CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2040: Chapter 2048: Not Afraid

Jane Sampson nodded and quickly complied.

As for any identifying item on her, it would be nothing but the ring taken by that young psychopath.

After changing clothes and wearing the mask, hat, and sunglasses, Jane Sampson followed the person next to her and got off the car, then directly boarded the helicopter next to them.

Jane Sampson could clearly feel that once she stepped onto the helicopter, the people who had been protecting her visibly breathed a sigh of relief.

Once Jane Sampson sat steadily, the plane took off.

Jane Sampson leaned against the window, looking out at the city’s night view. The experiences of these days felt like a surreal and thrilling dream to her.

”Let me see the hand that was injured.”

Suddenly, someone next to her spoke one sentence.

The voice was very familiar, and Jane Sampson turned sharply to look at the person beside her, utterly astonished, ”Grandfather?”

After Jane Sampson boarded the plane, she didn’t carefully look at the person sitting beside her, wearing a hat and with head lowered. She thought it was just one of the people escorting her back to Capital Province.

She was preoccupied with the view outside the window and didn’t pay much attention to the build of the person sitting next to her, so it wasn’t until now, after hearing the voice, that Jane recognized him.

Old Master Black affectionately patted Jane Sampson’s head, ”This time, my little Jane has really suffered. Have you been especially scared these days?”

The lingering desolation from leaving James Black vanished immediately upon seeing Old Master Black.

Listening to Old Master Black’s concern, Jane Sampson shook her head, thought for a moment, and added, ”Just a little bit afraid. Later when James Black came, I wasn’t afraid at all. He stayed with me, took care of me. I ate and slept every day, just like at home.”

Old Master Black knew Jane Sampson’s nature, who would never complain about grievances or sadness to anyone.

In her childhood, she lived so cautiously, never daring to trouble anyone, fearing they would find her bothersome or useless, which would result in her having no home.

This habit was almost ingrained in her bones.

When Julie Sampson would cry in her parents’ arms, complaining and unhappy, Jane Sampson would merely stand quietly on the side, almost without any presence.

It is said that crying children get milk, but Jane Sampson, who remained silent, was thoroughly overlooked by the Samton Family. ”You don’t have to be strong with your grandfather here; if you’re scared, just say it. Luckily, now grandfather has personally come to take you home.” Old Master Black couldn’t rest easy, so after knowing the plan changed, he couldn’t help but come in person to bring Jane Sampson back.

He wanted to see Jane the moment she was rescued, to stay by her side and hug this little lass he watched grow up.

”Grandfather...” Old Master Black’s words instantly turned Jane Sampson’s eyes red, ”I’m not afraid, not at all, because I know you all would surely find me, definitely bring me home. No matter how difficult it is, I know you would never give up on me, never abandon me. Sooner or later, you would find me and take me home.”

However, at that time, Jane Sampson was somewhat afraid, afraid that when that day came, what the Black Family would receive would be her remains.

She was afraid of bringing sadness and sorrow to the Black Family, afraid of Old Master Black experiencing the pain of burying a black-haired person as a white-haired elder.

Also afraid that her time with James Black in this life would be too short, unsure if God would be willing to give her another chance to come back.
