I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 648: Chapter 647

The banquet was held at noon, and most of the food at this banquet was provided by Heavenly Blessing. After all, it was hosted by the child of the major shareholder of Heavenly Blessing, so the best had to be provided.

Peng Baocheng came with his wife and son. His son had just returned from the United Kingdom and was not planning to go back. He planned to succeed his father in the business. For this reason, Peng Baocheng immediately informed his son of the current general situation.

Peng Chuming is twenty-two this year, and he can be described as handsome and charming, inheriting the good looks of his parents. He stands about 1.8 meters tall, with clear, bright eyes that carry a sharp aura.

Peng Baocheng did not immediately tell his son about Beisitian’s particular attributes. He wanted to use this opportunity to test his son’s insight, which could also be considered a challenge. If his son couldn’t measure up, he would encourage him to pursue another field and keep away from Beisitian.

Having lived over forty years, Peng Baocheng was also perceptive. If his son wasn’t capable around Beisitian, not only would he not find his footing, but he could become a stepping stone for others. Rather than end up that way, it would be better to choose a different career.

But if his son had vision and skills, following Beisitian might result in achievements greater than following him, his father.

Peng Chuming only knew that his father had joined a faction and found a backing. Now, they were attending the one-month celebration of that backer’s child, indicating that this backer wasn’t very old.

However, Peng Chuming never imagined that the other party would be about his age!

After his initial surprise, Peng Chuming’s face revealed nothing more. He understood his father well; his father wouldn’t jest with his vast business empire.

There was certainly a reason he wasn’t aware of.

Or could it be that the woman’s family background was substantial?

Before uncovering the truth, Peng Chuming wouldn’t casually voice his opinion, lest he appear indecisive.

The banquet hall wasn’t large, but the attendees were of significant importance. From Tian Heming onward, the four uncles and aunts of the Tian family all arrived, as did the peers of Beisitian. Besides the direct family members, Tian Hezhen was also invited.

The Tian family alone occupied two tables.

The heads of the Wei family also attended. Naturally, Wei Yuanqing and the Wei Family Brothers were present.

Wu Yuekai came with Li Xuejun and two other guards. They couldn’t just sit by idly, and arrangements had to be made for them.

Chen Jinliang and Li Yunfeng were also invited by Beisitian. During the pregnancy, especially during Luo Xudong’s absence, they offered considerable help. Doctor Bei was indeed of great assistance, and Beisitian was very grateful to them.

Nian Fanghua and Ning Jiayin were, of course, very familiar with each other. Their families used to have frequent interactions, and after Ning Jiayin’s changes, Nian Fanghua was saddened for quite a while.

However, the sons of the two families had a significant age gap. Though Ma Tianlai was older than Peng Baocheng, his son was just half the age of Peng Baocheng’s son.

So the two children couldn’t become playmates; the generation gap was too wide.

Beisitian originally hadn’t planned to invite Cheng ZhenGuo and his wife, but they inquired about the address and time and came to congratulate with Cheng Tianji.

Cheng Tianji was happy to attend his sister’s child’s one-month celebration but also a bit upset; why hadn’t his sister invited him?

Cheng Tianji was very close with Luo Xuping. Both families had telephones, so Luo Xuping had long known, and as soon as they arrived, Luo Xuping greeted them.

Cheng Tianji hadn’t seen so many people for a long time and felt somewhat frightened. Luo Xuping took his arm and led him inside, leaving Mrs. Cheng intending to follow behind, but Cheng ZhenGuo stopped her.

”Let them go; we can’t always shelter the child.”

Mrs. Cheng knew her husband was right but still felt anxious.

”Don’t worry, this is Doctor Bei’s event; no one dares to make a scene or bully others at her banquet,” Cheng ZhenGuo said with a smile.

He was certainly appeasing his wife with these words, but Cheng ZhenGuo truly thought so. Seeing the hall, Cheng ZhenGuo knew that those who attended were sincerely invited by Beisitian; there shouldn’t be any negative situations.

Luo Xuping dragged Cheng Tianji over to his little niece and nephew, unable to contain his excitement for showing off.

The three little babies were also in the hall, albeit accompanied by Gao Ma, two temporary workers, and Mrs. Qin. Many people wanted to see them, but they had to come one by one to avoid scaring the children.

Mrs. Qin was especially protective.

Seeing his mother there, Luo Xuping pursed his lips and said to Cheng Tianji, ”Looks like we have to wait a moment; my mom’s over there and won’t let me get close to the babies.”

Cheng Tianji asked puzzled, ”Why?”

”She says I’m too young and fears I might clumsily hurt them.”

Cheng Tianji shrugged, ”Then stay away; you really are too young. Your sister’s kids are so delicate, what if you actually bumped them?”

Luo Xuping widened his eyes, ”Which side are you on? Why are you siding with others!”

As Luo Xudong passed by, he glanced at his younger brother. This kid was already showing no sense of kinship; better to keep him away from the children in the future.

As the two chatted, a lean boy stood not far away. This boy had a sallow complexion, as if malnourished, though better than Cheng Tianji.

Upon seeing him, Luo Xudong smiled and brought Cheng Tianji over to introduce him, ”This is Ma Ran, Uncle Ma’s son. This is Cheng Tianji, Uncle Cheng’s son.”

Neither knew who Uncle Cheng or Uncle Ma was, but it didn’t matter. The two children exchanged a glance; one thought, surprisingly, there’s someone skinnier than me, while the other thought someone was similarly malnourished like himself.

From afar, Cheng ZhenGuo and his wife saw their son gain yet another little companion; the couple exchanged smiles, knowing it would help with their son’s recovery.

The three children stood not far away, waiting for their chance to see the babies. As the guests had mostly arrived and the crowd around the babies thinned out, they finally ran over.

The three babies were truly tiny, and the three half-grown boys leaned over the wooden cradle with wide eyes, wondering how there could be such small children in the world!

Seeing the babies, Cheng Tianji reiterated, ”Luo Xuping, really, you should keep your distance from them. They’re too delicate, and if you touch them, it would be distressing!”

Luo Xuping rolled his eyes at him and leaned against the wooden crib, smiling joyfully. After all, they were his nephews and nieces.

”The eldest is a boy, named Luo Yirui. These two are girls, this one is Luo Yixuan, and this one is Luo Yiqian. No, that’s not right; this one is Luo Yiqian, and this one is Luo Yixuan?”

Luo Xuping was a bit puzzled.
