I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 347 - 347 243 Bloodsucking Scythe347: Chapter 243 Bloodsucking Scythe 347: Chapter 243 Bloodsucking Scythe Edwin was certainly aware that he had chosen Qingshan Town as his future foothold among so many territories, and had naturally learned a lot about these territories on the forums beforehand—especially regarding matters concerning his own welfare, which he understood even more clearly.

However, he hadn’t anticipated that Mu Ying, the Lord of Qingshan Town, would be such a miser.

He was a Trialist, and one with the ability to travel long distances at that, and yet he apparently wasn’t worth the high price it would take for her to win him over!

Without being stunned with welfare, how could he willingly stay in Qingshan Town?

The status of an official resident didn’t mean much to him.

Although he wasn’t on the power rankings, he was on the combat rankings—even if in the last place—he could still acquire official residency status on his own merit.

So, he said, “Is there nothing else?

You should know that after I let slip that I was headed to Qingshan Town, many territories have offered a hefty sum to invite me over, with countless benefits to boot!

Don’t you want to have a high-quality Local like me and have me create vast wealth for you?”

“If others are offering a handsome price, why don’t you go?” Mu Ying retorted with a question instead of an answer.

Edwin fell silent.

The reason, of course, was that Mu Ying was also a Trialist.

Unlike those Trialists who were different because they had merged with the world and earned their spots through the global power rankings, both he and another who had not revealed their identity had become Trialists through other channels.

Perhaps the status of a Trialist couldn’t be snatched away, but the methods of obtaining such status could be replicated and were hence highly coveted.

Although he had revealed on the forums how he got his Trialist spot, it was uncertain whether people would believe him or not!

If he really went for those seemingly attractive benefits, what he would face might not be benefits at all, but peril instead.

Although he had gained some abilities in the Trial World, his strength was relatively weak due to certain reasons, or else he would not be at the bottom of the regional power chart.

People always envy what they lack, and just because Qingshan Town’s Lord was a Trialist, for him, this was the safest place.

Moreover, the current state of Qingshan Town among all the private territories in the world was quite outstanding; the welfare system within the territory was already quite friendly.

“In Qingshan Town, everyone must rely on their own strength and contribution to earn their return.

If you want better benefits, it would be better to first tell me what you can do for me or my territory, instead of just talking big.

The identity of a Trialist is indeed rare, but it’s not necessarily the case that they contribute more to a territory than ordinary players.

We do not talk about status, we speak with facts,” Mu Ying said.

“I wish to be as fair as possible, to give every player something to strive for and to earn the rewards they deserve.”

In short, what’s this?

Expecting to be paid without lifting a finger is delusional!

Edwin: “...”

While right in what was said, this approach by the Lord was a blessing for all the Locals, but for him, a Trialist, it meant he was on the same starting line as ordinary players.

If he was an ordinary player, he would be thrilled, but as a Trialist, this was rather upsetting.

“I can create weapons and equipment with special effects!” he still wanted to fight for himself.

Mu Ying was noncommittal, “Give me a rough idea.”

“There are Divine Speed Boots that add to move speed, Shadow Stealth Boots that increase move speed and reduce damage, Secret Magic Boots that combine move speed with magic penetration...

Just speaking of boots, there are so many options.

Additionally, there’s the Bloodsucking Scythe that boosts physical attack and also has a vampiric effect...”

“Hey, handsome, how much is that scythe that can absorb blood?” Sharon, who had been silently eavesdropping from the beach behind, called out.

She liked the sound of the name Bloodsucking Scythe, and she had heard that Mu Ying owned a scythe weapon as well.

Edwin squinted and then saw another person on the distant beach, “50 Gold Coins!”

Mu Ying: “...”

Well then, selling for such a high price!

50 gold coins should at least be able to buy a piece of blue quality gear, it’s just that such equipment is hard to come by in Deep Blue Star nowadays.

“Give me one!” Sharon was already ready to pay.

“Uh, it requires a lot of Source Power to convert, and I need to save up for a little longer.

If you really want one, you can pay a 2% deposit first.”

Edwin said.

“Handsome, why don’t you come over and take it!

I don’t like water,” Sharon called out, tossing the gold coins.

“Lord, please excuse me for a moment, we can continue our discussion later!” With a deposit to earn, of course, Edwin could not let this opportunity slip by and decisively ran towards the shore.

Mu Ying waved his hand, letting him go.

From those familiar equipment names, Mu Ying had almost figured out his bottom line.

His Trial World must be “Honor of Kings.”

The previous blue giant fish was Zhuang Zhou’s mount from the heroes.

However, it must still be quite different from the actual game because, in the game, Zhuang Zhou and his Kun are permanently fused together.

Now this Kun has turned into a skill, and it seems there’s a time limit, which can only mean, just like Mu Ying’s Square World and Li Luoxia’s Tower World, Edwin’s Trial World was also just inspired by “Honor of Kings.”

However, at least now it is known that the weapons and gear in the Trial World have basically no changes.

Those pieces of equipment do have some very nice effects, and the one Mu Ying is most interested in is probably the Resurrection Armor.

But seeing that he’s selling a Bloodsucking Scythe for fifty gold coins and still talking about pre-orders, lacking Source Power, needing to save up, Mu Ying estimated that the prices for transforming those pieces of equipment won’t be low.

After all, looking at Edwin’s attire, his shoes are a pair of plain brown coarse cloth boots, which are probably the Divine Speed Boots.

They are the most basic and cheapest type among all shoes.

If he’s only wearing these kinds of shoes himself, then the rest must also require pre-ordering, and it’s an unknown how long the pre-ordering will take.

Plus, he’s playing this deposit scheme, isn’t he just trying to get something for nothing?

If he’s afraid someone will change their mind later, surely he could just save up enough Source Power, confirm the purchase intention with the customer, then convert the item, and exchange the product for payment on the spot.

Why must he involve deposits?

“Ah!” Edwin was just about to write a deposit receipt for this generous lady when he suddenly noticed the color of her eyes.

Red eyes, black hair, afraid of water, in Qingshan Town, “You, you, you’re a vampire?”

“Did you only just recognize me now?

Little handsome, you’re so cute,” Sharon giggled, covering her mouth.

A Trialist, interesting, and not bad-looking either.

Her own castle was still too empty, needed some fresh blood infused into it.

“Heh...

heh-heh, cute, huh?” Edwin had also seen the post Mu Ying discovered on the forum; he didn’t think Mu Ying would lie at such a meeting place.

After all, it wouldn’t benefit her.

Sharing that information was purely for the benefit of others.
