I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 311 - 311 307 Little Griffin311: Chapter 307 Little Griffin 311: Chapter 307 Little Griffin Mu Ying left the Breeding Camp and took a trip to Griffin Cliff on her Magic Flying Carpet.

This time, it was clear that the number of griffins had decreased again, and a few more griffins had died.

Unlike last time, there were no eggs protected, but there were broken eggs at the base of the cliff, also fewer than last time.

It wasn’t because the griffins had gotten better at protecting their eggs, but rather because there were fewer griffins laying them.

Except for the breeding season, when eggs had been laid, or the small families with little griffins that hadn’t yet learned to fly, the other nests were basically empty.

Of course, it wasn’t possible that all were killed by the Blood Crows.

Unless a griffin was on its own and got mobbed by a group of Blood Crows, it might get killed.

Otherwise, when facing a swarm of Blood Crows, griffins could last a very long time; though they weren’t as numerous as the Blood Crows, their flying speed was much faster.

As long as they didn’t stubbornly fight to the death, escaping was not a problem.

Therefore, most deaths occurred because there were eggs or little griffins in the nests that they had to protect and couldn’t flee, only able to stand guard at the front of their nests and endure.

Mu Ying figured that the griffins from the empty nests had migrated, as Blood Crows were indeed an annoying enemy.

It seemed that after future Blood Crow attacks, she would have to check on Griffin Cliff more often.

If she didn’t pick up a couple of eggs, then the army of flying mounts she wanted would have to wait until the little griffins in her territory grew up and reproduced.

Not having found any eggs, Mu Ying was a bit disappointed.

“Chirp~”

Hmm?

While flying close to the edge of the cliff for inspection, Mu Ying heard a faint sound.

She focused and listened for a while, but then there was silence.

However, she did not think it was an illusion.

She continued to listen intently.

After a few minutes, she finally heard it again.

It must have been a little griffin, its voice even weaker now.

This time she pinpointed the general direction of the sound.

It was down near the bottom of the cliff.

Mu Ying flew over, and about five or six meters above the ground on the cliff, there was a little recessed rock ledge where a little griffin was lying.

It had just a bit more fuzz than the newly hatched, bald chicks she had seen that day; it must have also been recently born.

The little griffin lay in the small cave motionless, one wouldn’t notice until looking carefully that its belly was still faintly rising and falling; one might otherwise think it was dead.

Mu Ying looked up, and indeed there was a scattered griffin nest above.

It must have fallen from there and luckily rolled into this hidden recess.

It had escaped being eaten by the Blood Crows, but death was not far off.

Having not found any griffin eggs, Mu Ying was not averse to taking the little griffin with her.

With her magic wand in hand, she gently tapped the little griffin and used magic power to slowly levitate it out.

The little griffin had severe abrasions and impact injuries, one of its left claws had half a finger broken off, hanging by just a sliver of skin.

When she lifted it, the finger completely snapped off.

With that, the little griffin only uttered a soft “chirp.”

Mu Ying gently placed it on the Magic Flying Carpet, lightly touched its chest with the tip of her wand, and a flow of magic infused with life force entered its body.

The little griffin finally gained some strength, slightly opened its eyes, and saw the person squatting beside it.

“Don’t be afraid, it will be alright soon.”

Mu Ying spoke in animal conversation.

She replenished a bit of life force in the little griffin using life magic to prevent it from being too weak to withstand subsequent healing, then placed her hands on it and began to cast the Healing Truth.

The little griffin felt a tingling sensation in its body, which had almost lost sensation due to pain, and felt death receding.

After the spell casting ended, the injuries on the little griffin’s body were mostly healed, except for the tip of its left wing which was irreparably broken.

But it was only a little bit, not a big deal.

Mu Ying saw that the little griffin was still lying there dumbfounded, its little eyes wide open and curiously staring at her without blinking.

She poked its little belly, “All better now, want to move around?”

The little griffin looked at her finger as if it had just realized that it could move, its wings trembled slightly, followed by its body.

It slowly stood up and flapped its little wings, “Chirp chirp!”

The sound was much more spirited.

Mu Ying was relieved and noticing its flat little belly, she conjured a bit of water from the Recovery Spring, “Have some water.”

The little griffin, awkward with a missing claw, waddled unsteadily like a little duck toward Mu Ying’s hand holding the water ball, even using its wing to steady itself against her hand.

It touched her briefly, then sneaked a glance at Mu Ying’s expression.

Mu Ying watched it with a smile.

After seeing the nature of the two little griffins at the breeding camp, she was skeptical about the behavior of this little griffin.

Seeing no disgust from Mu Ying, the little griffin finally sucked at the spring water.

Then it forgot all its reserve, drinking several gulps eagerly.

After a while, it slowed down, taking two sips, looking up at her, then another two sips, and another glance.

After finishing a small water ball, its flat belly was now round and plump.

It didn’t stand steady and plopped down.

Seeing it had its fill, Mu Ying then took it away from Griffin Cliff.

The little griffin glanced back at the slowly receding Griffin Cliff, moved closer to Mu Ying, and stared at its own little claws, lost in thought.

Upon entering the breeding camp, Mu Ying grabbed the little griffin, calling off the magic flying carpet.

The little griffin stiffened, then, along with Mu Ying, experienced free fall, which made it remember its previous fall, causing its fur to stand on end.

But in less than a second, after a brief dizzying sensation, the wind stopped.

Mu Ying had already teleported it outside the griffin shed.

The little griffin, still slightly frightened, clung tightly to Mu Ying’s hand, curiously looking around.

Zheng Jing, who was sulking at the entrance of the griffin shed, saw the suddenly appearing Mu Ying and her gaze immediately fell on what she was holding, “What is this?”

“I picked it up at Griffin Cliff, it almost fell to its death.

I saved it, and it might be tameable?” As she spoke, Mu Ying started to hand the little griffin over to her.

Zheng Jing instinctively reached out to catch it, then let out a scream, “Ow!”

The little griffin that was about to be handed over pecked Zheng Jing fiercely, then burrowed fiercely into Mu Ying’s hand.

Mu Ying: “...”

She put the little griffin down, took Zheng Jing’s hand, and healed her.

Zheng Jing wasn’t too concerned about the injury, “Why does it trust you so much?”

Mu Ying looked down at the little griffin now clinging to her leg and said, “Maybe because I saved it?

Are griffins the kind of magic beasts that obediently listen because they owe a life debt?”

“I don’t think so.

Beast taming methods only mention that to deal with griffins, you need to overpower them physically.

It could be that it likes you because you saved it, but that doesn’t mean it’s tamed.

Taming a griffin signifies not only its loyalty to you, but also its meticulous execution of your commands.

Try it and see.”
