I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 323 - 323 319 Inner Beauty323: Chapter 319: Inner Beauty 323: Chapter 319: Inner Beauty Henceforth, the Prince of the Moon Kingdom fell in love with another side of the Princess’s arrogant appearance.

He went to the Royal Palace for the second time, sincerely expressing his desire to marry the Princess to the King of the smaller kingdom.

Once again, the Princess mercilessly mocked the Prince of the Moon Kingdom.

This infuriated the old King, who swore to marry her off to the first beggar who came asking for alms.

A few days later, a street singer sang beneath the palace windows, hoping for some alms.

Hearing the song, the King ordered the man to be brought in.

The singer, in tattered and filthy clothing, sang before the King and Princess, then pleaded for a reward.

His disguise was convincing, but the slight upturn of his small beard gave him away—it was the Prince of the Moon Kingdom in disguise.

At that moment, the old King stroked his beard, smiled, and looked at the Princess; unexpectedly, she did not mock him and instead said, “I have given you such an unpleasant nickname, why don’t you give up?

Why are you willing to lose your dignity and dress up like this for a mere jest of my father?

What do I have that you find likable?”

The Moon Prince said, “Arrogance is just your camouflage; I love your inner gentleness and wisdom.

Marry me!”

“Father, you made a vow to marry me to the first beggar who came here; you need to keep your word,” the Princess said, turning back to talk to the old King instead of responding.

It turned out the Princess was not really arrogant, nor was the King actually angry; it had all been a play they were performing.

The Princess was too beautiful, and those who came to ask for her hand were only interested in her looks or her family background, but beauty fades and her lineage was not her achievement, only her inner qualities were truly lasting.

She wanted to marry someone who loved her for who she was inside, so she sabotaged her own image with sharp words to drive away those who valued only appearances.

Only the Prince of the Moon Kingdom did not give up, having seen the Princess’s inner self, and thus she was willing to marry him, bringing her entire kingdom as a dowry.

Later, the Moon Prince ascended to the throne, renaming the Kingdom to Huamei Zui, to commemorate their love that valued inner beauty over external appearances.

In fact, they indeed remained each other’s true love for life, setting a model for all lovers in the kingdom.

Since then, from the nobles to the civilians in Huamei Zui Kingdom, everyone began mimicking the Prince and the Princess in their way of choosing lovers, by spoiling their own outward appearance to find truly compatible souls.

The most popular mimicry was the shoe-last face with an outward-jutting chin similar to Huamei Zui.

Initially, people used fake chins or ugly makeup to achieve the effect.

Later, a witch skilled in creating Magic Potions arrived and produced a potion that directly created the Huamei Zui chin and various other appearance-altering potions, which became extremely popular among the youth.

This witch was approached by the still-living Queen, who signed a supply agreement with her under the name of her Queen’s Chamber of Commerce.

She bought up the witch’s Huamei Zui Potion products entirely and then sold them to the marriageable public at cost as a blessing and funding to those finding true lovers who loved them for their inner essence.

Today, that beautiful Queen has passed away, but her Chamber of Commerce is still operating, and the agreement is still effective.

Every man and woman entering into marriage goes to a store of the Queen’s Chamber of Commerce to buy a dose of this Magic Potion, which is why the young people on the streets all feature that outwardly flaring, shoe-last chin.

Of course, besides this potion, there are also other appearance-altering Magic Potions sold in the commerce, like the Birthmark Potion, which are sold at normal prices.

Overall, Moon Port also has its legends of witches.

While the Queen was still alive, many witches made a fortune in Moon Port by creating various ugly-making Magic Potions, and although people do not openly reveal their identities now, many locals still fancy witch culture and attire.

Therefore, the Witch Bar was so inconspicuous because there were also human-operated Broom Bars, Witch Tea Houses, and other shops.

Knowing this story, Mu Ying became calm whenever she saw men and women with shoehorn-like faces on the street.

It must be said that the Princess was quite magical, having changed the entire nation’s marriage customs with her own power.

But such a change was actually good.

It is proved by the elderly couples, their hair turned white, who still held hands while strolling through the streets, that the divorce rate here was very low.

And it was a nation without any places of ill repute.

Many who longed for a lifelong commitment came here for its unique customs to integrate into the local scene and then find their other half.

The story of the King of Huamei Zui and the Arrogant Princess was, up to now, the only story Mu Ying had heard that was even more beautiful than a fairy tale.

Thinking about the recent call from Senior Sister Margreta about the matters of the Rose Kingdom, this feeling deepened.

Prince Ferena ultimately married the Thorn Princess, and the marriage took place immediately upon his return, not out of love, as no normal person could feel love for a girl with an adult’s face but a child’s mind.

Their marriage was only to have the legitimacy and reason to occupy the vast lands of the Thorny Kingdom without the thorny trees.

After the marriage, Mu Ying’s half-sister and her mother moved to a small manor outside the Royal Capital.

The Royal Family of the Rose Kingdom would provide them with a comfortable life and ensure the portion of the wealth they brought back from the Royal Palace of the Thorny Kingdom, but the Princess as a royal consort would have her dignity restored only when she gained a normal person’s mentality.

So Mu Ying inevitably harbored some conspiracy theories, feeling that the Royal Family of the Rose Kingdom never obstructed the marriage union between their own heirs and a princess from a kingdom covered with thorns, which no one dared approach.

It dared to let Prince Ferena set out alone on horseback to storm the Thorny Forest and rescue his fiancée.

His swordsmanship was indeed good, but it was not invincible, was it?

Were they not afraid he would encounter danger?

It was merely because the stakes were high enough.

A prince who fearlessly rescued his fiancée alone, the image of being passionate and heroic was probably ingrained in people’s hearts.

Thus, taking over his wife’s country’s land naturally followed.

Even though the Thorny Kingdom had been desolate for so long, the land remained vast and fertile!

At its peak, the power of the Thorny Kingdom was even stronger than that of the Rose Kingdom.

Consider the scheming, hypocritical Royal Family of the Rose Kingdom, and then the fairy-tale-like king and queen of Huamei Zui, the contrast is too stark.

In such monarchial countries, the Royal Family has a great influence over the entire nation.

So much so that compared to Canteryala, Moon Port seemed more genuine, more trustworthy.

A port city that valued inner beauty over external conditions, it’s no wonder that the constant stream of trade caravans and fleets was endless; isn’t integrity the most important thing in business?
