CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2004: Chapter 2012: Also at This Place

Jane Sampson softly responded with a ”hmm,” not knowing if he could hear.

She could feel a warm moisture on her neck.

It was his tears.

That year, beneath the ruins, she had never seen his tears.

And now, he was letting his tears fall on her, yet still not letting her see them.

At this moment, Jane Sampson suddenly regretted it again.

She shouldn’t have cried in front of him, nor should she have called out in pain.

He must be very sad, probably even sadder than she was.

”James Black.” Jane Sampson softly called his name.

”I’m here.” James Black responded quickly, but it took several seconds before he lifted his head to look at her again.

The shimmering tears at the corner of her eyes had somehow been wiped away. She was looking at him with her eyebrows slightly furrowed.

”I just heard that person call you Thomas Strongman? What’s going on? Why did he capture me? Is it because of me that you got exposed?” After crying and feeling wronged, her rationality returned, and Jane Sampson’s heart was filled with deep worry.

”That day, when you were at school shooting outdoor scenes, he happened to see you. It had nothing to do with me. He didn’t know about our relationship, just saw you and had you on his mind.” James Black’s palm gently caressed Jane Sampson’s head, ”He is one of the targets of my mission this time. There’s a Big Brother above him, a gang.”

Seeing Jane Sampson’s eyes still filled with concern, James Black continued, ”Last night, he burned a person at midnight, took the sleeve of your clothes, smeared your blood, misleading others that the person burned to death was you. This morning, the news broke, and the entire internet realm is buzzing about your supposed death.”

”While I was in the rental house checking out this news, he came in to find me, just in time, thinking I was one of your fans, quite fond of you, and then brought me here, saying he wanted to hand you over to me.” James Black kissed the corner of her mouth lightly, ”Don’t worry about me, just, I still need to think about how to get you out. You may need to stay here for some more time.”

When Jane Sampson heard it wasn’t because of her that James Black was exposed, she finally relaxed her anxious heart.

”What about you?” Jane Sampson instinctively squeezed James Black’s finger, ”With me here, where will you go? Are you staying here too?”

”Yes, I’m staying here.” James Black nodded, ”I will be here with you until we send you out.”

Pausing for a moment, James Black asked again, ”Are you afraid?”

”Not anymore~” Jane Sampson gently shook her head, ”With you here, I’m not afraid.”

After enduring the mental and physical torment of the past few days, nothing could scare Jane Sampson anymore.

Even a few days ago, she was only afraid of never seeing James Black again.

And now, James Black was right next to her, holding her, talking with her, so she was not afraid of anything.

”I’ve already asked Auntie to buy ointment, when she comes back, I’ll apply some medicine on your wounds so you’ll feel better.” When James Black mentioned the injuries on Jane Sampson’s arm, his heart trembled, ”Once we get you out, I will have my aunt take you to the hospital.”

Jane Sampson loved beauty so much, James Black didn’t know how to comfort her.

Her arm had so many wounds, varying in depth, the biggest fear was the scarring.

But these wounds warned James Black that he had failed to protect her.

He failed his responsibility as a husband.

”I want to take a bath.” Jane Sampson glanced towards the bathroom, using her gaze to ask James Black if she could, ”I haven’t taken a bath in several days.”

”I’ll carry you in.” James Black had checked the bathroom, and there was nothing to guard against. He needed to apply medicine to her arm anyway, clean her arm’s blood to prevent infection.
