I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 643: Chapter 642

When the day broke, Beisitian woke up. She opened her eyes and saw the white ceiling, feeling a bit disoriented about where she was. But she quickly remembered, wasn’t she in the delivery room having a baby?

Thinking about the child, she startled awake, and completely alert, tried to sit up. Yet she felt a pain in her lower abdomen, her body weakened, and her just-lifted head fell back down as she gasped in a breath of cool air.

Luo Xudong was instantly awakened, seeing Beisitian with her eyes open, grimacing in pain and taking sharp breaths. He instinctively leaned forward to kiss her forehead.

Beisitian was stunned because she felt Luo Xudong’s fear and obsession. Unconsciously, she asked, ”What’s wrong?”

Her voice trembled slightly. Could it be that the child...

Luo Xudong smiled and gently kissed her somewhat dry lips, ”You really have no conscience. I worried all night for you, and you’re thinking about those three little things, right?”

Although Luo Xudong’s tone was one of ’jealousy’, he was actually telling Beisitian that the children were fine, even though he hadn’t seen them yet.

Because it was still the middle of the night, the babies hadn’t been brought over yet and were still in the infant care room.

”Boys or girls?” Beisitian touched Luo Xudong’s face, feeling a little stubble that prickled her hand.

”One boy and two girls,” Luo Xudong said with a smile.

Upon hearing this, Beisitian smiled, ”That’s wonderful.” She liked girls, though she never explicitly said it. But she liked girls, and having one boy and two girls, with both a son and daughters, was as good as it could get!

”What’s wrong?” Beisitian asked again.

Luo Xudong didn’t hide anything, telling Beisitian everything that happened from start to finish. Beisitian was in a daze, as it was Bei Jiale who saved her!

”But why save me?” Beisitian couldn’t help but wonder.

Despite being blood sisters with Bei Jiale, they hadn’t seen each other for so many years. They didn’t have any real relationship, but there was indeed some suspicion. So she couldn’t quite understand why Bei Jiale would spend so much of her Original Essence Qi Spirit to save her.

Beisitian didn’t have to think to know that to save her, Bei Jiale must have used Original Essence Qi Spirit, as only that had such efficacy!

But the Original Essence Qi Spirit was extremely precious to a Mystic Doctor. Bei Jiale’s way of spending it as if it cost her nothing left Beisitian puzzled. She used up so much Original Essence Qi Spirit only on those she deeply cared about.

Like the old man, or Luo Xudong.

This question Luo Xudong didn’t know, ”She will be back.”

When the time comes, everything must be asked clearly, including the matters with Beidewang.

Beisitian nodded, feeling sleepy. Even though she had Bei Jiale’s Primordial Energy Talisman, she had just completed surgery and would need a lot of rest. Sleeping would also help her replenish energy and recover strength.

However, she really wanted to see the children but couldn’t resist the drowsiness. She fell asleep while talking to Luo Xudong.

Luo Xudong tucked her in properly, taking a deep breath, finally relaxing. No matter what challenges they might face, as long as the family was together, there was nothing they couldn’t overcome.

Beisitian had just fallen asleep when the nurse came in with the babies. Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo followed behind, while the others had left around five in the morning.

Luo Xuping was also taken away by Wei Zhongxun and Tian Zhi. The child was too young to miss sleep, so the two of them stayed at the small courtyard with Luo Xuping, sending him to school during the day.

Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo also napped a bit upon Professor Qiu’s arrangement. In the morning, a nurse called them, saying the babies should be brought to their mother’s side, so they followed.

Entering the ward, the nurse placed the three baby beds next to the main bed, so that Beisitian could see them when she woke up.

”Is the patient awake?”

The doctor who came for a checkup asked as he followed in.

”She was awake for a while just now and has fallen asleep again,” Luo Xudong replied.

The doctor nodded, ”Good, being awake is good. Until she passes gas, don’t let her eat or drink. Once the anesthesia wears off, the wound will hurt. You need to inform the patient about it.” The doctor then approached to check Beisitian’s condition.

The voices woke Beisitian, who opened her eyes drowsily. Then she felt a hand pressing down hard under her ribs, and a sudden sharp pain surged up, making her involuntarily groan softly.

”Hold on a bit.”

The doctor said, continuing to press twice, making Beisitian break out in cold sweat from the pain.

”When the family members have time, press it a few times. Because it wasn’t a natural birth, the uterus didn’t go through contractions and can’t recover on its own. So, this method helps expel the clotted blood, aiding the uterus in recovery.”

Beisitian weakly nodded, for the pain just now was really too much, it made her whole body feel as if it were trembling.

There’s no escaping the destiny of pain when having a child. Natural birth hurts before, and a cesarean section hurts after. Like Beisitian, who went through both, experiences pain both ways.

Right now, Beisitian only felt as if her uterus was just under her stomach, and the bloating pain was quite apparent, making her feel as if her uterus was ’swollen’.

Beisitian knew that with each press, some clotted blood would be expelled, which was beneficial for her, but this kind of pain was indeed terrifying.

”Dear, please step outside, and let me change Little Tian’er’s pad.” Mrs. Qin said.

Luo Anguo stood up and went out immediately.

Mrs. Qin called Luo Xudong to help, lifted Beisitian’s quilt, and saw the pad was already blood-red. Luo Xudong helped lift her legs, perhaps a bit too forcefully, tugging at Beisitian’s wound, making her frown in pain.

”Gentle, gentle, the anesthesia has just worn off!” Mrs. Qin admonished with a stern look.

Luo Xudong immediately eased his movement, and Mrs. Qin carefully pulled out the used pad, rolled it up, and put it into the trash can aside, to be cleaned out later. Then she changed a new pad for Beisitian.

”Put on the small pants for her,” Mrs. Qin instructed.

With small pants and a maternity sanitary pad, it was much better.

Seeing Mrs. Qin’s deft hands and knowing she had prepared in advance, Beisitian was quite moved.

After finishing these, Mrs. Qin picked up a child to show Beisitian, smiling as she said, ”Look, this is your baby.”

She placed one baby beside Beisitian. The small child hadn’t opened his eyes yet and was sleeping soundly. Beisitian turned her head, staring at him intently.

One by one, Mrs. Qin brought the babies over for Beisitian to see, making her feel warm inside.

Mrs. Qin placed one of them into Luo Xudong’s hands. It was also the first time Luo Xudong had seen his own child, such a small bundle, but his eyes widened, and his whole body stiffened, not daring to move in fear that any big or wrong movement might harm the child.

Mrs. Qin chuckled, demonstrating how to hold him properly.
