CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2046: Chapter 2054: No One Could Have Expected

More than half an hour after Jane Sampson had eaten, the mobile phone that Peter Gingery left for her finally rang.

The call was a video call from Peter Gingery, and Jane Sampson picked it up, instantly seeing Kane Forest, who was surrounded by various instruments and tubes.

At that moment, Peter Gingery was silent in the ward, and Jane Sampson was silent in the room.

Kane Forest’s feelings for her undeniably made Jane Sampson feel overwhelmed, so much so that she was at a loss, unsure how to face and reciprocate Kane Forest’s feelings for her, and the care he had shown her all these years.

Now that she thought about it, all the past coincidences weren’t truly coincidences.

Whenever she appeared in a city, Mimi Wood, not Forest, could send her many strategies.

Wherever she wanted to go, Mimi Wood, not Forest, just so happened to be going there as well.

All those coincidences were nothing more than intentional arrangements to create opportunities for a chance encounter.

”I’ll place the mobile phone by his pillowside, you can talk to him, and I’ll stand guard outside so no one comes in.” Peter Gingery placed the mobile phone by Kane Forest’s pillowside and then walked out.

Jane Sampson listened to the sound of the door closing from the other side of the phone, and after a few seconds of silence, she slowly began to speak.

”Mimi Wood, not Forest, I’m Princess Egg-Yolk, also Jane Sampson. I’m sorry, I should have let you know sooner that I’m alright, I’m living well.”

”Because I’m still alive, please, wake up soon. You still have daddy and mommy, an unreliable younger brother, Alexander Forest, and Jasmine Seven. They will all worry about you. And you, leaving such a big company like the Forest Clan Group, aren’t you afraid Alexander will ruin it in no time?”

...

Jane Sampson talked a lot with Kane Forest over the phone, expressing her gratitude to him the most and recalling their fun moments in the game.

After talking for about ten minutes, Jane Sampson heard the sound of the ward’s door opening, and then she stopped.

Peter Gingery’s voice soon followed, ”Someone’s coming, I’ll hang up the call.”

Before this, it was Alexander Forest who was guarding the ward. After Peter Gingery arrived, he found an excuse to send Alexander Forest out.

Just as Peter Gingery pocketed the mobile phone, Alexander Forest pushed the door open and entered.

Peter Gingery turned his head and noticed that Alexander Forest was holding a tablet computer.

”Didn’t the doctor suggest we try stimulating my brother? So I thought, why not play Jane’s songs for him every day? Maybe listening to her songs will wake him up.” Alexander Forest placed the pad on the table next to him and said, ”Before, I was puzzled as to why my brother’s music app only had two or three songs, all sung by Jane Sampson. At that time, I didn’t think much of it. If I had realized it earlier and had a good talk with him, he might not have taken such an extreme path.”

”Who would’ve thought, the reserved type is a match for my brother.” Peter Gingery glanced at the pad and nodded, ”Listening to her songs isn’t a bad idea.”

It was during this conversation with Alexander Forest that Peter Gingery, as a veteran single dog, vaguely realized that James Black hadn’t mentioned Alexander’s situation to Jane Sampson.

One reason was that James Black’s information wasn’t that up-to-date, so he didn’t know the extent of Kane Forest’s injuries.

Another reason, which was likely the majority of the reason.

James Black didn’t know how to talk to Jane Sampson about this matter.

He felt it was painful for him.

And he feared that Jane Sampson would feel even worse upon hearing it.
