Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 786: Attack The Demons

”Are you thinking about Zhang Fei, Xianʼer?” Duan Zhao approached his female disciple, who was daydreaming on a large rock.

Xian Xian turned to him and nodded. ”That kid always appears and disappears like a ghost, and Iʼve been waiting for him to come back since morning, but he still hasnʼt shown up.”

”Haha.” Duan Zhao laughed at that. ”The kiss you two had previously made an impression on your heart.”

”Master! Donʼt tease me.” Xian Xian complained with a pout. ”Iʼm old, but Iʼve never had a lover, and Iʼve dedicated my entire life to blacksmithing. He was the first man to kiss me, so itʼs hard for me to forget that.”

Duan Zhao gently patted her head, like a father to his daughter. ”You know that Zhang Fei has dozens of women by his side, and he loves them dearly, so you should already understand the risks if you two end up becoming a couple. Thus, you must prepare yourself to accept the situation, or he will let you go.”

”I know, Master.” Xian Xian pulled her legs up, hugged them, and placed her chin between her knees. ”Even though I have never had a lover, I am not an innocent woman either. The number of Zhang Feiʼs women is indeed numerous, but I donʼt think too much about that. However, I havenʼt thought about becoming his woman because I donʼt know him well yet, so our relationship is still too bland, and I still need time to solidify my feelings.”

Duan Zhao nodded in response. ”Zhang Fei is no ordinary cultivator, and he masters almost all fields, starting from blacksmithing, alchemy, and others. If he refrains from making hasty decisions, particularly when confronted with formidable adversaries, his future holds great promise. If his progress continues to increase as fast as it is now, he will become truly powerful in the future. Perhaps he will be able to stand at the top of the cultivation world one day, so he is the right man to be your husband.”

”Master, you know that I didnʼt think that far, right?” Xian Xian looked up at the night sky. ”Even if we become a couple in the future, Zhang Feiʼs success is not my success. The biggest dream in my life is to become the best blacksmith in the universe, and Iʼve worked really hard for that. One day, I will prove to everyone that not only a man can succeed in that field, but a woman can also succeed in reaching the highest point in that field.”

Duan Zhao smiled as he recalled this. ”The first time you came to my workshop, I also had my doubts about you. You were only 19 years old at that time, and your body was too thin and fragile, so I didnʼt believe that you could become a blacksmith. However, I could see high determination in the look in your eyes, so I decided to accept you as my disciple. I made the right choice, and your hard work made you the best of the four.”

”Haha.” Xian Xian laughed with pride on her face. ”Master, I might be the best among them now, but I canʼt stop working hard because Zhang Fei is chasing after us. If I relax now, he will definitely surpass me, and I donʼt want to lose to a newbie blacksmith like him. Therefore, I canʼt wait to go to the upper realms, and I will strive harder to improve my blacksmithing skills until I can achieve my dream of becoming the best blacksmith.”

Duan Zhao nodded with a smile. ”As long as you never lose your passion for improving yourself, I believe you will become the best blacksmith in the future. Go back to your room now and start cultivating, especially since you will accompany Zhang Fei to challenge the Star Tower in a few months.”

”Donʼt you have any interest in challenging the tower again, Master?”

”Not for now.” Duan Zhao replied with a shake of his head. ”Like you, I have always harbored a dream of becoming the best blacksmith, and I have wasted too much of my time in this realm. As your master, I certainly do not wish to lose to you, and I will fully focus on my blacksmithing after we go to the upper realms.”

Hearing that, Xian Xian jumped down from the rock and faced her master. ”Master, you are far more skilled than me in blacksmithing now, but I will definitely defeat you in the future, and I will be the one to become the best blacksmith.”

”Haha.” Duan Zhao burst into laughter before pinching her nose. ”All right, I will look forward to the day you surpass and defeat me in blacksmithing, and I will watch you chase your dream of becoming the best blacksmith after that.”

Xian Xian nodded and ran away. ”Good night, Master.”

After Xian Xian left, Cheng Gaoji appeared by Duan Zhaoʼs side. ”You have raised a great disciple, Little Duan. Even though her skills in blacksmithing are still inferior to yours, she truly loves and focuses on that field, and both are the most important in achieving her dreams.”

”You are right, Senior Cheng.” Duan Zhao replied with a nod. ”Xianʼer loves blacksmithing more than anything else, and her dream of becoming the best blacksmith is ingrained in her soul. Compared to my other disciples, Xianʼer has a great chance of becoming the best, and I will always support her to fulfill her dream.”

Cheng Gaoji then looked into the house. ”Gang Zhishou also has good talent in blacksmithing, but he lacks self-confidence, and he often doubts his abilities. If he canʼt change his mindset, he will face a dead end sooner or later.”

”Shouʼerʼs self-confidence used to be as high as Xianʼerʼs, but his many failures caused his self-confidence to slowly fade, especially his failure in the tower. I have advised him many times, but he still finds it difficult to change his mindset.” Duan Zhao let out a soft sigh as he looked into the distance, specifically towards the Star Tower. ”The only way for him to regain his confidence is to pass the first floor of the tower, and Zhang Fei might be able to help him with that.”

”That kid seems to like Gang Zhishou, and he obviously wants him in his group, so Iʼm sure heʼll do whatever it takes to help him.” Cheng Gaoji then looked at two different locations. ”I still find it hard to believe that he has a good relationship with the Phoenix Princess, and he also has good relationships with many cultivators from the upper realms.”

”Zhang Fei arrived in this realm about six and a half months ago, but his presence has already changed many things. The other four human kingdoms have united under his banner, and Iʼm sure heʼs already carrying out his plans for the Huangfu Kingdom. Eventually, that kingdom will fall into his hands, and he will become the sole ruler of this island despite his unwillingness.” Duan Zhao then pointed to the location of the demon island. ”Heʼs already sent someone to monitor both demon kingdoms, but I donʼt understand why he still hasnʼt made a move against them.”

Cheng Gaoji immediately spread his senses in that direction, and he found Xin Yanluo there. Additionally, he found three demons hiding in the Zheng Clan, and he guessed that Zhang Fei was holding back because of them. ”There are three powerful demons in one of those kingdoms, but they are in hibernation right now. I have met many demons in the past, but I have never seen demons like them.”

”Oh?” Duan Zhao immediately thought of that. ”Zhang Fei got information about those three demons, and they were the ancestors of the Zheng Clan. He deliberately sent Xian Yanluo to monitor them, but the female demon still couldnʼt find them. Since you were able to find them, I will tell him about this matter so he can immediately take care of them.”

Cheng Gaoji nodded at him. ”Tell that kid that the three demons are hiding deep beneath that clan, and their location is covered by a powerful formation. If he wants to make a move against them, I can help him to destroy that formation.”

”All right.”

When the three notifications appeared, Zhang Fei had just finished having fun with Shang Yumei, and he immediately listened to Duan Zhaoʼs voice message.

”What are you thinking about?” Zhang Fei told Shang Yumei about the three ancestors of the Zhen Clan. ”Do you want to destroy them now? A few months ago, you didnʼt have the strength to fight them, but you have us now. They might be able to summon a powerful demon with their combined technique, but it wonʼt be stronger than Aunt Xinxin or Cheng Gaoji. We have artifacts to protect us from the demon aura on the island, so it wonʼt affect us, and Iʼm sure we can handle them easily.”

Zhang Fei immediately carried Shang Yumei out of bed and dressed her. ”Letʼs go; weʼll pick up Cheng Gaoji before going to the demon island, and weʼll destroy the Zheng Clan tonight. After they disappear, I will take over the Dark Demon Kingdom, and Ximen Yan will be my puppet emperor.”

Within a few minutes, Zhang Fei, Shang Yumei, Hong Xinxin, and Cheng Gaoji were already standing not far from the demon island.

Xin Yanluo immediately appeared in front of them, but the presence of the three cultivators from the upper realms made her tense. ”Are you planning to destroy them now?”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei nodded at her. ”Back then, I didnʼt have the strength to fight those three old demons, but the three of them are by my side now, and they can help me destroy them. Moreover, my business on the human island is almost finished, so I will start my plans for these demons.”

Xin Yanluo was naturally aware of the strength of Hong Xinxin and Cheng Gaoji, and he was sure that they could eliminate the three old demons without any effort.

Zhang Fei raised his eyebrows while looking to the side, especially since Mai Xiaomeng suddenly appeared there. ”Why donʼt you invite me to have fun?”

”Hehe.” Hong Xinxin chuckled seeing Mai Xiaomeng pouting. ”This was a sudden decision, so we didnʼt contact you.”

”Humph.” Mai Xiaomeng snorted softly. ”Which kingdom are you targeting first?”

”That one.” Zhang Fei pointed toward the Dark Demon Kingdom. ”I have no intention of destroying that kingdom, and I want to take over it instead. However, I canʼt do it right away, and we have to destroy the three demons protecting that kingdom first.”

”Oh.” Mai Xiaomeng nodded in understanding. ”Shall we start now?”

[Master, you must lure the three old demons to summon the demon first, and you can absorb its demon essence. As for the three old demons, I am not sure if you want to absorb them, especially since your cultivation is not completely stable and your cultivation foundation will be shaky if you absorb them. If you want to absorb them, you must capture them first and absorb them after your cultivation is completely stable.]

Zhang Fei gave a light nod before telling them about his change in plans, causing all of them to frown. ”Do you really want to absorb them?”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei replied with a firm nod. ”I canʼt wait to reach the Heaven Realm, and absorbing them is the quickest solution. I wonʼt do it now, and I will wait for my cultivation to stabilize in a few days.”

Hong Xinxin let out a soft sigh before speaking to him. ”I understand your wishes to reach that stage as soon as possible, but you have taken too many shortcuts, and I am afraid that you will become addicted to taking shortcuts.”

”You should listen to her, kid.” Cheng Gaoji joined in persuading him. ”Iʼve been in your shoes, and Iʼve taken many shortcuts to increase my strength. As a result, I became addicted to taking shortcuts, and it almost ruined my life. Fortunately, my good friends helped me realize my mistakes, saving me from ruin. The demon they summoned should have no cultivation, so it doesnʼt matter if you absorb it, but you should abandon your intention to absorb the three old demons.”

”Things done hastily will never end well, so you should think it over carefully.” Mai Xiaomeng also spoke.

Zhang Fei looked at them for a while before nodding. ”All right, I wonʼt absorb the three old demons, and I will only absorb the demon summoned by them.”

Hearing that, Hong Xinxin and the others sighed with relief as they swiftly soared above the Zheng Clan.

Cheng Gaoji then took out a cannon. ”It doesnʼt matter if I destroy this clan, right?”

”Yeah.”

”Hahaha.” Cheng Gaoji laughed before channeling his qi into the cannon. He then directed it toward the Zheng Clan and shot it right away. ”Eat my attack!”

*Swoosh*

A huge Qi ball quickly shot down towards the Zheng Clan, and a huge explosion that caused a great earthquake throughout the demon island echoed.

*Boom*

Cheng Gaojiʼs powerful attack reduced the Zheng Clan to rubble in an instant, and no demon from the clan survived. Xin Yanluo took a deep breath after she witnessed that, and she stole a frightened glance at him. ʼThis guyʼs cultivation is too high, and his single attack is so deadly.ʼ

”Here they come.”

Soon, the three ancestors of the Zheng Clan immediately appeared before them. They were alarmed when they couldnʼt detect Cheng Gaojiʼs and the othersʼ cultivation, mainly because their cultivation differed by several significant levels.

Without thinking twice, the three ancestors of the Zheng Clan immediately used their combined techniques, and a massive black demon appeared in front of them.

”Foolish demons!” Cheng Gaoji easily restricted the movements of the three ancestors and the black demon.

*Roar*

The black demon released a deafening roar that could be heard from all corners of the demon island, but it was completely helpless under the restrictions of a powerful cultivator like Cheng Gaoji.

The expressions of the three ancestors of the Zheng Clan turned deathly pale, and they intended to detonate their core to bring them down with them. However, Hong Xinxin and Shang Yumei immediately made a move and sealed their cultivation, rendering them helpless. ʼFuck! Who exactly are these people? Why did they suddenly appear in this realm and attack us?ʼ

”Husband, this black demon has no cultivation, but it should be rich in demon essence, so you can absorb it now.” Shang Yumei spoke.

Zhang Fei nodded and floated in front of the black demon. He touched its body before using his demon-absorbing and devouring abilities at the same time, quickly absorbing the demonʼs demon essence.

*Roar*

The black demon could only roar in pain because of Zhang Feiʼs action, and its body gradually faded, especially since he absorbed its demon essence too quickly. Witnessing that, the three ancestors of the Zheng Clan were horrified, thinking that he would do the same to them.

ʼThis demonʼs demon essence is truly rich, but it probably wonʼt be enough to help my demon rank reach the archduke rank.ʼ Zhang Fei muttered in his heart and sped up his actions.

[Even if your demon rank canʼt directly rise to the archduke rank after this, I think you wonʼt be too far from that rank, Master. By the way, I have another solution if you want to absorb the demon essences of the three old demons.]

ʼTell me.ʼ

[Their demon essence has nothing to do with their cultivation, so you just need to cripple their cultivation before absorbing their demon essence.]

ʼFuck!ʼ Zhang Fei immediately cursed. ʼWhy have I never thought of doing that before?ʼ
