CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2036: Chapter 2044: Agreed

Jane Sampson felt like she was floating as she walked into the bathroom in her shoes. Only then did she take a moment to gaze at herself in the mirror, looking at the icy beauty inside, and sighed.

”Brush your teeth first.” James Black followed her in and squeezed some toothpaste for Jane Sampson, ”Be careful with your arm, don’t let it touch the water. I’ll apply medicine to it again later.”

”It’s almost healed~” Jane Sampson took the toothbrush, held it in her mouth, and sighed first before her hand started moving, her gaze fixed on James Black, not knowing what she was thinking.

Until she suddenly heard James Black say something, her expression froze, and her gaze finally shifted.

”What did you just say?” Jane Sampson took the toothbrush out of her mouth.

”Plans have changed. Tonight, I’ll take you home.” James Black said, ”Stay in the room tonight, don’t go anywhere. Wait for me to come up and find you, then go downstairs with me.”

Jane Sampson nodded slowly after a few seconds, saying, ”Oh.”

She could go home now.

She could finally go home.

Her first reaction was genuinely happy.

But after the happiness faded, realizing James Black couldn’t go home with her, Jane Sampson let out the third sigh of the morning, ”Oh.”

Only after she rinsed all the toothpaste from her mouth did Jane Sampson reach out and tug at James Black’s arm with her finger wet with water, softly saying, ”I’ll be careful when I’m back. You take care of yourself too. I remember what you said. When I go home, I’ll eat well, take my medicine, listen to the doctor, and also listen to grandfather. You don’t need to worry about me.”

A thoughtful and sensible girl.

James Black reached out and pulled Jane Sampson into his arms.

”Okay, I promise I’ll do what I said, but you also can’t forget what you promised.” James Black patted Jane Sampson’s head, ”When you go back, be obedient, and later stay away from Kane Forest.”

”Alright~ huh? Kane Forest? Why should I stay away from him?” Jane Sampson thought she had misheard.

”You don’t need to know that much. Anyway, you’ve already promised.” James Black thought, he’d rather be a mute than explain this.

Jealousy.

Also insecurity.

”When did I promise?” Jane Sampson shook her head in denial.

”Last night at midnight.” James Black replied firmly, then turned to wipe Jane Sampson’s face with a towel and pulled her out unceremoniously.

”Are you the devil?” Jane Sampson asked James Black seriously, looking into his eyes.

King Black, have you upgraded again?

She had a good night’s sleep last night; how could she have promised him anything at midnight?

No need to ask, Jane Sampson already knew James Black’s tyrannical flaws were acting up again, saying one thing without accepting rebuttal; he needs to change this habit!

The young man hadn’t gone out all day due to his injuries, but by the evening, around seven o’clock, his wound became inflamed, so he had to go to the hospital for bandaging.

James Black volunteered to accompany the young man to the hospital, leaving the mute aunt alone with Jane Sampson.

However, soon after James Black left, Jane Sampson’s room had one more person.

”Sister-in-law.” The person crawled in from the window behind because James Black had previously instructed Jane Sampson that if he was absent, someone would come in temporarily to protect her safety. So upon hearing the sound, Jane Sampson quickly went to open the window, moving quickly, not daring to delay, fearing even a second would reveal them to a passerby.
