Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 766: Zhou Shenxin The Empress

While his other two clones were busy with other matters, Zhang Fei was in the Zhou Kingdom. With a faint smile, he glanced at Zhou Xiaochuan, who stood frustrated in his throne room.

At first, Zhang Fei thought of waiting for his cultivation to break through to the Heaven Realm before cleaning up the Zhou Kingdom. However, he changed his mind after his conversation with Ma Kuangyu a month ago, and he decided to cure Zhou Xiaochuan because Zhou Shenxin needed him for the process of transferring power in their kingdom.

Zhou Xiaochuan continued to wear a gloomy face, especially after Zhang Fei told him his plans for todayʼs event. Unfortunately, he was his slave, and it was impossible for him to disobey his orders.

Additionally, Zhou Xiaochuan had received information that the entire area of his kingdom had been occupied and controlled by troops from the Yun and Zhou Kingdoms since a month ago, and all his subordinates were already under Zhang Feiʼs control, making his status as emperor just an empty one.

After Zhou Shenxin prepared everything in the past month, Zhang Fei ordered all the royal family members of the Zhou Kingdom to gather in the throne room. Additionally, he ordered Zhou Xiaochuan to summon all the ministers, nobles, and clan leaders in the kingdom to attend, especially since he wanted to push her to the throne today.

Seeing Zhou Xiaochuan not sitting on his throne, the people lining up on the right side of the throne room began to wonder in their hearts about todayʼs events, especially since he had not explained in detail his reasons for summoning them. On the left side of the throne room, two large tables with many chairs were available, but strangely, their emperor did not allow them to sit there.

*Tap... Tap... Tap...*

The ministers, nobles, and clan leaders immediately turned their attention toward the door after hearing the footsteps of many people from outside. They were shocked when they saw the royal members of the Xian and Yun Kingdoms walking into the throne room, which had never happened since Zhou Xiaochuan ascended the throne as their emperor.

The presence of another person was something they least expected, especially since they had long heard that Linghu Yingchen had fallen into Huangfu Shouʼs control. Moreover, they also heard that her three children disappeared after the Star Tower a few months ago, and no one knew their traces, but the four of them suddenly appeared today.

Xian Feng and the others immediately sat neatly on the sides of the two large tables, but they did not say anything and only looked at the expressions of the people present in the room, especially Zhou Xiaochuanʼs expression, which became even worse after their arrival.

After everyone gathered, Zhang Fei decided to enter the throne room, accompanied by all his wives, which shocked those people again. They knew that he was the husband of Xian Xianqin and Yun Xinyue, but they had never known about his relationship with Zhou Shenxin.

Unlike Xian Feing and the others, Zhang Fei and all his wives did not sit with them. Instead, he led them to the throne, which caused those people to frown. However, he did not sit on the throne and stood beside it, while all his wives stood behind it, anticipating the culmination of the event.

Zhang Fei watched those ministers, nobles, and clan leaders for a while before starting to speak. ”Iʼm sure all of you have many questions about todayʼs event, right? You guys donʼt need to be too curious about it because you will get the answers soon, and todayʼs event will greatly change the future of this kingdom.”

*Chatter... Chatter...*

Those people started whispering to each other, and one of them wanted to ask Zhang Fei. However, they suddenly heard the sound of several trumpets being sounded, and they heard some heavy footsteps from outside, so they once again looked in that direction.

Before long, Zhou Shenxin walked into the throne room, but her appearance shocked and confused them, especially since she looked like a crownless empress.

Dong Feiling leisurely walked on Zhou Shenxinʼs right side while carrying a tray covered in green cloth, but they could guess that it was her crown, especially since she wasnʼt wearing it. Meanwhile, Jiang Tingxi walked on her daughterʼs left side, and Zhou Xiaochuanʼs other concubines followed behind them.

Those people were shocked again when they arrived in front of the throne, and Zhou Shenxin was standing right in front of it. They finally realized what was going to happen next, and it was proven by Dong Feiling, who opened the green cloth covering the crown.

Dong Feiling stared at those people for some time before speaking. ”My husband and I summoned you all here today to announce our decision, and we have decided to step down from our throne.”

”What?” All of them exclaimed in shock, and they wanted to protest because they had always considered women unworthy of having important roles, let alone being the leader of their kingdom. ”Empress, what—”

”Silence!” Zhang Fei shouted and released his killing intent, but he only directed it at the ministers, nobles, and clan leaders, suffocating them. ”Like I said before, todayʼs event will greatly change the future of this kingdom, and you should be aware of what I mean by now. Unlike you guys, I respect women very much because I was born from a woman, and there are so many influential women in my home realm or in this realm. From today on, Zhou Shenxin will ascend the throne and become the empress of this kingdom, and I donʼt want to hear any objections from anyone. Whoever dares to resist and rebel against her, I will eliminate that personʼs family without exception, so you must think carefully about your choice.”

Hearing that, Zhou Xiaochuan clenched his fists tightly, especially since he would lose everything soon. Not only did he lose his throne, but he also lost his entire family because they sided with Zhang Fei and Zhou Shenxin, and he was powerless to fight back because of the slave mark in his soul.

Zhang Fei then withdrew his killing intent and turned to Dong Feiling. ”Proceed with the coronation.”

”Yes.” Dong Feiling then called one of the old ministers and ordered him to carry out the coronation ceremony of Zhou Shenxin as the empress of their kingdom.

The old minister did not want Zhou Shenxin to become their empress, but his family was much more important to him, and he did not want them to be slaughtered by Zhang Fei. Moreover, he could see that Zhou Xiaochuan couldnʼt do anything to stop it, making him realize that he had already done something to him.

The old minister, with a heavy heart, initiated the coronation ceremony in accordance with their kingdomʼs tradition. Once everything was complete, he placed the crown on Zhou Shenxinʼs head, thereby establishing her as their official empress.

Xian Feng and the guests present applauded after the coronation ceremony was over, as did Zhang Fei and all his wives. Dong Feiling and Zhou Xiaochuan also congratulated Zhou Shenxin, and they publicly announced their support for her.

Although those people still did not accept Zhou Shenxin as their empress, their fear of Zhang Fei forced them to applaud her enthronement, and they began to congratulate her.

Zhou Shenxinʼs first act as an empress was not to give a speech to her people, but instead, she pulled Zhang Fei to her side and kissed him before the peopleʼs eyes, proclaiming that he was her future husband. Those people finally realized their relationship, which implicitly declared him as their emperor.

They briefly kissed before Zhang Fei separated their lips. ”Itʼs time for you to give your first speech as the empress.”

”Yeah.” Zhou Shenxin then faced the people and began to speak to them. ”I know all of you are not ready to accept me as your empress, and I also know that you guys feel pressured by my future husband. To be honest, I have never thought about becoming an empress, but I have been too fed up and disgusted with your treatment of me or other women. Unfortunately, I donʼt have the power to change the traditions that have been ingrained since the founding of this kingdom, and the only way for me to change them is to take over my fatherʼs position. As my future husband explains that to me, I was still doubtful at first, but I decided to accept his idea, and I have become the empress of this kingdom now.”

Hearing that, those people looked at Zhang Fei, and there was a glimmer of hatred in their eyes. However, he didnʼt care about them, and he once again determined them with his killing intent.

Zhou Shengxin continued straight away. ”From today on, all women in this kingdom will have the same rights and positions as men, and I no longer want to see any woman tortured or sold into slavery. Any man who dares to go against my orders, I will sentence them to death. Do you all understand?”

”Yes, Empress!”

Xian Feng, Shi Qingzhuang, Yun Shang, Guo Xuehua, and Linghu Yincheng immediately walked to the throne and stood on either side of Zhou Shenxin.

Zhou Shenxin then spoke to her people again. ”In the past, our kingdom has always been hostile to theirs, especially since my father has always had the ambition to become the sole ruler of this island. For hundreds of years, there have been so many victims who fell due to war between kingdoms, and many families suffered after losing their loved ones on the battlefield. However, everything will change from today onward, and the four kingdoms will work together to maintain peace on this island, so war will no longer be necessary.”

Although those people did not like Zhou Shenxin as their empress, they liked her idea of ending the war between kingdoms because many of their families had also died due to war in the past, so they longed for peace.

”Unfortunately, we still cannot achieve absolute peace because Huangfu Shou and his Huangfu Kingdom still exist on this island, and he has several powerful backers behind him.” They looked at Zhou Shenxin seriously after she mentioned that, but they then glanced at Zhang Fei, who was smiling casually. ”They are strong, but we are not alone now, and the four kingdoms will fight together to bring down that kingdom. Sooner or later, that kingdom will surely fall, and we will have absolute peace then.”

After that, Zhou Shenxin conveyed to them some of her orders for the residents of the Zhou Kingdom, and she also ordered them to spread the news about his ascension. She then gave Xian Feng, Yun Shang, and Linghu Yincheng to speak to her people.

After everything was done, the people immediately left the Zhou Royal Palace to carry out Zhou Shenxinʼs orders, but they did not expect that the capital was already filled with Zhou Xiaochuanʼs former generals, and Zhang Fei deliberately placed them there to control the situation in case the residents could not accept the news.

Zhang Fei then sent all his wives back to the training space, and he also sent the other people to their respective places. Jiang Tingxi led Dong Feiling and others to leave the throne room, and they began to prepare for their royal wedding.

Zhou Xiaochuan left with Zhang Feiʼs other slaves, but his mind was still occupied with how to reverse the situation. Unfortunately, everything was too late for him, especially since his master already had plans for him.

After they all left, Zhou Shenxin sighed in relief, but Zhang Fei, who was already seated on the throne, immediately pulled her into his lap and hugged her. ”How do you feel after becoming an empress?”

”I donʼt feel the slightest bit happy, but I have no other choice.” Zhou Shenxin then put her arms around his neck. ”Even if you donʼt want it, you will still be the emperor of this kingdom after we get married. Moreover, I wonʼt be able to face everything by myself, so you must always help me face it.”

”Hehe.” Zhang Fei chuckled. ”You are my empress wife, and I gave you the idea for this. Therefore, I will always help you in royal affairs, but I will refrain from public appearances and instead assist you discreetly.”

”Thatʼs fine with me.” Zhou Shenxin then asked. ”What are your next plans for the Huangfu Kingdom? You havenʼt been to that kingdom in the last month, right?”

Zhang Fei shook his head. ”I havenʼt been to the kingdom for the past month, but Du She has kept me informed of the situation there. As for my next plan for Huangfu Shou, I canʼt decide right now because Wushuang told me that Li Tiannan contacted the Huangfu Clanʼs ancestor because of Huangfu Fanboʼs matter, and they will be arriving in this realm soon. I will observe their situation first, and I will decide everything depending on their actions.”

”Do you think they will attack us?” Zhou Shenxin inquired with a hint of fear in her voice, particularly considering the formidable strength of the Huangfu Clan from the Grand Royal Realm.

Zhang Fei kissed Zhou Shenxin before calming her down. ”You donʼt need to be afraid about them, okay? Iʼve discussed this matter with Grandpa Hong and the others since a month ago, and they are willing to help us if Huangfu Shouʼs ancestors and their people attack us. Additionally, my third clone met one of my senior brothers today, and he is a great man. If necessary, I will ask for his help to help us, and those people will not dare to do anything against us.”

”Who is your senior brother?” Zhang Fei told Shou Shenxin about Lin Moxian directly, including his relationship with the alchemist goddess. ”Wow! I didnʼt expect you to have such a senior brother! If he is willing to introduce you to his aunt, Iʼm sure you will become even more skilled in alchemy.”

”The world of alchemy is more complicated than that of ordinary cultivators, and I am not close to my senior brother yet, so I have no intention of asking him to take me to his aunt yet.” Zhang Fei then lowered Zhou Shenxin from his lap before giving her a gentle kiss. ”I will go to the Huangfu Kingdom now, and I will prepare to break through to the 7-Star Earth Realm after that.”

”All right.” After Zhang Fei disappeared, Zhou Shenxin went straight to Jiang Tingxi, Dong Feiling, and the others to discuss some things with them.

Zhang Fei had arrived at Huangfu Lianʼs room in the Huangfu Royal Palace, but he did not find the Huangfu Prince there, and he noticed him training with Li Tiannan in the training ground.

Zhang Fei immediately entered the invisible state and sneaked into Huangfu Shouʼs room, where he found him talking to Helian Yueyi.

”What exactly happened to you, husband? Why do I feel like youʼve become more and more strange lately?” Helian Yueyi asked with concern. ”Moreover, I started to feel your strange changes three months ago, but at first I thought it was because you were thinking too much about our kingdom affairs.”

Huangfu Shou shook his head at her. ”Iʼm probably too exhausted from thinking about royal affairs and the condition of our two daughters, so I often forget things. I just need a lot of rest, and my condition will recover by itself.”

”Are you sure about that?”

”Yes.”

”In that case, you can rest now, and I will check the condition of our two daughters.” Huangfu Shou immediately closed his eyes after his wife left, but Helian Yueyi still felt that something was wrong with him. ʼDid that mysterious guy do something to my husband? Where did he disappear to? Why hasnʼt he shown up in the past month?ʼ

Before long, Helian Yueyi had arrived at her two daughtersʼ room, but she was still confused about their condition. The black liquid had disappeared from their bodies a month ago, but they still had not woken up from their sleep.

Just as she was thinking about that, Helian Yueyi was startled by someoneʼs hug, but her face darkened when Zhang Fei asked. ”Did you miss me, peeping empress?”
