Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 428: Engaging Thieves in a Fight (Bonus)

Boom!

The explosion flipped the carriage.

”Kh!” The count gritted his teeth while his knight protected him.

They managed to escape unharmed thanks to the knightʼs barrier, but they had to come out of the carriage to see what was going on.

”Sir, are you all right?” The knight asked with a worried expression.

”Yeah? Whatʼs going on?”

”I donʼt know. It seems weʼre getting attacked. We need to get outside the carriage… We might need to return to the city to get some protection if necessary.” The knight heard the soldiers suddenly shouting, ”Protect the count!”

”Enemies.”

”Form a formation!”

The knight squinted his eyes. He immediately slammed open the door above him due to the carriage falling sideways.

Once he got out, he couldnʼt see anything due to the explosion kicking up the dust.

”Sir. Let me assist you.” The knight extended his hand.

”Yeah. Iʼm fine. Also, you will need this sword. This is your first job. Show me that I made the right decision by giving you this sword.” The count smiled.

The knight felt moved. ”Yes, sir. I will definitely protect you with this sword.”

As he lifted the sword with his left hand and the count with the right hand, the knight stood up and pulled both of them up carefully.

But all of a sudden, he noticed a shadow appearing in the middle of the dust.

”Enemy!” The knight pulled his lord sideways, but he realized that the enemy actually shifted his direction slightly. His target was actually the sword.

The knight wanted to pull it so that the shadow couldnʼt reach the sword, but it was too late.

Luckily, a few bullets suddenly fell from the sky and pierced through the cloud. The shadow seemed to sense the bullets and leaped to the side, avoiding the bullets.

After that, a howl rang in everyoneʼs ears as the cloud of dust was dispersed by the sound wave, revealing what was actually going on.

Their carriage had been surrounded by at least thirty people. They had eight guards with them, so it wouldnʼt be enough. The knight was the only summoner among them, but the enemies had four summoners.

In addition, two of them were stronger than him. On the other side, he saw a giant wolf and a man standing on its back.

As the knight of a noble, he obviously recognized this person. After all, his lord was talking about him earlier.

”Unique summoner, Nathan…” The knight was startled.

”Iʼm already annoyed enough after arguing with Alavenya and thought about calming down by coming out of the city, but to think I would end up seeing such a thing. Youʼre perfect. I will use you to calm down.” Nathan snorted.

The enemies were startled. They didnʼt expect Nathan would show up here.

The leader gasped.

The count was stunned by Nathanʼs arrival, but he actually muttered four names as those were the people that shocked him more than Nathan. ”Andreas K, Gray, Mad Wolf, Quzi.”

”!!!” The enemies widened their eyes, wondering how the count could actually recognize them.

Unbeknownst to them, Fenrirʼs howl earlier was not a normal howl. It was the ability he usually used to disperse ena. They also got affected by that howl, as the ability they used to hide their identities was undone.

”You are from the Essential Rat organization. You have been terrorizing this area recently!”

Nathan couldnʼt help but smile, thinking, ʼIʼve got a jackpot. The leader is here. And Gray is one of the most feared summoners among the six summoners under Andreas K.ʼ

Andreas was hesitating. Now that he had been caught red-handed, what should he do? Normally, they could actually get away, and those normal people were just there to scare them, which would make them relieved that they didnʼt attack once they escaped. And the count was supposed to be relieved and forgot about the fact he had lost his sword.

That was how they normally operated, and it usually bought enough time for them to run away.

But it seemed they couldnʼt run away.

Nathanʼs expression turned solemn.

ʼAndreas K and Gray have a total of 9 familiars at the master level, but Andreas K is not known for his fighting skill. Only Gray is notorious. Mad Wolf has two werewolves, which Fenrir can suppress.

ʼThere are also other people. It seems that I have to rely on the soldiers to capture all of them.ʼ Nathan thought while approaching the count.

”Count. I can sense a summoner next to you. How is it? Letʼs capture them. Your summoner only needs to take care of Mad Wolf and Quzi. I will handle Andreas K and Gray personally.”

The count was startled by the sudden offer. He was annoyed as well, but his knight was furious. He never thought that a good lord like Count Reysion would be targeted by them. So, he wanted revenge.

”Are you sure you can handle them?”

”Yes. Your summoner will have a much harder time than me since not only does he need to take care of those two, but he also needs to command the soldiers to capture those normal thieves.”

”I understand.” The count glanced at his knight. ”Will you do it?”

”I will protect the Reysion familyʼs honor!” The knight nodded. He clenched his new sword, determined to show that he would be able to handle all that task.

”Summoner Nathan of the Frexia Academy. Your cooperation, I accept it! Please capture those rats!”

Nathan smiled.

Andreas shouted, ”We ret—!”

Before he could shout, Fenrir let out another howl that overwhelmed his voice so that the others couldnʼt hear him.

At the same time, Nathan summoned Anubis, Nidhogg, and Jinwu immediately. The first thing Anubis did was to heal them, but it didnʼt seem to be necessary.

”Weʼll defeat both of them.” Nathan waved down his hand. ”Go!”

Without hesitation, all four familiars charged toward the enemies.

Andreas had summoned his familiars, and his subordinates followed him, thinking they decided to confront them head-on.

Nathan immediately shot four pairs of bullets that traveled over his four familiars, directing them to their respective enemies.

As expected, he would be handling the two summoners and one master level familiar.
