Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 784: Two Emperorsʼ Decision

After hearing about Bai Yaowei and Linghu Yinchengʼs decision, Yun Shang immediately discussed it with Guo Xuehua. ”Are you sure about that, husband? Compared to Bai Chongxi and Zhou Shenxin, our son is indeed more prepared to carry out the duties of an emperor, but Iʼm still not sure about appointing him to be an emperor now.”

”I understand your concerns, wife.” Yun Shang then walked to the balcony and looked up at the sky. ”Almost all the kingdoms have united now, making the situation in this realm much safer and more peaceful. Therefore, I think it is no problem if our son ascends the throne to replace me, and we will help him from behind while focusing on our cultivation.”

Guo Xuehua walked to her husbandʼs side. ”Are you considering looking for our parents in the upper realms? Itʼs been decades since they ascended, but they have never returned to this realm once. Senior Feng Yao said that they joined a sect there, but I truly miss them, and I want to see them again.”

”I missed them, but I didnʼt think about them or the upper realms, especially since they were able to take care of themselves.” Guo Xuehua turned to Yun Shang in confusion. ”Have you forgotten Zhang Feiʼs story about the realms beyond the upper realms? The cultivators from there are trying to reach that place through the Sun Tower in the Blossom Heaven Realm right now, so I was thinking of challenging the Star Tower again. Back then, we only managed to reach the 5th floor because we were still weak, but our cultivation has improved a lot since then, so Iʼm confident we can reach the higher floors.”

Guo Xuehua nodded in agreement. ”What if we join Zhang Fei? He plans to bring all his wives and family, who have reached the earth realm, to challenge the tower.”

”I think itʼs for the best.” Yun Shang replied with a nod. ”I will contact Brother Feng and discuss this matter with him, and you can persuade Sister Qingzhuang to join us.”

”Iʼm sure Brother Feng and Sister Qingzhuang want to challenge the Star Tower again, but Xian Xianwu and Yao Yin are not ready to lead their kingdom.” Guo Xuehua then thought of another possibility. ”Do you think they will be willing to transfer their authority to Xian Luo?”

Yun Shang shook his head. ”Xiao Luo once said that he is not interested in leading their kingdom, so he will refuse it. However, they still have Xian Qifeng and Luo Qinglin, and I believe they are worthy to lead the Xian Kingdom, but the decision is in their hands.”

”In that case, you can go to our son to talk about this matter, and I will meet our daughter-in-law while contacting Sister Qingzhuang.” Thereafter, they went to two different places. Yun Shang went to see Yun Aoxian, and Guo Xuehua went to see Li Yao, whose pregnancy was getting bigger.

Yun Aoxian and Li Yao were shocked by their parentsʼ sudden decision, and they wanted to reject it because they felt they were not fully ready to lead the Yun Kingdom, but Yun Shang and Guo Xuehua continued to persuade and convince them.

Yun Shang and Guo Xuehua told Yun Aoxian and Li Yao that they would not completely retire, and they would continue to help them from behind. They also told them that Bai Chongxi would ascend the throne and become the emperor of the Bai Kingdom in two weeks, and he was clearly less experienced than them.

After a long and tough discussion, Yun Aoxian and Li Yao finally agreed with their parentsʼ decision. Thereafter, Yun Shang immediately summoned his trusted people to discuss the matter with them, and Guo Xuehua returned to the room to contact Shi Qingzhuang.

Li Yao then went to her husband. ”Why did they make such a sudden decision, husband? I know that we will replace them sooner or later, but I think their decision is too early. Moreover, I am still in the early stages of pregnancy now, and I have to focus on my pregnancy, so I wonʼt be able to help you much in the kingdomʼs affairs after we ascend the throne.”

”I think they decided this matter because of Bai Chongxi and Zhou Shenxin.” Yun Aoxian responded by letting out a soft sigh. ”Compared to them, we are more experienced in managing royal affairs, so our parents deliberately wanted to push us to the throne. If Xian Qifeng also ascends the throne and leads the Xian Kingdom and Zhang Fei pushes Huangfu Lian to replace Huangfu Shou as the emperor of the Huangfu Kingdom, then the five kingdoms will be led by young leaders.”

”Well, thatʼs true.” Li Yao gave a light nod. ”The Yu, Xian, Zhou, and Bai Kingdoms have good relations now, and Zhang Fei already controls the Huangfu Kingdom, so the situation on this island should be safe now. Moreover, he also became a bridge for us to establish good relations with the Beast and Natural Race Kingdoms, so only the two demon kingdoms are left.”

”Zhang Fei has already made plans for the two demon kingdoms, but I donʼt know when he will make his move against them. Once the two demon kingdoms fall into his hands, then this realm will be truly safe. Fortunately, he is not crazy about power, and he is not interested in becoming the sole ruler, so we donʼt have to worry about anything.” Yun Aoxian then touched his wifeʼs belly. ”After we ascend the throne, you donʼt need to think too much about the affairs of the kingdom, and you can focus on your pregnancy until our child is born.”

Li Yao smiled at that. ”Honestly, Iʼm still not ready to be a mother, but our parents have long desired a grandchild, so I have no other choice. By the way, you have to join our father, and you must convince his subordinates to accept you as their emperor.”

”All right.”

In the Xian Imperial Sect, Xian Feng and Shi Qingzhuang were sitting with three other people. They were Xian Luo, Xian Qifeng, and Luo Qinglin.

Xian Qifeng and Luo Qinglin fell into a daze after Xian Feng explained to them his purpose for calling them, especially since he suddenly wanted them to ascend the throne to replace him and Shi Qingzhuang.

”Why did you suddenly decide on something like this, Brother?” Xian Luo posed the question in a serious tone.

”I know you have never been interested in becoming an emperor, so I chose your son to replace you.” Xian Feng then explained. ”The Zhou Kingdom already has Zhou Shenxin as its empress, and Bai Yaowei will soon abdicate, with Bai Chongxi taking his place. In addition, Brother Yun just contacted me, and he has already decided for Yun Aoxian to ascend the throne in a month.”

They were not surprised by Zhou Shenxinʼs status as the empress of the Zhou Kingdom, but they were surprised by Bai Yaowei and Yun Shangʼs decision to pass on their throne to their two sons.

Xian Feng then spoke again. ”The Huangfu Kingdom is already under Zhang Feiʼs control, and Huangfu Lian will soon become the emperor of the Huangfu Kingdom. Therefore, Qingzhuang and I have decided to abdicate and focus on our cultivation. We want to pass the leadership to the younger generation. Unfortunately, Xianwu is too inexperienced, and he never had the ambition to become emperor.”

”Back then, we thought to appoint our daughter to replace us, and she would become the first female ruler of our kingdom. Unfortunately, her situation changed, and she has already become Zhang Feiʼs wife.” Xian Luo and the others actually didnʼt mind if Xian Xianqin ascended the throne, but her situation was different. ”That kid is not interested in becoming an emperor because he doesnʼt like dealing with such matters, and he prefers to live unfettered. As his wife, it is impossible for our daughter to ascend the throne to replace us, so we want Xian Qifeng and Luo Qinglin to replace us.”

”As I recall, Zhou Shenxin is also going to marry Zhang Fei, right?” Xian Feng and Shi Qingzhuang nodded to Xian Qifeng. ”Since he allowed her to become the empress of the Zhou Kingdom, he should have no problem with my cousin becoming the empress of our kingdom, right?”

”Youʼre not wrong with that.” Shi Qingzhuang replied with a nod. ”However, Zhenxin wonʼt be the empress for long, especially since Zhang Fei has started preparing for their new life in the upper realms. Once everything is ready, he will take everyone by his side there, and she will hand over her throne to someone else at that time. If Iʼm not mistaken, Zhou Tong will be their first choice, but he will only be a puppet emperor because he is their slave.”

Xian Qifeng nodded in understanding. ”If that is the case, the Huangfu and Zhou Kingdoms are purely Zhang Feiʼs, and he will control both kingdoms from behind the scenes.”

”Thatʼs right.”

Xian Feng then spoke to him. ”Qingfei, your experience and intelligence are not inferior to Yun Aoxian, and I believe you can lead this kingdom well. Moreover, Qinglin is a tactician with keen observation, and she always has many useful ideas. If the two of you lead our kingdom, I believe the future of our kingdom will be much better under your leadership. Therefore, I hope that the two of you will not reject our decision, and we will start preparing for the transfer of our authority to the two of you.”

”Uncle and Aunt, can you tell us about your plans after abdicating? Iʼm sure you two wonʼt live in isolation, right?” Luo Qinglin asked them.

”Haha.” Xian Feng laughed before explaining. ”Aside from focusing on our cultivation, we also want to challenge the Star Tower again, and we might spend many years there.

”As expected.” Luo Qinglin said it with a light nod. ”Does that mean you all will join Zhang Fei?”

Xiang Feng nodded at her. ”Zhang Feiʼs cultivation will break through to the Heaven Realm in three to four months, and he will bring them all there, so we will join them. However, we canʼt rely on him, so we want to prepare ourselves for the next few months.”

”Apart from that, we have the intention to go to the upper realms because your grandparents are still alive there, and we want to meet them to see their true situation.” Shi Qingzhuang added.

Xian Luo, Xian Qifeng, and Luo Qinglin naturally also have dreams of going to the upper realms. However, they were different from Xian Feng and Shi Qingzhuang, and they did not have a close relationship with Zhang Fei, so they could only rely on their abilities to get there.

”I agree with your wishes.” Xian Qifeng turned to Luo Qinglin in surprise. ”Uncle Feng and Aunt Qingzhuang have led our kingdom for hundreds of years, and they have developed this kingdom into one of the best, so I think itʼs time for them to enjoy their private lives. Moreover, Iʼm confident in our abilities, and we will continue the results of their hard work over the years.”

”All right.” Xian Qifeng said to his aunt and uncle, ”You can start preparing everything; Qingling and I will also prepare ourselves to shoulder our next responsibilities.”

Their decision relieved Xian Feng and Shi Qingzhuang, and they left the Xian Imperial Sect afterward.

”Are you two sure you are ready to become the emperor and the empress of our kingdom?” Xian Qifeng and Luo Qinglin answered their father with firm nods. ”Since you two have decided, you both must be ready to bear all the risks. Although the situation in this realm has become much calmer and more conducive, it might change again after Zhang Fei takes them to the upper realms. Therefore, as soon as you ascend the throne, you two must solidify your leadership to prepare for any sudden changes. I will support you from a distance.”

”Thank you, Father.”

After he tried for almost a whole day and failed to master the lightning elemental law, Zhang Fei decided to bring his fifth clone to the lightning pond to protect his three women who were cultivating in the pond, especially since the number of wandering souls in the Nine Hells Realm had decreased considerably.

Zhang Fei then returned to the Red Sun Realm and checked the situation in the Shang Clan. He discovered that the clan had deactivated the barrier, particularly with the return of Shang Huaqiang and Fei Qinyuan.

Zhang Fei found Shang Huaqiang holed up in his room, checking his lower body repeatedly and cursing nonstop. However, he did not expect that Fei Qinyuan would join Shang Ziyuan and Shi Wuxian, and the three of them would engage in heated activities.

Zhang Fei decided to contact Xi Yinying, who immediately agreed to meet him a little away from the city.

In a few minutes, they were standing face-to-face, but Zhang Fei immediately noticed Xi Yinyingʼs awkwardness and anxiety. ”Did Xi Hongyan order you to seduce me?”

”Eh?” Xi Yinying looked at him with repeated blinks.

”I have dozens of women by my side, so I am well-experienced in womenʼs matters. Moreover, you are too innocent, and you canʼt hide your awkwardness and anxiety.” Xi Yinying let out a soft sigh and nodded at Zhang Fei. ”Did Xi Hongyan threaten you to seduce me?”

Xi Yinying immediately told Zhang Fei the truth, especially Xi Hongyanʼs threats to her and her family. ”Can you pretend to be in a relationship with me?”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei pinched Xi Yinyingʼs nose. ”I donʼt like fake relationships, and you shouldnʼt force yourself to obey Xi Hongyanʼs orders either.”

”But—”

”I will go to the Xi Clan to talk to Xi Hongyan, and I will make sure that she will never dare to threaten you again.” Zhang Fei immediately disappeared from that place.

Xi Yinying was confused and frightened by Zhang Feiʼs departure; she was afraid that Xi Hongyan would really kill her and her family if she met her.

”What should I do now? If I abandon my duties, my matriarch will punish me severely.” In the end, Xi Yinying decided to return to the Shang Clan, but her feelings were filled with anxiety, waiting for the outcome of Zhang Fei and Xi Hongyanʼs conversation. ”I hope he can convince my matriarch not to force me to do that.”

A while later, Zhang Fei had arrived at the Xi Clan and showed Hun Diʼs badge to the guard, who immediately led him to the main hall. Through the systemʼs map, he found that Xi Hongyan was in her room, but her name was red on the map, indicating that she was hostile to him. ʼHaha! She must have become hostile to me after hearing Xi Yinyingʼs report about my actions at the Shang Clan yesterday, and she thinks that I did that because I wanted to help the Hong Clan.ʼ

Before long, Xi Hongyan arrived at the main hall while still looking at him coldly, but Zhang Fei responded with a smile. ”Why did you come here?”

”I want you to stop threatening Xi Yinying.” Xi Hongyan frowned at Zhang Fei. ”Iʼm much younger than you, but Iʼm much more experienced than you in matters of romance. I know you ordered that girl to seduce me, and I know you must have threatened her.”

”Humph!” Xi Hongyan snorted in response. ”Xi Yinying is my tool, and I can use her however I want. If she fails to do her task, I will kill her and replace her with another.”

”Is that so?” Zhang Fei asked with narrowed eyes, causing Xi Hongyan to shiver at his killing intent. ”I know I canʼt defeat you with my current strength, but I can still do something bad to you. However, I donʼt need to bother doing anything, especially since you will eventually die because of your arrogance.”

*Boom*

Xi Hongyanʼs aura exploded as she rose from her seat. ”Are you threatening me? Even if you are Hun Diʼs disciple, I will not hesitate to kill you because of your threat.”
