CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2014: Chapter 2022: I Know

”If everything goes smoothly, the rescue operation will be conducted in three days.” The other party said, paused, and then added, ”Last time you mentioned that the southside Carter Family are Jane Sampson’s biological parents, right?”

”Yes.” Old Master Black nodded, ”I think it’s best to inform the Carter Family about this in advance.”

”Jane is still alive, and it’s no big deal to tell the Carter Family this. I heard that Old Madam Carter, due to the kidnapping of Jane, suffered a shock and fainted, and was urgently sent to the hospital, and has not been discharged yet.”

”The elderly are getting on in years, and if we don’t give them a heads-up, when they see the Public Security Department’s confirmation of Jane’s death, they’ll probably faint dead away.” The other party also considered the age of the two elders of the Carter Family, so they agreed to inform them.

”But for safety reasons, remember to instruct the Carter Family that Jillian Carter, their foster daughter, including their son-in-law, must not be informed of these matters.” Obviously, the other party was also aware of the past conflicts between Jillian Carter and Jane Sampson, after all, the storm they stirred up on the internet realm had become widely known.

Moreover, Jane Sampson grew up under the watchful eyes of many people inside the great courtyard. When Jane became an actor, the elders in the great courtyard naturally paid more attention to Jane’s news, and thus, knew about her affairs with Jillian Carter.

”Yes.” Guarding against Jillian Carter, this matter did not require special instructions for Old Master Black to understand. That foster daughter of the Carter Family, what else could she do but spoil things?

After hanging up the phone, Old Master Black stood there dazed for a long time before putting the phone back.

Next to him, Peter Gingery stared at Old Master Black for a long time, until Old Master Black finally moved. Then he asked, his voice trembling, ”Is there any news about Jane?”

When Old Master Black was making a call, Peter Gingery was sitting next to him listening. He couldn’t hear what the person on the phone was saying, but he heard Old Master Black clearly.

He heard Old Master Black ask when Jane Sampson could come home, and heard him say ”it’s no big deal” as well as that one sentence.

But he also heard another sentence, about announcing death news.

Peter Gingery was most afraid that these few words combined meant that James Black was fine, but Jane Sampson was dead, and Old Master Black was asking when Jane Sampson’s remains could be brought home.

Peter Gingery was truly terrified. So, when he spoke, his voice was shaking badly.

Even though Jane Sampson’s surname was Sampson, and she had no blood relation with him, both were truly brought up together, just like real siblings.

In Peter Gingery’s eyes, Jane Sampson was family, a loved one, a sister, someone he would help take care and protect for a lifetime.

”There’s some news. She’s not in any critical condition, just suffered some external injuries. She’s with your brother right now.” Old Master Black said, ”As for the exact reasons, we’ll know when she returns. For now, this matter needs to be kept secret from the outside world, because we need to temporarily announce the little lass’s death news.”

Peter Gingery nodded repeatedly, ”I know, I know.”

He kept repeating ”I know” like a mindless robot, endlessly chanting those three words.

After muttering for a while, he quickly changed his tone, ”It’s fine as long as she’s okay, it’s fine! The naughty girl is coming back! I’m going to buy some snacks she loves, take advantage of Brother not being home, and let her indulge a little!”

Peter Gingery said as he was about to go out, but after a few steps, he turned back and asked, ”When is the little lass coming back?”
