best decision, Feiʼer.” Zhang Hanzhi then asked. ”Do you have other realms to choose from besides the Phoenix Realm?”

Zhang Fei nodded at his aunt. ”At first, I wanted to choose the Red Sun Realm, but I changed my mind. The Xianjin Realm is actually the most strategic, but it is already too crowded with people from other realms, and powerful cultivators go back and forth to that realm, so I think it is not suitable for us. Therefore, I thought of two other realms, which are the Starry Sky Realm and the Sovereign Heaven Realm.”

”Why did you choose those two realms?” This time, Qing Tan asked.

Zhang Fei put away the device and summoned the demon extermination sword. ”The Starry Sky Realm is the birthplace of this sword, and it has long been destroyed. Since its destruction, people have abandoned it, so no one will bother us if we stay there.”

”What about the Sovereign Heaven Realm?”

Zhang Fei shook his head. ”Old Ma told me that it is the strongest realm in the upper realms, so I believe the residents of that realm should be powerful. Moreover, I donʼt know the situation in that realm yet, so I want to go there first before deciding. However, I will put it off for now, and I will wait until my plans for the lower and middle realms are complete. By the way, Iʼm going out now to meet the others so I can put my plan into action.”

After he left the training space, Zhang Fei immediately gathered the people from the Xian, Bai, Zhou, Yun, and Ximen Kingdoms in one place. He also invited Duan Zhao, his four disciples, and Cheng Gaoji to join them. ”I want to tell you all that Huangfu Shou is dead, and I killed him indirectly through Li Tiannan. This way, the situation on this island is completely safe, and the war that has lasted for hundreds of years can be completely stopped.”

”Kid, you didnʼt gather us all here to tell us that, right?” Cheng Gaoji spoke.

Zhang Fei immediately told them his true purpose. ”I plan to spread the demon fox group to all the planets in the lower and middle realms, but I canʼt do it all by myself because the number of planets is too many. Since all the kingdoms are safe now, I need the help of your trusted people to carry out my plan.”

”Why did you come up with such an ambitious plan, kid?” Xian Feng and the others nodded in agreement with Duan Zhao, and they felt that Zhang Feiʼs plans were too ambitious.

Zhang Fei let out a soft sigh. ”Senior Duan, you already know about the Paradise Realm, right? That realm is entirely different from the three mortal realms, so I want to prepare everything as best as possible before going to that realm. I aim to expand the demon fox group, not to conquer all those realms, but to gather as many cultivation resources as possible. Currently, my fifth clone is on the way to the Alchemy Union headquarters with my two women, and I will attack them back to take over their organization.”

”This kidʼs plan is ambitious, but he didnʼt plan it for himself, and he planned it for all of you too.” They looked at Cheng Gaoji. All of you canʼt compete with upper realm cultivators, let alone the Paradise Realm. Thus, you should choose your best people to execute his plans, which will benefit everyone.”
