I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 302 - 302 298 Clearing Out the Fishmen302: Chapter 298: Clearing Out the Fishmen 302: Chapter 298: Clearing Out the Fishmen The protective shield of the Harbor Camp was transparent, unlike the main territory and other land camps, where half-wall markers were used to make the territory boundaries more prominent.

Thus, although she had set up the camp by this time, the Fishmen had not discovered the new encampment because it only contained her, an inconspicuous Owl that had long been spotted by them.

This location was also on the inland side of the Fishman Village; ordinarily, Fishmen rarely ventured here.

Fishmen’s enhanced Perception applied only to living beings, not to the protective shields of the camps.

Thus, Mu Ying quietly constructed the camp and then flew away boldly.

The position to combat the Fishmen was ready; now, all that remained was recruitment.

She sat cross-legged in the Asparagus Grass of her own plantation, starting to draft territory tasks on the territory page, and soon sent them out.

[Territory Task: Eradicate the Fishmen]

[Task Description: The Fishman Village occupies the best harborside position at the shore, worshipping an Evil God that influences the sanity of people and gods.

Jars made from corpses continue to contaminate the seawater, causing many marine creatures to go mad.

Join the Lord at the Harbor Camp to eradicate the Fishmen!]

[Task Reward: Kill 1 Fishman and receive 3 copper coins, 2 Territory Contribution Points, and the Fishman’s corpse will belong to the killer.]

[Task Requirements: Any territory player with an Identity Card can accept the task and obtain a temporary pass for free transportation to the Harbor Camp.

Points to note: 1.

During the task, players who are neither Druids nor Forest Patrol should avoid attacking the sacrificial jars.

Only these two Professions, tied to natural sources, can obtain Experience Values from nature for destroying the jars.

2.

Due to the mind-altering effect of the Evil God’s statues, entry and exit to the Harbor Camp are temporarily possible only via internal teleportation; players confident in their strength may find any three individuals to vouch for their sanity, confirming they are not in an irrational state before they can leave the Harbor Camp.]

[Task Time: Tomorrow at 8:00 AM]

Mu Ying had calculated the rewards as well; although there were many Fishmen, amounting to just over ten thousand, she only needed to prepare a few Gold Coins to cover the monetary rewards.

These coins could now be earned back by the territory in less than a day.

The territory’s reserve of Gold Coins had already reached 1,256, a number that was continuously accumulating, with the daily pure profit for the territory being about 6 to 7 Gold Coins.

She had also somewhat relaxed the contributions for this Territory Task, providing a substantial opportunity for those with strong combat abilities to accumulate enough Contribution Points to upgrade to official residents.

Adding in previous accumulations, Mu Ying estimated that about 15 players upgrading their Resident Identity Cards would be feasible this time.

All in all, fewer than 50 official resident identity cards had been issued to date, half of them to employees of the territory.

She did not intend to widely distribute official resident status; only scarcity would ensure it was cherished.

After the territory task was released, every player within the territory would see a notification for the new task on their Resident Identity Card, though they still had to check the details at the announcement board in the Sky Square.

Only official resident identity cards could directly view the specific details of the territory task.

However, these few dozen people were negligible compared to the other players.

The more impatient had already run to the announcement board, while those with connections went to ask their official resident friends for details.

The smart ones had spent a copper coin to teleport directly to the front of the announcement board; fortunately, the teleportation wouldn’t proceed if there was an obstruction at the target location, or else a stampede would have occurred there early on.

Someone with a loud voice at the front read out the task details.

The news spread through the entire territory as if on wings.

“With so many Fishmen, we should be able to gather enough Contribution Points to become official residents this time, I don’t want to be squeezed like sardines here anymore whenever a territory task is released!”

“Harbor Camp?

When was that built?

Is our territory getting a harbor now?

As a maritime specialist, could I finally find a secure job?”

“These rewards are really generous, aren’t they?

The oil rendered from a Fishman corpse can sell for quite a bit of money.

With everyone going together, we won’t have to worry about being ambushed by Fishmen anymore; who knows, this time it might be us ambushing them!”

“Has my fish oil business finally survived the cold winter?

Heaven knows how much I’ve lost since the world merged!”

“The Lord created a sub-camp as a battlefield just for exterminating Fishmen!

Awesome!

Isn’t this just fighting monsters by relying on the protective shield of the territory?

I’m good at this!”

“Thinking about it, I kind of miss those silly zombies that were so easy to lure back then.

With the protective shield, we were unbeatable!”

“These Fishmen, driven mad by the Evil God, have about the same IQ as zombies.

I can already imagine them swarming around the camp’s protective shield, falling one after another!”

...

Mu Ying had issued a territory mission and was watching the locals’ reactions on the forum.

Whatever happened in a territory would soon spread to the forum.

After several instances, the players from Qingshan Town were jokingly called Versailles masters, and someone even started a thread specifically called “Versailles Concentration Camp.”

Since then, this thread had become the place where players from Qingshan Town routinely boasted about their territory.

Although Mu Ying, the Lord of Qingshan Town, was embarrassed by direct compliments, she couldn’t help but lurk secretly in this thread.

She assured herself it was just to understand the locals’ opinions, definitely not because their praises sounded so appealing.

After all, she would have paid attention even if there had been a thread like “Qingshan Town Haters Concentration Camp,” but there wasn’t!

Upon opening the thread, she indeed saw the locals’ feedback about the mission.

“The Lord is handing out benefits again.

Grab a knife, claim a spot, and each stab is a Fishman.

An income of 3+2+n, just average I guess!”

“What does 3+2+n mean?”

“3 copper coins + 2 Contribution Points + n Fishman oil.”

“Tag the other Lords, look at this!

When will we have such events?

With a camp protective shield, I’d dare to fight dragons, not just Fishmen!”

“The person above, a camp protective shield can’t block dragon’s breath, just refer to that camp that got wiped out at Neon!”

“Our protective shield is level 10!”

“Fishmen are so cute, I can’t believe the Lord would go after them.

If it weren’t for the generous reward, I’d be reluctant.”

“Hehe, the kind of cute where you chop them into pieces and stuff them in a jar?”

“I’m in Lingtian Town, already on the Transmission Array.

This time I must cash in!”

“Welcome, don’t leave once you’re here!

A silver coin for the transmission fee, why not spend the rest on something tasty here?”

“Here they come, here come the Versailles group from Qingshan Town.

They aren’t even hiding it now!”
