Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 795: 1 Star Heaven Realm

”Letʼs go there!”

”Yes, Master.” Lei Que immediately took Zhang Fei flying into the sky and disappeared behind the dark clouds.

Upon their arrival in the clouds, Zhang Fei released his three souls before merging them into one. He did not forget to release his four cultivation cores so his lightning tribulations could temper and strengthen them.

Tian Gongzhu and Tian Jianxia, who watched their actions from a distance, were completely shocked to see the two of them disappear. No cultivators had ever dared to enter their lightning tribulations, especially since the attacks they received would be multiplied because those lightning bolts would directly hit their bodies.

Tian Jianxiaʼs lips curled upwards. ”If that bastard dies, we will be free from him, and we will be free people again.”

”You are truly foolish, Senior Sister.” Tian Jianxia turned to Tian Gongzhu with a frown. ”Do you think someone as cruel as him will let us go free? Our souls have already merged with Zhang Feiʼs, and we will die if he dies, so you better hope he doesnʼt die.”

”Tch!” Tian Jianxia just remembered that, making her furious. Moreover, she had become a demon fox now, preventing her from returning to the Heavenly Moon Realm. ”What do you think his plans are for us? Ever since he brought us here, he hasnʼt come to see us again, and heʼs been busy with his own affairs.”

”I donʼt know.” Tian Gongzhu shook her head. ”Iʼm sure he has prepared some evil plans for us, but thereʼs nothing we can do. Even if he doesnʼt use his slave mark on us, weʼre no different from his slaves, so we can only wait for him to complete his lightning tribulations.”

Zap... Zap... Zap...

Behind the black clouds, Zhang Fei and Lei Que had already started to face lightning attacks, and the attacks were much stronger than usual because it was the combination of three lightning tribulations.

Fortunately, Zhang Fei has his enhanced condition ability, and he also has his passive regenerative healing factors, but the case with Lei Que is different.

Even though Lei Que was a thunderbird, Zhang Feiʼs lightning tribulations were quite painful for him. ”Master, these attacks are quite strong.”

”Swallow these healing pills.” Zhang Fei threw a few pills into Lei Queʼs mouth, which he swallowed immediately. ”My lightning tribulations this time will last longer than usual, so you must endure their lightning attacks and absorb them to increase your cultivation.”

”Yes, Master.”

[Master, the attack just now was only the beginning. The system detects that the heavens are brewing stronger ones, so you have to be careful.]

Zhang Fei narrowed his eyes in the distance. ʼWhat do you think will happen if I bring my four clones here, Mei? Will they be able to help me absorb this lightning? Or will their presence make the heavens even angrier?ʼ

[I canʼt say for sure, Master. Your clones are different from the other clone techniques, and they are basically one unit with your original body. If you want to try it, you can bring one of them here, and you can bring the rest if there is no significant change from your lightning tribulations.]

In a few minutes, Zhang Feiʼs first clone had arrived beside them, but he did not detect any changes in his lightning tribulations, and neither did Mei and the system. In the end, he brought his second, fourth, and fifth clones there.

Zap... Zap... Zap...

Several lightning dragons suddenly struck towards them; Zhang Fei and his four clones immediately absorbed them. Lei Que also absorbed some of them, but he no longer felt the pain as before thanks to the presence of his four clones, which divided the attacks of those lightning.

[Your clones really benefit you, Master.]

ʼYeah.ʼ Zhang Fei responded with a sense of relief. ʼIf I had known this a long time ago, I would have never had trouble passing my previous lightning tribulations.ʼ

[Are you going to break through to the Heaven Realm now, Master? Since your clones can help you deal with your lightning tribulation, I think itʼs fine if you break through to that stage now. However, the amount of Qi in the glass tube doesnʼt seem to be enough for that, so youʼll have to use your Qi reserves in the Qi storage.]

Zhang Fei thought for a moment as he stared at the core of his lightning tribulations. ʼLetʼs wait for these lightning tribulations to end first, Mei. If I break through to the Heaven Realm now, Lei Que wonʼt be able to withstand it, and it will be detrimental to him.ʼ

[Yes, Master.]

Zap... Zap... Zap...

The third group of lightning bolts quickly struck them, but Zhang Fei and his four clones did not experience any significant difficulties. However, Lei Que felt quite painful due to the increase in their attack power, but his master immediately gave him several healing pills.

Zhang Fei suddenly remembered something and used his lightning element technique, and the light winged race appeared behind them before enveloping them, which accelerated their recovery.

”Get ready to withstand stronger attacks, Lei Que.”

Lei Que nodded. ”Fortunately, you have powerful healing pills and your light element, Master. Otherwise, I wouldnʼt be able to withstand their powerful attacks for too long, and I would definitely die if I forced myself.”

”This isnʼt over yet, and I will immediately break through to the Heaven Realm once these lightning tribulations are over.” Lei Que took a deep breath as he imagined the power of Zhang Feiʼs lightning tribulation when he broke through to the Heaven Realm. ”If you canʼt face it, I will send you into the beast space, and I will face my lightning tribulations myself.”

”Yes, Master.”

In the Huangfu Kingdom, Helian Yueyi stood by her husbandʼs bedside anxiously because the time Zhang Fei gave her was almost up, but she still hadnʼt made up her mind about which choice she should take. She really wanted to save herself and her three children, but she really didnʼt have the heart to kill Huangfu Shou.

Helian Yueyi then sat beside Huangfu Shou, who looked lost in thought. ”What are you thinking, husband?”

”I will pass my throne to Lianʼer.” Huangfu Shouʼs answer took Helian Yueyi aback. ”My memories are declining, and my body is also weakening. I can no longer lead our kingdom in this condition, so I will transfer my authority to our son.”

Helian Yueyi herself didnʼt mind if Huangfu Lian ascended the throne to become an emperor, but Zhang Feiʼs threat still weighed heavily on her mind and heart. She was afraid that he would attack her son if he ascended the throne, which would complicate her situation.

”When will you transfer your authority to our son?”

”I have ordered Old Ling to prepare everything, and our son will become the emperor of this kingdom tomorrow morning.” Helian Yueyi wrinkled her brows because Huangfu Shou had not discussed his decision with her before. ”I want you to prepare for our sonʼs coronation tomorrow.”

Unfortunately, Helian Yueyi still did not know that Huangfu Shou was already under Li Tiannanʼs control through his soul marionette gu, and all his decisions were made based on his orders.

”Okay then, Iʼll prepare it.” Helian Yueyi hurriedly left her husbandʼs room to look for her son.

.

.

.

Helian Yueyi raised an eyebrow slightly when she arrived at her sonʼs room, especially since Huangfu Lian was chatting with her husbandʼs two concubines, Fei Yan and Guang Yi. ”What are you two doing here?”

”We are talking to Lianʼer about his coronation, Sister Yueyi.” Fei Yan calmly replied.

Guang Yi also answered her. ”I overheard Old Lingʼs conversation with Huangfu Ziyuan, and they were talking about Lianʼerʼs coronation, so I came here to congratulate him.”

”You guys knew about it before me, huh?” Helian Yueyi softly spoke, but they could hear the annoyance in her voice because she was the last to know about it. ”Are you ready for tomorrowʼs coronation ceremony, Lianʼer?”

Huangfu Lian shook his head at his mother. ”Honestly, I am not ready to lead our kingdom, Mother. However, my father has already decided on this matter, and he does not seem to be going to change his mind, so I have to be ready whether I like it or not.”

”I see.” Helian Yueyi nodded in understanding. ”I was shocked by your fatherʼs sudden decision, but his condition continued to decline, so he had no other choice but to hand over his authority to you. Therefore, you must be ready to carry out your new duties, and we will all help you to adapt to it, so your fatherʼs trusted people will be willing to accept you as their emperor.”

ʼMother, all my fatherʼs trusted people are already under the control of Grandpa Ling and Uncle Ziyuan, and the three of us are Zhang Feiʼs slaves, so they wonʼt reject me.ʼ Huangfu Lian then nodded to his mother. ”When will the ceremony start?”

”Tomorrow morning, and I will send people to help prepare at dawn.” Thereafter, Helian Yueyi left her sonʼs room and went to her two daughtersʼ room.

Fei Yan then climbed onto Huangfu Lianʼs lap and hugged his neck. ”Lianʼer, you should postpone your plan to take me and Sister Yi as your wives, or Sister Yueyi will be angry with you.”

”Sister Yan is right, Lianʼer.” Guang Yi also sat on Huangfu Lianʼs lap. At first, she was unwilling to have a relationship with him, but Fei Yan used dirty means to trap her into one. ”We must wait for the situation to calm down before you can declare us your wife, or Sister Yueyi will be angry with us. Moreover, our children still donʼt know about our relationship with you, and they will be disappointed in us.”

Huangfu Lian nodded to them. ”Okay, I will follow both of your wishes. By the way, you two have to help my mother now, or she will be suspicious of you.”

”Yes.”

.

.

.

Helian Yueyi was sitting on the bedside of her two daughters, rubbing their foreheads and looking at them uncertainly. ”What should I do? I wonʼt be able to save you two if I donʼt kill your father, but I donʼt have the heart to do it. If I donʼt kill your father, that evil demon will kill you both. Unlike us, you two still have a long life ahead of you, so I donʼt want you both to die.”

”Have you still not made up your mind, Sister Yueyi?” Helian Yueyi turned to the fake Ruo Yanxi and shook her head. ”What if I do it for you? This way, you wonʼt have to feel guilty about our husbandʼs death, and your children will be safe. After the matter is finished, you can take them away from this kingdom, and you can live peacefully together in a faraway place.”

Helian Yueyi frowned. ”Do you really have the heart to kill our husband, Sister Yanxi?”

”Yes.” The fake Ruo Yanxi then hugged Helian Yueyi from behind. ”I donʼt want our husband to die, but we have no other choice, and I donʼt want regrets to haunt you for the rest of your life. Therefore, I will do it on your behalf, and I will bear the risk for you and your children.”

Helian Yueyi was touched by the fake Ruo Yanxiʼs words. Compared to her husbandʼs other concubines, she was the closest to her, and they often spent time together, especially when Huangfu Shou was busy with imperial affairs.

”What do you think about that, Sister Yueyi?” The fake Ruo Yanxi asked.

Helian Yueyi shook her head. ”Let me think about it first, Sister Yanxi. Moreover, tomorrow is Lianʼerʼs coronation day, and our husband must attend the event, so you canʼt do it now.”

”All right.” The fake Ruo Yanxi replied with a nod.

Sometime later, Helian Yueyi went to see Ling Baozi and Huangfu Ziyuan to ask about the preparations for Huangfu Lianʼs coronation. The two men told her that everything was ready, and they only needed to wait for tomorrow morning to carry out the ceremony.

”What about the generals and others?” Helian Yueyi asked them.

Ling Baozi immediately informed her. ”Empress, I have helped Prince Lian to build a relationship with them since the emperor ordered me to, and they have accepted him as their next emperor.”

Helian Yueyi was not too surprised by this, especially since Ling Baozi had been a loyal follower of their family since the time when her father-in-law was still the emperor. Moreover, Huangfu Shou often delegated battlefield matters to him, so he was on favorable terms with those generals.

”What about you, Ziyuan?”

Huangfu Ziyuan explained straight away. ”Sister-in-law, all members of the Huangfu Imperial Sect have already accepted Lianʼer as the new emperor, and I have already convinced the nobles and clan leaders to accept him, so I am sure there will be no problems in his coronation as the emperor.”

”I see.” Helian Yueyi nodded in understanding. ”In that case, you two should make the final preparations for tomorrowʼs event, and Lianʼer will be the new emperor of this kingdom afterwards. However, I am still undecided about which woman is worthy to be his empress, especially since Ling Long has already chosen another man as her husband.”

”I think we donʼt need to rush with the matter, and it would be better if we allowed Lianʼer to choose his empress himself, sister-in-law.” Huangfu Ziyuan spoke.

Helian Yueyi softly sighed. ”Youʼre right. Lianʼer has already grown up, and he will become emperor tomorrow, so he can choose the woman who will be his empress.”

Unlike his previous breakthroughs, Zhang Feiʼs breakthrough this time lasted for a long time, and it only stopped when it was night. He and Lei Que could finally feel relieved after they had gone through so many attacks from the heavens. ”Are you going to continue now, Master?”

”Not now.” Zhang Fei replied with a shake of his head. ”Even though you have swallowed quite a few healing pills, and I have also used my light element to recover our injuries, I can see that your condition is not good. Moreover, my clones and I have something to do, so you can rest in the beast space for a while, and I will summon you again after we are done.”

”Yes, Master.”

After he sent Lei Que into the beast space, Zhang Fei went straight to the Red Sun Realm before entering the training space to cultivate while trying to stabilize his cultivation. Meanwhile, his four clones remained in the Nine Hells Darkland to complete the other two daily quests, especially since he would rather not take the risk of not completing the three daily quests.

Inside the Cloud Mansion, Ru Xue and the others stood around Zhang Fei, but they did not disturb him from cultivating. They were glad he had passed three lightning tribulations at once, but they knew he would break through to the Heaven Realm after this.

As soon as the three notifications appeared, Zhang Fei immediately left the Cloud Mansion and entered the Yin-Yang Space, pressing his palm against the glass tube. ”How much Qi remains in it, Mei?”

[About five and a half million, Master. You need seven million Qi to break through to the Heaven Realm, so you should take the rest from the Qi storage.]

”Letʼs do it, then!” Zhang Fei immediately absorbed all the remaining Qi in the glass tube, and he also absorbed the Qi in his Qi storage.

[You gained 5,300,000 Qi.]

[You gained 1,700,000 Qi.]

[Congratulations! Your cultivation broke through to the 1 Star Heaven Realm.]

As soon as the three notifications appeared, Zhang Fei immediately went to the Nine Hells Darkland again, but he did not stay there. Instead, he brought his four clones to the realm where his third clone and Lin Moxian were waiting and began his breakthrough there.
