CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2025: Chapter 2033: Expensive

James Black glanced at Jane Sampson downloading a game. Seeing it wasn’t the one she usually loves to play, he said nothing, fearing she might accidentally log into her old game account.

Regarding Jane Sampson’s question, James Black thought for a moment and replied with one word, ”Expensive.”

Jane Sampson was stunned, then let out a gentle laugh, and only then did she start to carefully scrutinize the clothes James Black was wearing.

Touching the fabric, there was no need to mention how coarse it was, the gray T-shirt looked like it was 50 bucks for two pieces from the carpet.

”Are you Master Strongman who’s very, very poor?” Jane Sampson covered her mouth, giggling, suspecting that this was a specially bought second-hand mobile phone, possibly even deliberately having the mobile phone screen broken.

Seeing Jane Sampson laughing, James Black added, ”The money for your clothes and medicine was also borrowed.”

Jane Sampson blinked at James Black, obviously hiding her laughter.

Once the game download completed, Jane Sampson used the current WhatsApp account on James Black’s mobile phone to log into the game.

While Jane Sampson was playing the game, James Black hugged her and watched from next. The first few levels of the game were almost zero in difficulty, and every time Jane Sampson passed a level, she would happily raise her eyebrows at him, looking as if waiting for praise.

Seeing her playing happily and in good spirits, James Black felt much relieved in his heart, but he didn’t forget to occasionally reach out to touch the bowl next to him. Once he felt the temperature was about right, he reached out and took the mobile phone from Jane Sampson’s hand.

”Eat first.” He tucked the mobile phone into his pocket.

Jane Sampson, in the midst of playing excitement, wasn’t too happy about being interrupted. With the hand that wasn’t injured, she tried to reach into James Black’s pocket, muttering discontentedly, ”I can eat and play at the same time.”

”No.” James Black decisively rejected Jane Sampson’s suggestion, turning his body to avoid Jane Sampson’s hand.

Jane Sampson fixed her gaze on James Black for a few seconds, and only then unwillingly withdrew her empty hand, ”Even a sick person gets no special treatment?”

Knowing James Black’s personality, when it comes to such matters, he would say one is one. Jane Sampson complained but didn’t stubbornly insist on such a small thing with James Black.

She glanced at the bowl of porridge, sighed inwardly, and resignedly accepted the bowl.

Jane Sampson took the bowl in her hands and ate with small bites, not allowing James Black to feed her.

James Black waited for a while before speaking to her, ”After eating later, you need to act along.”

”How to act?” Jane Sampson raised her eyes to look at James Black.

James Black thought for a moment before replying, ”Act as if you’re hopeless and refuse to take the medicine.”

Jane Sampson instantly understood.

A woman who had just experienced an overwhelming disaster last night, many of the mentally weaker people might indeed feel their heart turn to ashes, and as a result, some might develop pessimistic thoughts.

Even thoughts of suicide.

Jane Sampson thought James Black had this in mind, which is why he asked her to act this way.

However, in James Black’s heart, this wasn’t the case.

What James Black thought was merely his worry about Jane Sampson’s weak constitution, the unhealed wound, fearing she would keep having a fever repeatedly, just like last night.

If that really was the case, James Black didn’t want to delay their plan until three days later.

Therefore, he needed Jane Sampson to pretend she didn’t want to live anymore and refuse to take medicine, and he would forcibly feed her medicine, constantly depleting the existing medical supplies in the villa through this means.

The young man and the mute aunt wouldn’t let him take Jane Sampson to the hospital.

However, they wouldn’t disagree if the mute aunt went to the pharmacy to buy medicine.
