Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 789: Enemies Or Allies

”Cough... Cough...” Huangfu Fanbo immediately wiped the blood from his mouth and stood up. ”Those goddamn sandworms! What do they want from me? Theyʼve been chasing me for two whole months, but they keep toying with me until my supply is almost gone.”

Huangfu Fanbo then turned his head to Zheng Moyue and the others, causing them to become tense and alert. The old man immediately moved in front of them and stretched out his hand. ”Give me some healing pills, or I wonʼt hesitate to slaughter demons like you.”

Zheng Moyue handed him three healing pills without a second thought, which Huangfu Fanbo immediately swallowed. The old man directly used his qi to dissolve and spread their effects throughout his body, gradually healing his injuries.

”S... senior, who are you? How did you get trapped in this place?” Zheng Moyue stuttered.

”Are you guys demons from the Nine Stars Realm?” They nodded to Huangfu Fanbo. ”Do you know the way out of this place?”

Xian Hong immediately told him. ”You know, Senior, I was trapped here before, and we had to find some items in random places to leave. Unfortunately, this place is vast, and many sand beasts live here, so itʼs quite difficult to find them. Back then, I almost died at the hands of those beasts, and it took me a month or so to find them.”

”Iʼve been trapped here for two months or so, and Iʼve killed so many sand beasts, but they keep appearing and attacking me.” They were shocked to hear that Huangfu Fanbo could survive for so long facing those beasts. ”Since you guys are here, you should help me look for those items. Otherwise, I will feed you to those sand beasts, and they will enjoy eating you alive.”

Xian Hong and the others shivered at Huangfu Fanboʼs threat, and they all immediately scattered to search for the items needed to leave the place.

Still in the Star Tower, Huangfu Shong and five people from the Huangfu Clan looked frustrated as they cleaned the wounds on their bodies. The old man stared at the room in front of them— specifically at the chimera beast that stood tall in the middle of the room.

They wanted to escape from the place, but the path behind them was blocked by a huge rock. No matter how hard they tried to destroy it, the rock did not budge an inch, let alone shatter. After all, they were strong cultivators from the upper realms, and the Star Tower was located in the middle realms, which shocked and confused them.

They initially thought they could kill the chimera beast easily, but instead they were played by it, and they suffered quite heavy injuries from its attack.

Huangfu Shong walked to the door of the room and stared at the chimera beast with a serious expression. ”Where did this beast come from? I have fought with hundreds or even thousands of types of beasts, but I have never seen anything like this. This beastʼs body is so big, but it has extremely agile speed, and its recovery speed is also unheard of.”

”What should we do now, Ancestor?” A middle-aged man asked. ”If we canʼt defeat this beast, weʼll never be able to go to the next room.”

Huangfu Shong let out a soft sigh. ”I also want to defeat this strange beast as soon as possible, but all our attacks are useless against it. If we attack it, it will continue to recover itself.”

”Ancestor.” Huangsu Shong turned to another middle-aged man. ”I donʼt think we can attack this beast with normal means because it will keep regenerating, so I think we should combine all our strength to kill it in one attack.”

Huangfu Shong nodded in agreement. ”You guys can focus on recovering from your injuries first, and once you all recover, we will use our combined strength to defeat this beast.”

”Yes, Ancestor.”

In the Netherworld Realm, a flying artifact slowly entered the realm, and two young men stood at its front end. However, none of the realmʼs inhabitants noticed their presence, especially since the flying artifact was invisible. ”Do you think the people from the Shang Clan are really in this realm, Brother Chaozu?”

”Our matriarch wouldnʼt have sent us here if the news wasnʼt true, Brother Baoxing.” Xi Chaozu then tried to spread his senses and search for the whereabouts of Shang Chongyun and the others. ”The four of them live in the northwest area near a demon city.”

”Shall we move to capture them?”

Xi Chaozu shook his head. ”We donʼt need to meet or attack them because our matriarch only ordered us to monitor them, mainly to find information about Shang Huaqiangʼs plans in this realm. Anyways, use your transformation technique to disguise yourself as a demon, and weʼll go to that demon city to find out what happened in this realm a few months ago.”

”Hmm?” Xi Baoxing raised his eyebrows. ”Why would we do that?”

Xi Chaozu immediately explained. ”According to information from our matriarch, Shang Huaqiang once sent Shang Xishun and several others to this realm, but his plan failed miserably. Therefore, he sent Shang Chongyun and the three of them here to restart his plans, but she didnʼt know his plan at that time, so he asked us to find out about it.”

”I see.” Xi Baoxing nodded in understanding.

Sometime later, the two men had arrived at Lust City, and they had neatly hidden their auras as cultivators. They seemed surprised to see the demonsʼ lives in the city, and many tried to seduce them, but they ignored them.

ʼBrother, this city is a city of prostitution.ʼ

Xi Chaozu nodded to him. ʼWe must find the important demons in this city, and we will force them to tell us about those past events.ʼ

ʼLetʼs go there, brother! That inn is the largest in this city, and we can definitely find a lot of information there!ʼ Xi Baoxing said as he pointed to the Lust Inn.

The two men immediately rushed to the inn, and they saw many demons gathered there. However, Xenaya, the sexy succubus, drew their attention. ʼShe is much sexier than all the women in our clan, including our matriarch.ʼ

”Hmm?” Xenaya turned to the two men before approaching them. ”Are you two new to town? What can I do for you two?”

”Can we talk in a private place, miss?” Xenayaʼs brows furrowed, forcing Xi Chaozu to explain. ”I just want to ask for some information, including what happened a few months ago.”

Xenaya thought for a moment before leading the two men into the back room. ”What do you two want to know?”

”Who is the leader of this town? Where can we meet that person? Do you know about what happened back then?” Xi Chaozu asked without beating around the bush.

”The leader of this town is Elion, and he usually lives with Lady Orith and Lady Ilsath in the succubi tower. Unfortunately, they are not here right now, so you two cannot meet him.” Xenaya then asked. ”Do you want to ask about the incident regarding the human invaders?”

”Yes.” Both men nodded.

”The humans invaded this realm hundreds of years ago, and they used the demons of this realm to invade other realms using a teleportation portal.” Xenayaʼs answer surprised Xi Chaozu and Xi Baoxing, as they did not expect that Shang Huaqiang had started his plan hundreds of years ago, but no one in their realm knew about it. ”Their first invasion almost succeeded, but the humans in that realm thwarted their plan by sealing the portal. Nine months ago, they managed to break the seal and wanted to invade the realm again, but Elion and a fire phoenix thwarted their plan once again, and the two destroyed the portal. Since then, the situation in this realm has become safe, but four other humans came here four and a half months ago.”

ʼA phoenix?ʼ As cultivators from the upper realms, Xi Chaozu and Xi Baoxing naturally knew about the Phoenix race, but they were confused about the reason one of them helped the demons from the middle realms. ”Who exactly is Elion? How can he stop those humans? Havenʼt those four humans done anything since they arrived here?”

Xenaya immediately explained. ”Elion is no ordinary lust demon, and he is the lust demon lord. He is powerful, and his power exceeds all demon kings or queens; even Queen Zilvora submits to him. I heard that he beat one of the four newcomer humans, and they couldnʼt do anything to fight him.”

”What do you mean by the lust demon lord?” Xenaya then told Xi Chaozu and Xi Baoxing that all demons can evolve, but each demonʼs evolution is different. ”Does that mean the four of them are Elionʼs prisoners?”

Xenaya shook her head. ”I donʼt know for sure about that because Elion is still busy with his own business, and he hasnʼt seen me again for the last few months.”

”Thank you for your information, miss.” Xi Chaozu immediately pulled Xi Baoxing out of the room.

On the other hand, Xenaya wonders about the identities of the two men because all the demons in the realm already knew about the incident nine months ago, and they should also know about the evolution of demons. ʼHmm? I should go see Ju Yingzhi right now, and she should be able to help me contact Elion.ʼ

Xenaya then rushed to the succubi tower, but she didnʼt realize that Xi Chaozu and Xi Baoxing were monitoring her using their senses from a distance. The two men were surprised to find Ju Yingzhi and Xin Yanluo at the top of the tower because the two women were demon cultivators, and their cultivation was quite high.

Ju Yingzhi and Xin Yanluo immediately noticed Xi Chaozu and Xi Baoxingʼs senses eavesdropping on them, but they did nothing because the two men were stronger than them, and both spoke to Xenaya via voice transmission before contacting Zhang Fei.

”Who do you think those two women are, Brother? Why are such powerful demon cultivators hiding in a realm without Qi like this?”

Xi Chaozu shook his head at his brother. ”I donʼt understand why those two female demons chose to hide in this realm, but Iʼm sure that they were demon cultivators from the upper realm, and one of them was terribly injured. Rather than them, Iʼm more curious about Elionʼs identity because he has ties to the phoenix race, and they worked together to stop Shang Huaqiang, which has never happened in the past.”

”Youʼre right.” Xi Baoxing replied with a nod of approval. ”As far as I remember, the phoenix race doesnʼt like demons, but one of them teamed up with a demon to help these demons, so I believe thereʼs something fishy about Elion.”

Xi Chaozu immediately took out an interspatial communication device and conveyed all the information they got to Xi Hongyan. Before long, she returned the message and gave them some instructions. ”Our matriarch ordered us to investigate the identities of the two female demons and Elion, and she ordered us to infiltrate the succubi tower.”

”The two female demons seem to have noticed our presence, so we should go first and change our disguises, and we will infiltrate there later.” Xi Baoxing spoke.

Xi Chaozu and Xi Baoxing hurriedly left Lust City to avoid Ju Yingzhiʼs and Xin Yanluoʼs detection, but they did not immediately return to the city, and they chose to wait outside for some time.

After he heard the message from Ju Yingzhi and Xin Yanluo, Zhang Fei [5] immediately went to Tian Gongzhuʼs location. ”Oh? Youʼve been enjoying your time as a demon fox, huh?”

ʼTch!ʼ Tian Gongzhu gritted her teeth. ”What do you want from me?”

”I donʼt care how youʼre going to do it, but I want you to lure Tian Jiyuan to come to you.” Tian Gongzhu frowned at Zhang Fei [5], but he immediately opened the gate and took her away to the Netherworld Realm. ”Quick! Contact that guy so I can make calculations with him.”

Tian Gongzhu extended her hand to Zhang Fei [5]. ”Give me back my storage ring.”

Instead, Zhang Fei [5] gave Tian Gongzhu an interspatial communication device, which she used to contact Tian Jiyuan. However, she didnʼt send a clear message because her brother would suspect her, and she deliberately made her message sound forced. ”I donʼt know if my message will be successful in luring him to come to this realm, so we can only wait for him to contact me back.”

”Thatʼs good.” Zhang Fei [5] then opened the map and searched for the whereabouts of the two men mentioned by Ju Yingzhi and Xin Yanluo in their messages. It didnʼt take him long to find them, but he frowned after learning their identities. ʼOh? Those two men must be Xi Hongyanʼs subordinates, but why did she send them to this realm? Did she deliberately send them to monitor Shang Chongyun and the others?ʼ

”Hey! What are we going to do in this realm?”

Zhang Fei [5] did not answer Tian Gongzhuʼs question, and he immediately took the female demon heavenly fox to the succubi tower. He then took her to Ju Yingzhi and Xin Yanluoʼs room, causing her to become restless after she realized that the two female demons were powerful demon cultivators. ʼShit! These two are much stronger than Brother Jiyuan and the others.ʼ

”Big problems never stop coming your way.” Ju Yingzhi said to Zhang Fei [5].

Zhang Fei [5] smiled bitterly at that. ”I never wanted to find trouble with anyone, but they always found trouble with me. How is your condition?”

”Thanks to your superior-grade healing pills, my injury has recovered thirty percent in the past four months, and I am confident that I can fully recover in the following months.” Zhang Fei [5] then gave Ju Yingzhi a few batches of healing pills, which she gladly accepted. ”What are your plans for those two demons?”

”Theyʼre not demons.” Zhang Fei [5]ʼs answer confused Ju Yingzhi and Xin Yanluo. ”They are human cultivators from the upper realms, and I think they came here specifically to monitor the other four, so I will meet them now.”

Xin Yanluo immediately asked. ”Are you sure you can face them by yourself? The cultivation of those two people is above my masterʼs cultivation.”

”Are you worried about me now?” Xin Yanluo snorted and turned his head away. ”Their cultivation is at the Divine Fusion Realm, but I am confident in facing them. Furthermore, I know their leader, so I am sure there will be no major problems between us.”

”Up to you, then.”

”You wait here, and I will meet them.”

”Wait—” Tian Gongzhu sighed heavily because Zhang Fei [5] disappeared so quickly; she then turned to the two female demons, who were staring at her sharply. ”What do you two want from me?”

”You are a heavenly fox, right?” Ju Yingzhi asked.

Tian Gongzhu nodded. ”I was a heavenly fox, but that bastard turned me into a demon fox.”

”Hehe.” Ju Yingzhi chuckled. ”What would happen if the members of your race found out that you are a demon fox now?”

”Tch!” Tian Gongzhu gritted his teeth and hurriedly left their room.

”Master, that female fox will not be able to return to her realm again, or her ancestors will kill them.”

”Youʼre right.” Ju Yingzhi then sat cross-legged on the bed. ”Yanluo, I will swallow this healing pill now, but I need you to help me with your Qi.”

Xin Yanluo immediately sat behind Ju Yingzhi, pressed her palms against her back, and channeled her Qi into her body. ”You can swallow it now, Master.”

”All right.”

Xi Chaozu and Xi Baoxing, who were still waiting outside the city disguised as demons, were surprised by the appearance of Zhang Fei [5]. However, they relaxed after they detected his cultivation. ”Let me guess; you must be Elion, right?”

”Thatʼs right.” Zhang Fei [5] nodded at Xi Chaozu. ”Did Xi Hongyan send you two to this realm to watch over Shang Chongyun and the others?”
