CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2044: Chapter 2052: In the Clouds and Underground

”Mr. Forest said that after his death, he wants to be buried as close to you as possible,” Peter Gingery said heavily, then looked up at Jane Sampson, waiting for her reaction.

A person who can say such last words indicates that from the beginning, he genuinely embraced the certainty of his demise. Later, during the waiting process for death, he calmly accepted the worst outcome about himself and peacefully arranged his final resting place.

Even in death, he wanted to be closer to Jane Sampson.

”So, that day when the little psycho was attacked at the pub doorway, was it because of Mr. Forest?” Jane Sampson sat there, completely dazed.

That day, she was upstairs listening to the little psycho cursing the person who attacked him, while James Black was downstairs applying medicine to his wound. But Jane Sampson did not know that the person would be Kane Forest.

Even though she’d seen Kane Forest hiding in the crowd in the photo, she never thought Kane Forest would like her so much.

”Am I even worth all this to him?” Jane Sampson gently bit her lips, ”I’m so spoiled, so willful, not good at all. I’ve always thought that besides James Black, no one would like me. I never thought Mr. Forest would...”

”If I knew early on that Mr. Forest had these feelings for me, rather than the friendship I felt for him, from the start, I would have kept my distance from him and not even met him,” Jane Sampson raised her hand to pat her head, ”How could I be so foolish, not knowing anything from the start?”

If she had known earlier, she would have distanced herself further from Kane Forest, not even stayed in touch, not even be friends. Gradually, they would have returned to being strangers. Given the passage of time, perhaps Kane Forest would have long since forgotten those feelings for her, and there wouldn’t have been the day when Kane Forest lost his mind because of her, resulting in the current situation where he’s lying in the hospital in a critical condition.

”It’s not your fault. After all, if not for this incident, no one would have known Mr. Forest liked you. Mr. Forest is quite similar to my brother; things they don’t want others to know are kept hidden very well. It’s hard for anyone to notice easily.” Peter Gingery said, ”Originally, you’re recovering, so I shouldn’t be telling you these things. But regarding the hospital matter, the doctor said Mr. Forest inherently has a weak desire to survive, so the situation isn’t optimistic.”

Peter Gingery explained, ”Mr. Forest has even prepared his last words, seemingly waiting for this outcome. Alexander Forest said Mr. Forest might have liked you for many years, even before we had a gathering last year, he probably had been secretly in love with Princess Egg-Yolk. But he’s always been introverted and slow to react emotionally. Despite liking you, he kept it in his heart and never knew how to act on it.”

”Alexander Forest said before our gathering last year, Kane Forest was in a particularly good mood for several days. But after meeting in person, he found out Princess Egg-Yolk was actually you. Perhaps because he knew you were already married to my brother, Kane Forest was even more afraid of confessing to you, afraid that confessing would mean not even being friends, or perhaps causing trouble for you.”

This kind of affection, Peter Gingery did not understand, but he could imagine the feelings Kane Forest might have when he saw Jane Sampson walk into the villa during vacation and introduced herself as Princess Egg-Yolk.

From the clouds, falling to the ground level.

Later, whatever emotions and mindset Kane Forest used to face Jane Sampson, those who haven’t personally experienced it cannot claim to empathize.
