I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 622: Chapter 621

Madam Yun is not someone beyond worldly matters; as long as she’s human, she has emotions and desires. So when she learned of Beisitian’s identity and had the chance to meet her, she hoped to leave a good impression. The words she spoke were genuine, yet carried a touch of flattery.

Beisitian is not only a Mystic Doctor but one who can invite so many distinguished figures, indicating her skills surpass those of ordinary Mystic Doctors.

Someone like her, not just the city party secretary but even the provincial party secretary would treat her with respect. After all, who hasn’t fallen ill? Eating grains can lead to ailments, minor ones are manageable, but what about major illnesses? The current medical level is far behind compared to abroad.

That’s why Madam Yun’s attitude subtly changed. Yet, she was accustomed to being a politician’s wife and didn’t want to reduce herself to being too obsequious, putting her dignity on the floor to be trampled upon, which would make the other look down on her.

”That’s over the top,” Beisitian said with a smile.

Seeing Beisitian wasn’t someone with an arrogant attitude, Madam Yun was not surprised. She noticed this during their first meeting. Her very calm demeanor contributed to her misjudgment.

What Mystic Doctor would act like Doctor Bei, without a hint of airs? Usually, you have to ask multiple times, speak well of them, use every connection, and spend a lot to invite someone!

”How’s Cheng Tianji?” Beisitian asked Mrs. Cheng.

Since then, Mrs. Cheng hasn’t dared to bring it up in front of Cheng Tianji, only wiping tears when discussing with Cheng ZhenGuo. Such a terrifying incident occurred, and they, as parents, knew nothing!

The child didn’t want to say, couldn’t speak, and was afraid even thinking about it would be a nightmare. It was forcibly kept buried in his heart, causing immense repression!

”With your care, he’s gained a bit of weight, but still refuses to eat anything,” Mrs. Cheng said worriedly.

Beisitian’s medicine costs at least eight thousand a bottle, even for therapeutic purposes. If it were like the previous kinds, they’d be fifteen thousand a bottle. Their family is indeed an official family, but not a wealthy one, with limited capacity. Yet, for their only son, Mrs. Cheng is determined to buy the medicine!

But they can’t rely on it for life!

Even if she went out to work, she couldn’t afford it!

Beisitian nodded and said, ”I’ll go take a look.”

Mrs. Cheng quickly got up and led her inside; since her relationship with Madam Yun was different, she didn’t say goodbye and leave.

Beisitian entered the room, which was ventilated daily, and under her advice, the heavy curtains were opened. Today was a sunny day, and the sunlight felt particularly warm.

Cheng Tianji was staring out the window in a daze; the room’s soundproofing was excellent, so he didn’t know Beisitian had arrived, though he was waiting for her return today.

After bringing Beisitian in, Mrs. Cheng left. Her son seemed unwilling to share his feelings with her and Cheng ZhenGuo, which made both she and Cheng’s father feel uneasy. But at least there was someone he could speak to, which was an improvement over the past repression.

Additionally, Mrs. Cheng hoped that Beisitian could find out about those events so they could seek justice against those vile people!

This matter couldn’t just be settled, not even after many years!

Mrs. Cheng left, taking two maidservants with her, leaving only Beisitian and Cheng Tianji in the room.

”Sister, you’re here,” Cheng Tianji smiled.

Even though he’d gained some weight, his face still had little flesh. Such a smile lacked the brightness of youth and instead carried an eerie quality that made people uncomfortable.

Beisitian showed no reaction, reached out to touch his head, and asked, ”How’s your rest?”

Upon hearing her, Cheng Tianji perked up, ”Sister’s incense is amazing. I light it an hour before sleep every night and don’t wake up or have nightmares. I feel energized in the morning, without feeling sluggish!”

He promptly added, ”I use it sparingly; I have the maid extinguish it once I’m asleep!”

The incense was given by Beisitian, and she’s saving money for the baby inside her, so he has to be frugal, not wasting a single bit!

Beisitian smiled, pulled out a small tube resembling a chopstick holder, and handed it to Cheng Tianji, saying, ”I heard tomorrow is your birthday, this is a gift from your sister.”

Cheng Tianji was stunned, opened the tube, and found more than twenty sticks of incense divided into three types, with compartments separating them, clearly indicating three different effects.

Cheng Tianji scratched his head, eyes filled with surprise and embarrassment, ”So many, I... I...”

He was momentarily at a loss for words; besides his parents and Aunt Yun, it had been a long time since anyone gifted him birthday presents!

”So don’t save them; this incense is delicate and mild, without side effects. There’s no problem even after long-term usage, but once they’re finished, you should take a break to prevent dependency,” Beisitian advised.

Cheng Tianji nodded repeatedly.

Just then, the cheerful sound of children laughing came from outside. Since the window was slightly ajar, the sound clearly reached inside.

Cheng Tianji’s attention was instinctively drawn; the envy in his eyes was undeniably apparent.

Seeing this, Beisitian suggested, ”Do you want to go out with me for a walk?”

Staying in this gloomy space could make anyone feel depressed.

Upon her suggestion, fear immediately appeared on Cheng Tianji’s face, shaking his head vigorously, ”I don’t want to go!”

If he appeared in front of those peers, they’d be scared and scatter. The bold ones might even throw stones at him, calling him a monster, wanting to eliminate him as a public service!

Beisitian didn’t press the issue but didn’t mean she wouldn’t address it.

After giving Cheng Tianji some water with vegetable juice flavor and talismanic water, Beisitian left.

Tomorrow, why not celebrate Cheng Tianji’s birthday?

With this thought, Beisitian decided not just to come herself but to bring Luo Xuping along, though she wasn’t sure if Luo Xuping would resist. She planned to return and ask him first, to avoid any mishaps.

When Beisitian returned to the small courtyard, Luo Xuping happened to be coming back from school. Seeing her, he happily ran over.

”Sis!”

After speaking, he looked at Beisitian’s belly, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the three little ones; he finally wouldn’t be the youngest in their family!

”Ping’an, come inside, Sis wants to ask you something.” Beisitian called, inviting him into the house.

Luo Xuping kept a certain distance from Beisitian; his mother had told him that he was clumsy and to maintain a one-meter distance to avoid accidentally bumping into Beisitian!
