I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 350 - 350 346 Exchange Problem350: Chapter 346: Exchange Problem 350: Chapter 346: Exchange Problem “So you mean your Second Trial World was opened only after you perfectly cleared the First Trial World?” Edwin looked at the seemingly young girl in front of him in amazement.

What kind of monster is this?

“Is that your next question?” Mu Ying remained silent.

Edwin shook his head repeatedly.

Although he didn’t get a precise answer, he had almost confirmed that this was the case and there was no need to waste a question.

“It’s your turn to answer my question,” Mu Ying reminded.

“You can change trial characters.

Apart from the initial trial character, there are two ways to do so.

One is relatively cheap; you can change using the currency within the Trial World, but it’s only for trial use.

The other way is to spend Source Power to exchange permanent characters, after which you can permanently own them and also transform the skills they possess,” Edwin explained.

Mu Ying understood instantly: buying heroes requires Source Power, and in-world money can only be used for trial hero cards.

Skills from trial heroes cannot be transformed.

Even so, it was still very impressive: so many heroes, so many skills; the material transformation resources were much more powerful than Mu Ying’s Square World.

Her Square World was decent in producing Source Power, but it was far less significant in terms of material transformation resources — it had contributed only one Crosshair Skill to her.

She felt a little envious and resentful.

Mu Ying acknowledged, “My next question is: for all the trial characters, how much Source Power is needed to exchange and transform all skills for the cheapest one?”

“I can answer that.

My question is: why did you just give that range of Source Power?” Edwin asked again.

“...” She had just praised him for not being too foolish, and now he had wasted a question, but Mu Ying was delighted — she had profited from this exchange: “I had perfectly explored the First Trial World, and when I opened the Second Trial World, my accumulated Source Power was 500.

I received the prompt to open the Third Trial World when my accumulated Source Power reached 50,000.”

Upon hearing this, Edwin found it completely reasonable.

What other explanation could there be?

He had previously shied away from the thought that Mu Ying had already opened the Third Trial World.

Even if Mu Ying had received her trialist status on the first day of the apocalypse, he wasn’t much later than her.

How could the difference be so vast?

He had yet to even discern the threshold for opening his Second Trial World, while she could already open the Third Trial World, leading him by several laps!

He had lost big on this question!

He felt like he had lost money, not in a good mood, he said, “5000 Source Power!”

“...” Mu Ying thought she had judged his Trial World a bit hastily before.

That was way too expensive!

The most likely threshold for opening the Second Trial World, between 500 and 50,000, must be 5000.

Clearly, Edwin hadn’t yet opened the Second Trial World, meaning he only had one initial permanent character, probably Zhuang Zhou.

He possessed a Space Ring, which didn’t seem like it was transformed from material, so it must have been bought with equipment.

Including those expenses, it wasn’t likely that his accumulated Source Power had reached 5000; it was probably far below that number, implying that earning Source Power in his Trial World was extremely difficult.

Without Source Power, those heroes and skills were nothing but castles in the air, only to be looked at idly.

Edwin was also among the first few to receive the trialist role.

More than a year had passed, and he hadn’t even accumulated 5000 points of Source Power; the difficulty of getting Source Power in his Trial World was astonishing!

This would significantly slow down the speed at which he could open his Second Trial World.

“I have two final questions; let me ask them together.

Can the skills transformed from the trial characters be upgraded?

What’s your mechanism for obtaining Source Power?”

Edwin realized that Mu Ying’s questions were all about the rules of his Trial World — there was no need for secrets about that.

The trial characters, each with a special ability, were his most critical secret.

“I can answer both of those.

As for my question, I need to think a bit more.”

He still had many questions and, now knowing roughly the conditions for opening the Second Trial World, he wanted to find out what types of Trial Worlds others had.

But knowing he only had two questions left, Edwin thought for a while before saying, “I want to know if there were any rewards after you achieved perfect exploration in your First Trial World?

And how is the Second Trial World different compared to the First Trial World?”

Mu Ying nodded; these two questions were quite substantive and crucial.

“First question: There were rewards.

The reward was in choosing the Second Trial World; it helped match me with a world and characters that had a higher compatibility.

Second question: I feel that the Second Trial World is more real compared to the First Trial World.”

Edwin’s eyes lit up; that reward was quite good!

However, he quickly calmed down.

With his rate of acquiring Source Power, reaching a perfect exploration level and having the complete catalog of trial characters, he had no idea how long he would have to save up!

What a worry!

As for the second question, more real?

What did that mean?

Could it be that the Second Trial World was a real world?

Unfortunately, Mu Ying no longer had more questions, and he couldn’t ask more even if he wanted to.

Why was her curiosity so shallow, asking only four questions before running out?

“It’s your turn to answer,” Mu Ying reminded.

She certainly knew Edwin had many more questions.

She wasn’t claiming to have a complete grasp of Edwin’s Trial World, but she wasn’t aiming to understand in such detail.

Her primary goal was to comprehend the most crucial parameters about others’ Trial Worlds, such as Source Power acquisition and material transformation, to infer features of Trial Worlds and summarize more rules about the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial.

“Skills transformed from trial characters cannot be upgraded.

My Source Power is obtained by using the abilities of trial characters to compete in matches in the Trial World, which awards Source Power based on the highest rank achieved each season, with a season every half month.

The highest I’ve ever reached was Gold, earning 100 Source Power,” Edwin replied to Mu Ying’s questions.

Mu Ying looked at him in surprise.

That weak?

Only Gold?

But after a moment’s thought, it was reasonable.

A Trial World isn’t like a real game with tutorials and relentless gameplay.

With only one hour of free trial time per day, and even with time differences, the number of matches one could play was limited, making such constraints on progress quite normal.

Yet after more than a year, he had only reached Gold; that was quite appalling indeed.

Mu Ying couldn’t offer him any help, nor even advice, because being a royal battle game, no amount of talking would help; he had to rely on his research and hands-on practice.

Not that he could share intricate details like Li Luoxia, they weren’t that familiar yet, so she couldn’t reveal too much either.
