Chapter 336 - 336 332 Damage Test House336: Chapter 332 Damage Test House 336: Chapter 332 Damage Test House [Damage Test House]

[To encourage everyone to enhance their abilities, the territory has launched a special facility “Damage Test House”, located deeper within the Mushroom Man area’s underground.

Just follow the corridor to the end to find it.

The specific rules are as follows]

[1.

Inside the test house, only one person from each profession can attack in their designated testing area at a time, and only single-hit damage numbers are recorded.]

[2.

A leaderboard for the highest single-hit damage by profession will be established.

Depending on the total number of players in each profession within the territory, a different number of spots will be available on the leaderboard.

Those ranked will receive varying amounts of monetary rewards, from 1 copper coin to 50 silver coins, paid out monthly.]

[3.

Players must strictly follow their profession and test within their respective areas.

When settling leaderboard rewards, profession verification is required.]

Mu Ying described the stone house as a territory facility also to mislead and avoid exposing anything about the Underground City.

Some players saw the notice on the bulletin board at Sky Square, while others became curious after seeing the new corridor while visiting the Mushroom Men and went to take a look.

Regardless of how they learned about it, Mu Ying’s spontaneous and even slightly rough and rushed test house quickly became popular throughout the territory.

“Is the Lord thinking we’re not trying hard enough, so he’s using money to motivate us?

Hahaha, I like it!”

“How come there are so many spots on the warrior leaderboard?

A hundred?

And we mages only get ten!”

“Just look at how many mages there are in the territory compared to the warriors!”

“Sigh, the test house is packed, can’t get in.

Better wait and see.”

“I just tried it and came out with a score of 15, ranked fifth among the warriors!”

“Brother, that’s impressive, pretty quick on your feet.

How many are there on the warrior list now?”

“Five.”

“So you made it to fifth due to your speed, huh!”

...

After sending out the notice, Mu Ying observed the changes happening to Little Stone in the plantation.

Any attack on the walls in the stone house would be simultaneously transferred to Little Stone.

If Little Stone still had plenty of strength, it could repair itself in a blink.

If it ran out of strength, it just needed to eat some stones.

Now its teeth had improved quite a bit, there was no need to continue consuming stone powder.

It could now gnaw directly on stones the size of a fist.

Feeding had become as simple as leaning against a stone and slurping it in.

Mu Ying had moved a large pile from the Quarry Camp into the plantation, setting aside a special area for Little Stone’s food.

Although this Damage Test House really had no technical content, judging by Little Stone’s condition, the effect seemed pretty good.

From the contract, the emotions Little Stone relayed were all “good times”, “satisfied”, “too much”, and the like.

It even ate stones at a very slow pace.

Normally, if there are constant attacks on the walls inside the Damage Test House and Little Stone needs to repair them, it should be feeding faster.

But its slow consumption implied that apart from stones, something else was filling it up.

There was only one possibility, that at this time, the emotions generated by players inside the test house and even at its entrance were feeding it.

To Little Stone, these were a higher quality of nourishment.

“Ding-ling~”

The Dingling Flower rang, and Mu Ying touched the flower bud.

Liu Luoluo’s voice came through: “Lord, that Damage Test House is bullying people!

I threw a punch and only got a big fat zero.

I’ve never even scored that low on a test!”

“Pfft!” The image was too vivid, and Mu Ying couldn’t help but laugh.

“I heard that, you’re laughing at me!” Liu Luoluo said ferociously: “Does this damage test house have something against us Magic professions?

Cheng Wei casts a Magic Missile, and she only gets a 5, but a Martial Monk throws a punch and gets several times that!”

“What if I tell you my highest is only 20, would that make you feel a bit better?” Mu Ying said.

“I suppose that does comfort me a little, wait, you got 20?

How big of a crack did that put in the wall?”

“Not that big, just a bit deeper.

Magic professions do fall a bit short when attacking walls, professions with greater physical fitness have an advantage, but the leaderboards are separate.

What’s your ranking among the Priests?” Mu Ying consoled her.

“First,” the voice from the other side brightened a bit, “I borrowed a huge hammer from a Barbarian, struggled to lift it, and smashed it against the wall to get a 7!

Securely at the top for Priests, haha, the prize money is mine!”

Mu Ying: “...”

She had never anticipated such a tactic.

Though it seemed flawed, her objective was nonetheless achieved.

Especially with such quirky maneuvers, her behavior may have opened up new realms for everyone, but it also elicited a full range of emotions.

She suddenly felt that her earlier announcement needed some tweaking, sneakily adding behind “to encourage everyone to strive to improve their strength” a line: “while also delighting their minds and bodies.”

An additional rule was also put into the guidelines below.

[4.

Players may use all sorts of aids including, but not limited to, weapons, and items.

Let your imagination run wild, entertainment first, competition second.]

After adding the rule, Mu Ying suddenly realized she had accidentally created a place that allowed players to demonstrate their strength and enjoy themselves, and it seemed to stir quite rich emotions.

Little Stone was very pleased.

She was simply a little genius!

After hanging up the Dingling Flower, she browsed the forum for related comments.

“Having read quite a few posts from players in Qingshan Town, I just want to say, do you guys in Qingshan Town have too much money to spend?

Creating such a pointless test house to hand out money?

What’s the point of smashing a wall to measure damage?

Does it really test actual combat ability, or is it just about who has more brute strength?”

There were quite a few comments like this, and even Mu Ying nodded in agreement.

They were right; it was exactly like that.

But she had already modified the announcement, practice is important, so is entertainment, right!

As expected, a player from Qingshan Town replied below: “The announcement just changed.

It’s not just about encouraging us to improve our strength but also about delighting our hearts and minds.

After all, they don’t restrict how we attack, and now everyone in a magic profession is scrambling to borrow heavy weapons; the Blacksmith’s hammers are all sold out.

Haha, I bet the Lord has been lurking on the forums, otherwise, how could it have changed so quickly?”

“...”

Mu Ying swore she had amended the rules before she went on the forums.

She sighed, picked up Little Stone, and gave him a few vigorous rubs: “I’m doing all this for you, and now my reputation is on the line!”

If not for the need to keep the existence of the Underground City a secret, why would she need to make up such lofty sounding excuses?

She could have just set up an empty house and had the Mushroom Man show films inside so people could watch—that would have a great effect on emotions, wouldn’t it?

But if she didn’t use the ready-made Mushroom Man Theater and instead wanted to set up a show in a tiny stone house, no excuse would hold water—unless she revealed that it was all for their emotions!
