I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 628: Chapter 627

Beisitian opened the gift box and saw it was an inkstone. She glanced at Luo Xuping beside her, who quickly raised his hand, ”I didn’t know he bought it for sis at the time.”

Beisitian chuckled. These two little ones were so amusing, just happened to bump into each other like this.

Anyway, Beisitian was very grateful for Cheng Tianji’s gift, taking such a big risk to buy her a gift, how determined must he be to drag his body out like that.

”Thank you, I really like it.” Beisitian reached out and touched Cheng Tianji’s head, then turned to find Luo Xuping also leaning his head over. She smiled and reached out to touch his head as well.

Leaving the space for the two little ones, Beisitian also left the bedroom.

In the living room, Cheng ZhenGuo and Mrs. Cheng had been waiting for her. When they saw her, they both gave her a deep bow.

Beisitian’s body was heavy, her movements not very agile, so she accepted their salutation and couldn’t help but ask, ”What are you doing this for?”

Cheng ZhenGuo said sincerely, ”Doctor Bei, you have repeatedly given us hope. Before, our Tianji wouldn’t smile at all during the day, and even pretended to sleep every day, unwilling to talk. But look at him now, sometimes he even takes the initiative to open the curtains and look at the outside world, and this time, he even has his own friend to celebrate his birthday...”

As Cheng ZhenGuo spoke, Mrs. Cheng’s tears fell. Her son had changed so much in such a short time, all because of Beisitian!

”Doctor Bei, I’m really fortunate you didn’t give up at the time, otherwise, I’d have felt like dying!”

”No need to say that. I’ve always felt for the child. What happened back then is in the past, let’s not bring it up again.” Beisitian said calmly.

She wasn’t the type to hold grudges, and Mrs. Cheng wasn’t an aggressive person. Otherwise, Mrs. Cheng could have made things difficult for Beisitian using Cheng ZhenGuo’s influence, but the outcome would have been uncertain.

But Mrs. Cheng didn’t do that, which showed that she was not narrow-minded or vengeful, and she didn’t use her power against Beisitian either.

So, such matters naturally should be left in the past; holding onto them would be pointless.

After celebrating Cheng Tianji’s birthday, Beisitian prepared to leave. The two children were chatting in the room, and Cheng ZhenGuo, glad for his son to have peers around, said he would send him back after they had enough fun, reassuring Beisitian to head back.

Beisitian had been enjoying a period of peace lately since Ning Jiayin woke up. Besides taking regular medications, she was recovering quickly. Cheng Tianji now had Luo Xuping as company, and their relationship was so good that they met three or four times a week. Cheng Tianji even visited Beisitian’s home and spent most of the day there, which made the Cheng couple very happy.

Luo Xuping declared he would cure Cheng Tianji of his ’dislike of eating’, so he always accompanied Cheng Tianji during meals, insisting Tianji watch at least while he ate.

Surprisingly, this method was quite effective, even more so than Beisitian’s methods!

Cheng Tianji was driven not to be mocked by Luo Xuping for being short. The fact that a guy younger than him was taller drove him to keep trying food, but every time he ate, he thought of the bloody mess and scattered flesh, the half body with the eyes almost bulging out, and he felt nauseated.

He shared this secret with Luo Xuping since Luo Xuping was now his best friend. Luo Xuping, after hearing it, gagged twice, saying it was quite disgusting, and he empathized.

He then shared his own secret, saying that he saw a woman sitting on a grave holding a dog, eating, all while her white dress was drenched in blood and her face covered in it.

Cheng Tianji’s eyes widened in horror, ”That’s too terrifying, makes me want to vomit. How do you not lose appetite?”

”Not really, since the woman was eating a dog, not me. Why wouldn’t I eat?” Luo Xuping said. He felt his courage was quite large; anyone he told would pale with fear, so he eventually stopped telling anyone.

Cheng Tianji couldn’t help giving a thumbs up, ”You’re ruthless!”

Luo Xuping gave him a disdainful look, ”So yeah, what you saw were at least human remains; I don’t even know what it was that I saw.”

Cheng Tianji felt goosebumps all over, though fearful and disgusted, thinking about how calm Luo Xuping was made him feel inferior, not even as good as someone two years younger.

From then on, although Cheng Tianji still felt disgust toward food, he tried hard to accept it, making an effort not to think about those disturbing things. This subjective change in consciousness led to progress much faster than being passively led by Beisitian.

Beisitian was pleasantly surprised; this was an incredibly successful case and a rare experience, which changed some of her thinking to a certain extent.

Indeed, learning is a lifelong journey. The world is vast, with endless knowledge and experiences. It depends on whether you focus and dig for strength around you.

In addition to this, there was another unexpected gain. Although Cheng Tianji hadn’t attended school for two years, he hadn’t fallen behind in his studies. He hoped to return to campus one day and had been studying at home on his own, though since his depression, he read less. But it didn’t affect him being a top student.

Being a top student means being a genius.

Now, besides attending tutoring sessions, Luo Xuping occasionally asked Cheng Tianji for help, which gave Cheng Tianji a sense of achievement because he was needed by someone else.

Before the reception, Luo Xudong also returned home, his face slightly heavy but also relieved. Seeing his wife’s radiant smile brought sunshine back into his heart.

Luo Xudong hugged her from behind and whispered in her ear, ”I’ll be with you during this time, not going anywhere.”

Beisitian’s lips curled, ”Promise?”

”Promise.”

After Luo Xudong returned, Mrs. Qin had been informing him urgently about maternity knowledge because Beisitian had started experiencing false labor.

This meant the birth was not far away, but it was still two months before the due date. Premature birth was certain because it’s rare for twins, let alone triplets, to reach full-term.

Luo Xudong studied diligently, as it concerned the lives of his wife and children. How could he not be serious? He also consulted Professor Qiu and Dong Fengzhen.

Luo Xudong asked many questions about this matter and felt that a C-section was more appropriate because natural birth had too many risks.
