CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2011: Chapter 2019: Let It Go?

After the mute aunt had left for ten plus minutes, James Black finally stood up, using his mobile phone, with its screen shattered beyond recognition, to contact those outdoors, and only then did he disseminate the situation of Jane Sampson being with him.

Since the burned corpse was transported back to the criminal investigation team, Harper Black and Brooke Black had not left or stayed away from the police station, remaining there waiting for updates.

By the time the sun set, the news of Jane Sampson being murdered and her body thrown by the riverside had become widely known.

Harper Black and Brooke Black browsed the news with furrowed eyebrows, feeling both angered and saddened.

Meanwhile, in the Carter Family, Father Carter and Mother Carter could only watch in distress, yet they adamantly refused to let Old Sir Carter and Granny Carter find out.

Granny Carter was hospitalized, prompting James Carter to leave the two elders’ mobile phones at home, specifically instructing the hospital’s doctors to ensure the events outside were not disclosed to the two elders.

The hospital’s doctors and nurses, though not understanding why the two elders were so concerned with Jane Sampson’s affairs, dared not be negligent regarding the tasks James Carter and the Carter Family had specially instructed, since the two elders were indeed too old to endure any shock.

James Carter remained in the ward all day, accompanying Old Sir Carter and taking care of Granny Carter. Granny Carter lay in the sickbed, frequently urging people away, insisting they quickly look for Jane Sampson to come back.

When James Carter was once again chased out of the ward by the two elders, he opened the door to see Jillian Carter approaching from afar, carrying a bouquet and bringing fruits.

Father Carter and Mother Carter also noticed Jillian and quickly intercepted her first.

”Dad and mom, Joseph Shaw is unable to rush over from the guard team at this moment, so I came over first. He asked me to explain to you that he would come by to visit Granny later tonight.” Jillian Carter seemed in good spirits, ”How is Granny’s condition?”

”She’s relatively fine, but she keeps worrying about Jane.” Mother Carter sighed.

”Dad, mom, brother, please accept my condolences. Jane’s misfortune is indeed hard to accept, but the dead cannot return; you should all try to move on.” Jillian Carter knew that she should not show any sign of glee at this moment, therefore she spoke in a restrained voice.

Yet, she felt incredibly delighted inside.

Seeing the news on the Internet realm while at home, Jillian Carter was genuinely ecstatic, almost to the point of madness.

It was as if divine assistance was on her side; Jane Sampson was the one she most disliked seeing now, and the heavens had truly taken Jane Sampson away.

Jillian Carter was joyous to an unbelievable degree, saying that God had favored her since childhood, allowing her to escape the Chip Family’s miserable sea and join the Carter Family. Hence, the divine should continue to treat her well like this.

Now that Jane Sampson was dead, no one in this world could make her uncomfortable anymore.

With Jane Sampson gone, there would be no one to compete with her for the Carter Family, nor anyone to vie for daddy, mother, and brother.

”Move on from what?” James Carter’s voice barely concealed his displeasure, ”Just because people outside talk nonsense, you believe everything? The police station hasn’t received any information yet, what condolences? As of now, there is still no evidence to prove the burned female corpse is Jane Sampson!”

”Your grandparents have finally gotten some rest, Jillian, you should head back first, and join Joseph later tonight to come over. For now, do not disturb grandpa or grandma’s rest.” James Carter instinctively did not want Jillian to meet his grandparents right at this critical moment; with Jillian’s unrestrained mouth, he feared she might say something inappropriate and agitate the two elders.
