I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 331 - 331 327 Buying Land and Property331: Chapter 327 Buying Land and Property 331: Chapter 327 Buying Land and Property “Alright, then let’s choose a plot of land!”

Making the decision made the selection process quick, as there weren’t many vacant lots on 12th street, and they were all roughly the same size, so it was just about choosing the location.

In the end, they settled for the vacant lot closest to the Witch Tavern, which was conveniently located opposite a hotel.

“Lot 128?” the mermaid sister flipped through her Shell Book, “200 Gold Coins.”

Upon hearing this, Windsor was stunned.

Wasn’t it expensive?

The shop she bought in Moon Port with the land included was less than 200 Gold Coins.

“Mu Ying...”

Mu Ying pressed her hand and pulled out money from the Space Ring, “Here you go.”

Holding the deed to the land—a shell engraved with the land title—Mu Ying and the others left the property office.

“Mu Ying, why didn’t you let me speak earlier?

It’s too expensive!” Windsor exclaimed.

Mu Ying had yet to answer when Rosie said, “That’s just how prices are here, everything sells for a high price.

But because there is a small Fishman population and they are very welcoming to witches settling here, land and housing are comparatively cheap compared to everything else.

Here, apart from the extra cost of the Breathing Potion, doing business is actually quite profitable.”

“I’m a witch who can grow Dingling Flowers, you think I can’t afford it?” Mu Ying said with an inflated air to Windsor.

Windsor: “...”

Oh, that’s so infuriating, the ugly face of a nouveau riche.

“Alright, alright, let’s go look at the land!” Mu Ying extended two tentacles and pulled her into his arms.

Windsor: “...”

She was starting to dislike octopuses.

With so many tentacles, once you’re caught, there’s no escaping.

This was just a minor diversion.

Following Bertrand, they quickly located Lot 128.

The plot of land was larger than Mu Ying and her group had imagined.

Even though it was a commercial street, the shops weren’t cramped or squeezed next to each other.

“This place could comfortably accommodate a two- or three-story building, with enough room left over for a decent-sized area in the back, perhaps a small Medicinal Garden,” Rosie remarked with a hint of excitement.

“My yard is even bigger than this.

If you like, you can stay at my place,” Bertrand offered.

Rosie shook her head.

Was it the house she envied?

She coveted a yard where she could create a Medicinal Garden.

Bertrand’s home was in the Crystal Tree, where no matter how large the yard, she couldn’t plant anything.

Besides, she could afford to buy her own place.

Why live in his house?

The palaces on the Crystal Tree were beautiful but too restrictive.

Although she wasn’t as skilled at earning money as her junior, she had graduated several years ago and had made quite a profit selling Magic Potions in Crystal City.

After measuring the lot, Mu Ying and Windsor went into the hotel across the street.

The hotel was covered by a bubble ball, which created a dry space inside.

In Crystal City, there were only mermaids and witches.

The bubble ball was also an Alchemy Item created by witches, capable of separating seawater.

Inside, it could create many smaller bubbles, filled with water or not, adjustable to their needs.

When witches entered, it was as if they were on land, and when Fishmen entered, a small bubble would envelop them, filled with seawater.

This way, witches living there could go about their normal life and work routines, as many of their belongings were not waterproof.

Fishmen could also freely enter the witches’ shops, creating a win-win situation.

In Crystal City, most shops that sell bubble balls are owned by witches.

When Mu Ying and her group passed through the bubble balls, the water film formed bubbles that retained the water, but it only covered their lower halves, namely the fish tail part.

As for Bertrand, his entire fish body was enveloped.

“Too smart,” thought Mu Ying, “the bubble balls can even adjust based on Race.

The witches who drank the Fish Tail Potion only have bubbles on their lower halves because their respiratory organs are still like those on land.”

After entering the interior area with no water, carrying their little bubbles, they still moved with a buoyancy similar to that in the sea, swimming forward by swishing their tails.

However, seeing the chubby witch with brownish yellow hair sleeping on the counter made it clear that the buoyancy came from the bubbles.

Approaching the counter, the witch was still sleeping soundly, her drool forming a little river on the counter.

Mu Ying placed a finger to her lips and shushed her companions, then pointed to a dark wooden blackboard hanging nearby.

Rosie and Windsor nodded, floating up and silently swam inside, approaching the blackboard.

“Dear guests, if I’m sleeping too deeply, it’s surely because I drank too much last night, and you might find it very hard to wake me up.

Therefore, the vacant rooms and their prices are all written below.

Pick one and go rest; I’ll come to charge you when I wake up.

If by the time you leave, I’m still not awake, then congratulations on getting a chance for a free lodging.

However, such an occasion is very, very unlikely to happen because the scent of Gold Coin is quite tempting.

— Yiyeta”

Mu Ying chose a large suite with two bedrooms and took the key to go upstairs following the directions.

Finding the room, they entered one after another, and only after closing the door did they finally breathe a sigh of relief.

“This senior Yiyeta really has personality!” Windsor exclaimed.

Why could she afford to run a shop while sleeping?

Windsor worried that if she didn’t return for a few days, all her old customers would disappear!

Mu Ying laughed, feeling that every witch had their personal charm.

The suite’s living room was nothing special, but the bedroom was an eye-opener for Mu Ying and Windsor.

Because, besides a double bed, there was also a big fish tank, big enough to fit two mermaids as well.

It wasn’t a bathtub, but an actual fish tank, placed alongside the bed.

Both Mu Ying and Windsor turned to look at Rosie and Bertrand, a question simultaneously arising: “Are you two going to sleep together in the bed or in the tank?”

“...”

Bertrand blushed.

“We’ll sleep separately!” Rosie said with annoyance.

“Oh,” Mu Ying and Windsor nodded meaningfully.

The sooner the house was built, the sooner they could move in and start earning money.

Windsor suggested they first deal with the house before exploring Crystal City, since they would be staying there for a long while.

Mu Ying also wanted to get things settled before the end of the Trial Time, and the two hit it off, huddling over the table to discuss.

Actually, with the bubble balls, it wasn’t necessary to use Crystal Coral for construction; other materials might work and could even be more eye-catching.

But considering their abilities, Plant Magic was still the most convenient and quickest.

Other plants could be possible, as even without sunlight at the bottom of the sea, they could survive with the nurture of Mu Ying’s Plant Magic and Life Magic.

However, that would take a considerable amount of energy, and after a year, when Mu Ying left and only Windsor remained, she might not be able to care for those plants.

So after consideration, Crystal Coral was deemed the most appropriate because once the Crystal Coral had grown, its shape would freeze at the moment of its death, providing greater stability and ease of maintenance.
